Mom's Place Restaurant

First time trying Mom’s Place and I couldn’t be more pleased. Great restaurant with great service and great food at a very fair price. Jessica took wonderful care of us and made a nice morning out that much more enjoyable. Thank you Jessica and the rest of the crew. We will be back!

Excellent local family restaurant with great energy and hospitality!! Very fast service and staff were always available. Sirloin was tender and good size for the price. I will def come back here again!

First time here. Great little mom and pop diner. Jessica was a great server and made a couple suggestions and made me feel right at home. Got a breakfast that was exactly what I wanted and expected. Little under seasoned for my taste but definitely a place I'd return to again and again.

So I came across this place before and ordered one of their breakfast with 1 slice of this cannoli French toast. Everything about the place was amazing. Fast forward 3 months later Here I am today same place waitress showing attitude not giving me any attention after her 1st meet but ok maybe she took me wrong let me readjust my attitude and see. I requested same thing I had the 1st time I was here and I was told they don’t do that at 1st until I said well they did they last time turned down. No problem I know how to compromise and work through things. So I’ve decided I came here for the French toast that’s what I’m getting. I ordered eggs on the side too so I could get my protein. I went to the restroom and when I came back the table was cleaned as in I left when I haven’t even received my food yet. So I had to ask where my coffee and water was for them to bring me a new set. My toast arrived 1st and of course it was delicious. My eggs came later and I asked for hot sauce as soon as they arrived. Well I never received the hot sauce, my waitress had an attitude and automatically assumed I gave her a 10$ tip on a 20$ bill. I was giving her 5 even with her attitude and bad service.

The staff were very helpful and cheerful, food got to us within minutes and tasted fresh.

This is such a throwback to the diners we are used to being from NJ. Accidentally found this place after a visit to Moffitt Hospital. The food is delicious and true Greek style diner. Even the decor. The place is only open until 3pm and use to be cash only but now takes credit cards too. Small diner with only booths available that can only seat 4 people. The omelettes, pancakes, salads are all excellent. Plus there are daily specials too. Very busy with many locals and lines waiting. However the turnover time is pretty good. The wait staff is very nice and accommodating too. Great food, good value. Parking can be difficult so be patient. Something you might find on DD&D tv show.

I have been visiting this diner since 2009 and try to visit as often as possible whenever I am in the area. Great food, excellent service and reasonable prices. Comfy seating area. The waitress was kind enough to keep my coffee cup topped off while I did some work on my laptop after finishing my breakfast.

Awful service. The waitresses were not happy to be there, we waited forever for our food, and when we finally got our food- my chicken was overcooked to the point it wasn't edible, like rubber. The bathroom was disgusting, mold everywhere, shower gel for hand wash (the employees wash their hands with shower gel... not antibacterial soap ) Pancakes were good tho.

Been eating here over 30+ yrs. never stops coming & the ham steak w/ grits & eggs are delicious! No pic, but go in & try for urself.

A true diner feel as we walked in. We had the veggie omelet and grits and eggs and gyro meat and grits with cuban toast. The coffee was ok. Our breakfast did not take to long. The veggie were cooked in the eggs which was good. The eggs breakfast was ok. Our breakfast overall was average.

We came here for a quick breakfast before heading home as we heard it was good. This is the epitome of diner food and vibes. You could get breakfast or lunch. I got pancakes and bacon and they were delicious. The pancakes were as huge as the plate and perfectly cooked. Our server was very sweet and helpful and got us drinks immediately. There were autographed photos of Buc and other NFL/NBA players on the walls which was really cool to see. The only thing I would suggest is having more a description on their food, they have a large list of omelets that we weren't sure what all came on it.

Great, affordable breakfast. Fast, friendly service. My family ordered the hog wild omelette, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and blueberry pancakes. Everything was great and very reasonably price. It's only about 10 minutes from the airport so it makes for a perfect stop before/after your travels.

Sausage gravy and biscuits. Eggs and bacon, grilled blueberry muffin, and pancakes. Can't go wrong with this little gem. Food is priced just right Servers are super friendly. Glad we saw this on our way out of the airport. Highly recommend this place.

Ordered take out, no delivery available. Food was just ok. Not what I was hoping for. It's so close to my job I was hoping it would be good so we could order more often. It is definitely not on our list to go back to!

A must stop if you're seeing a Yankees or Bucs game. Real American friendly feel at this breakfast diner. Pork chops breakfast are to die for. Service is just so authentic and won't bust you're wallet. Love this place

If you plan on eating here please expect to wait. This is definitely your local diner. No frills... The food was okay. There were a lot of canned food choices being used. Corned beef hash, canned mushrooms that were in the omelet. They say they have good coffee but for some reason that day my coffee was not great. Biscuits and gravy tasted like they were from the can as well with nothing extra added. I probably would never go back here!

