Molo Brew

Lovely place with 25 taps all theirs except for one. Tried a few different beers and all were great. Food was fantastic too!

We arrived in Ålesund on Queen Mary 2 and Molo Brew is literally outside the gate as you exit the cruise terminal. Maybe a bit too convenient. Molo Brew has a welcoming vibe and offers good guidance on the many beers on offer. We were very happy with the food we ordered with the beer too.

The place was packed and still the food came piping hot and quickly. Very tasty indeed with wonderful service. Priced decently. We really enjoyed it there and will go again 👍

When we travel, we enjoy visiting local breweries and trying their beers. This place had it all. It was very modern, inviting and had a great ambience. It was a large brewery with plenty of seating with open windows to look out and to enjoy the view of the harbor. They had some areas with very comfortable seating that was available and we were lucky to sit there. They also offered some games to play if you like. We wanted to try the beers so we ordered flights of beers and they were large size flights and they had many selections. We ordered food, we had a burger and their wings, and both were very good and the Staff was very friendly. You can order from the bar and they will deliver your order to your table and they also have people coming around to check on you. Service was fast and very friendly. Our experience here was enjoyable and very relaxing. I will absolutely recommend this place.

We were able to try this great place as they normally are not open on Monday but since the cruise ship was in, they decided to open up. Did a flight which be warned are good sized pours. They have 25 beers that are brewed on site. Other liquor and non alcohol drinks. No food during our visit due to normally being closed which was fine with us. No shortage of food on the cruise. 😉 That is why no rating on food. If in town, suggest you stop in. Staff was awesome. Environment is awesome.

A restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Tried several kinds of beef burgers and two types of chips. Taste is fine but not the best. Prices are a bit high.

I had dinner in this nice pub where you can have some good hamburgers and craft beers for a relatively cheap price for Norwegian standards (on average 240 NOK). On the menù there are suggested pairings of burgers and beers. Waiters are kind and service is quite fast. Overall a recommended place.

Beer was good, but for me not the food. We had Sammy the Salmon for the burger, and Fish & Chips. We chose Sweet Potato Fries for the side. The salmon burger was too sloppy. Too much sauce, hence it was so wet. Difficult to eat. And the salmon was overcooked and very dry, the fish meat was so hard and I almost couldn’t cut it as well. While the Fish & Chips was not hot also when arrived to our table, it was just lukewarm only, it’s like been sitting for long time already. The meat was also dry and not juicy/flaky. The only thing nice was the sweet potato fries. Hope they can improve the food. Restaurant was very busy during dinner time, so the service quite slow as well, as we waited quite long for the food to come, it was almost an hour.

Enjoy a brew by the boat! We visited Alesund on a cruise and found this spot directly by the port. After a day in the city, we popped in for a beer and snacks and had a great time! The service was friendly and fast. They have lots of games for guests to enjoy. One of the staff members even played with us! They also have table top shuffleboard. This is a great place for groups, reasonably priced, and fun. Highly recommend!

Great harbor views from this brew pub. We enjoyed the beer, burgers and the excellent service. We were lucky there were no cruise ships in port since Molo Brew is located directly across from the port. I would happily increase my rating to five stars if the shuffleboard table wasn't priced at US$4 per minute.

Right in front of the cruise ships so it's a good stop as you make your way out or back. Order at the bar. Menu over head but they also have a clip board with everything they have. Even English for food. Cocktails and wine as well. Lots of beer choices and flights. Grabbed an autumn amber. Pretty tasty. Not hoppy. Smooth. We didn't try any food since we already paid for food on the ship but the burgers sounded really good. Mostly cruisers in the bar so hard to judge the ambiance but has the micro brewery vibe with games and picnic tables. Not a bad stop to chill

Seriously one of the best breweries I've ever been to. I'm from Southern California, and we have lots of local breweries. Honestly, I think this one takes the cake, even over all of the ones I've been to there. The beer was amazing! Please please please ship to the US, I would absolutely buy this beer in the states!

So glad they were open while we were in Alesund. They brew a large and diverse selection of beer. I wish we could've stayed longer and tried more of their beers, the music they had on was wonderful!

My fiance and I love craft beer and visiting breweries. Finding breweries with more than 3 or 4 beers on tap at one time seems rare and hard to find in Norway.. Alesund was the last stop on our trip in Norway and we hit the beer jackpot! They had 25, TWENTY FIVE!!, of their own beers on tap! When we find places like this, we tend to get build your own flights to sample what we want to sample. Unfortunately, Molo doesn't allow build your own flights. They have two pre selected beer flights to choose from but the bartender was very friendly and gave us small samples of everything that we were interested in. We ordered two flights and two pints for $45. Not bad considering all the samples we got in addition to that. This is a beer haven in Norway! The negative reviews seem to be on the food which we didn't have. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a wide variety of beers on tap! Also, google maps seems to take you to the building next to Molo so be on the lookout for Molo signage when youre in the area.

The beer was good. The food wasn't so good. It was a cool looking place and super close to the cruise ship we arrived on. The prices were really high, even by Norwegian standards. This isn't a very long review because we weren't there for a very long time to experience much of anything.

Huge industrial-type space with both cozy chairs and picnic tables. Of the four beers tried, the best was the guest beer from elsewhere.

Perfect location and chill vibe, food and beer were on point and exactly what we needed after walking around town all morning! Apple Maps said they were closed but it was actually open.

Considering that this brewery is right next to the cruise ship port, I thought it would be a tourist trap. Instead, it is an excellent craft brewery with good food and beer and not a trap at all. There are a huge number of tables outside as well as a bunch inside so there's always a ton of space to sit, even when ships are around. The beer is very good and they also serve a few other brews from around Norway. The best seat in the place is the couch in the back where you can enjoy a few rounds in great comfort before heading back on the ship.

Beer was good (though priced for Norway). The food was really subpar though. The decor suggested better burgers than what we had. Also, shuffleboard for $0.50 a minute is super steep.

Great place! Awesome beer! Small menu but burgers are great. Love the location. Was really busy at night and it makes sense why. Cool place for sure.

So maybe I spoke too fast when I first reviewed it. After eating here an additional two times, it was evident that this place has bad service. This last time was the icing on the cake. I was about to sit down when one of the waiters rudely told me that the table I was going to sit at was reserved despite it not having any indicating signage to confirm so. I sat at a table adjacent to the one I had previously sat at. Other parties came in after, were sat down, given menus and had drink orders taken. I, on the other hand, wasn't even given a menu. Even trying to make eye contact with the waiter seemed trying. So after 10 minutes of no service, I got up, put on my jacket and left. The arrogant waiter watched me as I did so, and said nothing. Guess this place is not for me, or they have prejudice toward Americans.
