Welcome Back!! The new owners, Black Bean Coffee, have breathed new life into this Sunshine Coast landmark. It is the only operating restaurant that I know of that has been the star of two television series. We got there about 11:15 and it was already bustling, but by the time we got our food the place was overflowing.

An iconic restaurant with quite a long history starring in the CBC series The Beachcombers. It’s now operating as the Black Bean Cafe but the original sign is still prominently displayed… they would be foolish to not take advantage of his history which is so well known. The food was very good.. basic but well done and fresh. They also have beer on tap, and baked desserts. ( I don’t know for sure but suspect they do their own baking ) staff are super friendly and yes there are slip ups when they get busy but they do their absolute best to make it right if you speak up (.. but do it NICELY ! ). Their chicken sandwiches are made with real house baked roast chicken! Can’t go wrong with that. The fries are coated with some sort of light flour and super crunchy. They are not greasy.

This place leans heavy on the iconic Molly's Reach cafe of Beachcombers fame (TV series on CBC in the 70s). It still has the huge sign out front, and the amazing location right at the foot of the wharf in Gibsons. The actual food is from the Black Bean Cafe located inside. It's self service as you order at the front counter and anything that you can't bring to the table with you they will bring out when it is ready. Inside is a bit tired and has a lot of nostalgic photos, some of which are from the Beachcombers TV show. The tables are pretty close together and because its an older building it can get noisy as sound echos around a lot. Food is OK, nothing special, and prices are on par with most of the other places in Sechelt. We got the Relic Burger with fries, smoked salmon bagel, turkey brie panini, and vegan veggie sandwich. All pretty good flavours (the burger can get a bit messy to eat as everything tends to slide out). The bread and bun were fresh and soft. It would have been nice to have an option to sub out the kettle chips with a salad or coleslaw. The only option was fries for an extra $5. The baked goods and coffee menu looked good, but will have to try that next time for breakfast.

Comfortable place with a lovely view and quaint Canadians history. I had the Relic Burger. It was delicious. It seems very popular with the ferry crowd and with nostalgic visitors. Molly's Reach is exactly what you expect a very good coffee shop to be. Order at the counter, find a table, your food is great when it gets to you.

If you’re visiting Gibsons, a stop at Molly’s Reach is an absolute must! This iconic spot, famously known from The Beachcombers TV show, is so much more than just a tourist stop — it’s a cozy, welcoming restaurant with fantastic food, friendly service, and a laid-back atmosphere that perfectly captures the charm of the Sunshine Coast. We came in on a busy afternoon, and while the place was packed, the staff stayed upbeat and attentive. The wait was worth it! I ordered the fish and chips, and honestly, it might be one of the best I’ve had in BC — crispy batter, tender fish, and fries cooked to perfection. The seafood chowder was rich and comforting, loaded with fresh seafood. The view from the patio is beautiful too, overlooking the marina and mountains. Even with the bustle, it still felt relaxed and homey. Prices are reasonable considering the quality, portion sizes, and the fact you’re dining in a piece of Canadian TV history. Highly recommend popping by Molly’s Reach whether you’re a Beachcombers fan or just craving great seafood in Gibsons. Would definitely come back on my next visit to the Sunshine Coast!

Stopped in our our first visit to Gibson's and the Sunshine Coast. Had a quick coffee and a blueberry cinnamon bun which was soooo tasty. Chill vibe and a great view looking out over the marina from inside or the awesome patio.

I go every year at the same time Food was so Expensive i probably will never go back. The people and atmosphere of the place was amazing management and back of the house. Staff food was delicious but so overpriced I could’ve gone to a different restaurant and eat twice as much.

I had the breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese. On my first bite I could tell the bread was freshly baked. It had a crisp exterior and a fluffy warm center. The cheese pulled as I bit back. It was cheesy, rich and a little sweet. My dad and I came back the next day to get breakfast again. I had the veggie breakfast sandwich the second day. It was fresh and light. I couldn’t get enough of the delicious bread they use! Molly’s has my heart! I’ll be back every time I’m in Gibsons!