Walk in and it feels like home! My first time in florida and this place was highly recommend and it did not disappoint. Good prices. Services was okay. Food was great! We got grilled and fried chicken sandwiches, steak and cheese and it was so flavorful! I will be coming back next time down in florida!

Looking for a 'Mom' & Pop breakfast on the way home from the airport. Found Mom's Place. I was flying solo along Dale Mabry. This was my first time behind a fork here. I definitely got the old-time diner feel. In fact, I almost expected Alice to step around the corner to a rousing Flo's "Mel, kiss my grits!". Of course, who knows if Mel could cook? Right away I noted this place is CASH ONLY. Fortunately I did have some cash on me. I'm not real crazy about cash only in today's world. I get the notion the merchant just doesn't want to pay the bank fees. Taking cards is way more convenient for the customers and therefore should be the norm. My server, Julia, was efficient and polite but wasn't into chit chat. She would do a 'Is everything okay?' fly-by, which I find disconcerting. Instead of folks getting whiplash trying to whip out a reply on the fly, it's much better to stop, in front of the customer, while inquiring and wait for the response. I ordered the Greek Popeye Omelette, with feta and spinach. I make a spectacular version at home, so I know what to expect... I was surprised to see the feta simply sprinkled on top of the finished omelette. By putting the feta on the outside, after cooking, you miss the melt. You lose the flavor combinations of the fats, oils and the spinach melding into a bouquet of Mediterranean flavor. For me, this was a big miss. The egg and spinach cooked together formed a semi-solid omelette block that just didn't impress. The hash browns were okay. I left thinking there were quite a few other places nearby I could've visited for breakfast. Meals should be more than just the act of eating. The first meal of the day sets the tone for the rest of the day. You are 'breaking fast' after your night's slumber. At Mom's Place, I got fed. Period.

Needed somewhere to eat breakfast after an appointment in Tampa and this restaurant did not disappoint. Great friendly service. Food delicious and served quickly. Cheese on hash browns was excessive but that's an absolute thumbs up. I highly recommend. Don't be discouraged by the parking lot looking full. They seat people almost immediately.

Best breakfast!! We love coming to Moms place. It's right off of Dale Mabry by Raymond James. Food is delicious, great prices, and staff is wonderful. We always go for breakfast but they also have a lunch menu. They previously only took cash but earlier this year they started accepting credit/debit. Our favorite is the biscuits and gravy meal that come with eggs and your choice of meat. Highly recommend :)

Love this diner on Dale Mabry, where the gyros are slammin and staff welcoming. Great for a quick bite at a real diner, closest to a NY/NJ diner I've come across in Tampa Bay. Close to Steinbrenner field, signed photos of Yankee players cover the walls of this charming diner. Helen a greek american from Queens, hubby George opened w/ his parents in the 80s, yankees used to come in all the time in the 90s. So much history. KEY TAKEAWAYS: - FOOD - While everything looks good, I get the same thing every time because it is sooooo good. That is the GYRO PLATTER (lamb) w/ Greek Salad (8.95). I'm super picky with gyro and greek salad because I've had so many authentic ones living in ny and trips to Greece but this place does it well! They have a rotating spit in the back (lamb only, chicken is not made on a spit). The tzaziki is delightfully garlicky and feta moist and delicious. Compared to locally available options 4.5/5, compared to nyc 4/5, compared to Greece 3/5. Homemade stuff includes roast beef, daily specials, etc. - AWESOME SERVICE - This is the kind of place where the owners are always present, knowing customers by name and come over to chat. Also seem to retain staff as I've seen many of the same faces for years. Servers and owners are really delightful. I even had an issue getting cash from their ATM which involved many calls to my bank and fraud alerts. The owner was so understanding about it and basically made me a tab, even though I said I wouldn't be back for months until my next car servicing. When I returned months later with the cash they were so lovely. Really such a warm and inviting local place with great folks. - CASH ONLY - They have an ATM inside. - INDOOR SEATING ONLY - During peak of covid, they did seat every other booth but back to full capacity, as many places are. - ALL DAY MENU - Yes I do eat my gyro platter at 9am.

The food was great. Fresh and large portions. ***WARNING*** the pancakes are HUGE. Customer service was great. There was a bit of a wait, but it was definitely worth it. The host and the waitress were both apologetic about the wait although it wasn't their fault. The place was packed. It's a diner vibe. The booths seem closer than other restaurants. Possibly to allow more customers. Nevertheless, our visit was great and we'll be back.

5 stars just for the great service alone! We visited very early in the morning, fresh off of a red-eye flight and didn't know the area too well. We saw on the door it was cash only but that wasn't a problem since we had cash on us. The food wasn't bad but the portions were generous, our server was super friendly and our coffee was constantly being refilled without us needing to ever wave anyone over.

The food and service is absolutely amazing. The ambiance is very relaxing and perfect for any family looking for a delicious bite to eat. 10/10 !!!

