A "better late than never" review. I'm still dreaming about the experience, in the best way.
I got a rather large group together to have an Xmas holiday brunch, and I opted to reserve a spot at Molly's based on a rec from a friend. I was a bit nervous since I usually host special occasion brunches at my home, and wanted the experience to be similar - comfy, tasty, great service and not rushed.
Molly's came through, with bells and tinsel and garland and a giant Santa. We were seated close to the main entrance, which was fine because after scoping out the place it was easy to see that any spot is a great spot. Our server was prompt and engaging, recommending and congratulating our beverage selections. A great start to any brunch experience is a libation you can sit with and sip happily whilst making conversation. Success!
Let's talk menu. My only complaint is there were too many amazing choices. We all wanted pretty much one of everything. I count this as a good problem to have at any restaurant.
The food came out in a reasonable time and mountain man, did reach out! They were traditional breakfasts, French-focused fare, cozy delectables such as biscuits and gravy and French toast, and specialty items you would only see in that part of town. I swear, we all looked at each others plates, and were definitely coveting their orders!
A second round of drinks was ordered, which came out at just the right moment. We slurpped and sipped and chewed and chatted for well over two hours, and not once did we feel rushed to push off, which only added to the experience.
Overall, a big win for a holiday get together, and I can't wait to go back.