1. Jessica, our server (pictured on the right), was so absolutely fabulous. Cups remained full and we wantes for nothing. All the other staff that came by to check on us were also stellar. 2. The food is simple and delicious. 12/10 If I was local, I'd be here all the time.

The lady that answers the phone was very friendly, very accommodating, I wasn't a fan of the hashbrowns, but the omelette and grits were tasty.

We moved away from Tampa 8 years ago, flew in for a family vacation for the Holidays. Was super sad that they wete closed untol the 3rd of January, didn't think we would get to dine with them, but our plans changed and we got the chance to eat there after all. We arrived close to 2pm, closing time was 3 so I guess thay explains why the server was so attentive, but it was somewhat annoying how often she checked in on us. We now live in a part of the country that takes masking seriously as well as pandemic prevention efforts, they didn't really exist at Mom's Place, very few staff was wearing masks. Cash only is annoying and archaic. The food was adequate but not super amazing, just cruddy dinner food. The part that has me scratching my head still, nearly a week later wondering what year this is... Is this the 21st century?!? I handed the dude behind the counter at the cash register, cash to pay for our meals, and instead of handing me MY change, he handed it to my husband. He purposely looked at me and then decided to hand it to my husband, what the actual sexist nonsense is that??? Who does that??? Sexist aholes who run crappy dinners that we won't spend money at anymore, I guess.

I have heard great things and driven by a million times. I was at the Toyota dealership and said I am going to stop by for lunch. I was definitely not disappointed. The food and service were great. Can't wait to stop by for breakfast soon.

Came from California for the Buccs/Packers game and was recommended this spot for breakfast-delicious!! I loved the coffee and the food was amazing! I love breakfast spots and this one is a gem. Very friendly staff and very homey atmosphere. I really recommend this place

Great breakfast & such friendly servers! If eating im-house prepare to wait, but coffee is worth it! My hubby loves the huge ham steak, which can feed 2-3, but if ur salt/sodium restricted plz avoid. Grits are creamy & omelettes are supreme.

This was one of my favorite places. The portion size of the bass fish is completely different it isn't even bass their serving more like tilapia. I've never had a bad experience with this place in 8 years of coming. I don't know if management or owners changed but this was just bad like the taste of the fish was also horrible/ disgusting/disappointing

I really enjoyed this diner. I've been here a few times and it's consistency is what I like. The staff and food are both great.

I've eaten here for years, and the food has always been very good, especially the breakfast however today I had open faced roast beef with mashed potatoes w/gravy and mixed veggies. The beef was very dry, tough and bland, the potatoes were runny and also very bland. The veggies tasted straight from the can with no seasoning whatsoever. This was the worst meal I've ever had here. The place is under new ownership, and I hope they are not going to start letting the quality of the food go downhill. I'll give them another chance but won't order the roast beef again.

I was recently fired through a text message from one of the owners. I was the Manager for over 4 months making sure everything ran smooth, while they were gone on vacation to Puerto Rico and then 2 1/2 months in Montana, they used me to take care of everything because I was the only one trained to do so, just for them to get back last week hadn't even seen them, but got the text on my day off to be fired. They Used me, They didn't even have the courtesy to call me or to do it face-to-face. The new owners are a joke. For all the customers that knew me I do Apologize for not being able to say goodbye I'm gonna miss y'all I have been around mom's place for over 20 years and have never been treated this poorly. 1

Hometown feel diner with all the breakfast classics. We've been there twice so far on our vacation and will probably be back Saturday and Sunday.

New owners since March , 2022 so anything before that date is old information. Best place I've ever worked in. Hard working team of Chefs, servers, and buss boys. Look at new reviews. New owners still accept cash but now people with credit cards can have that choice. Mom's has always been owned by families. It's comfort food, like Mom would cook it for you in her kitchen. Breakfast served all day, staff is friendly, relaxing safe family atmosphere. On Thursday's one of the new owners prepares Mexican food like "fajitas" or "carnitas", he calls it Latin day, People love his food. Come see for yourself and make your own experience at Mom's place. New owners since March of 2022. Chefs Reeves, Jennifer and Travis know how to cook any type of eggs , home fries, corn beef hash, pancakes and bacon for your favorite breakfast combination. All you can drink ice tea and coffee. Fresh daily made grits, plain or with cheese... make Mom's place your regular place to satisfy those taste buds. I am a hostess there and I enjoy and value all of the regulars and the new comers from all over the world. Some stop by before they go to the airport. Some travel miles just to get liver and onions. Some of the regulars have been eating at Mom's since they were children and now take their families. It's wonderful to be part of Mom's history , I look forward going to work everyday. I am grateful for this opportunity the new owners of Mom's place have given me. Amazing service, clean and the food was fantastic. The breakfast was served well and very large portions the prices were good. The menu was big and they have daily specials.

Mom's Place has the look and feel of a local diner, but the food was bland, seemingly of lower quality, not made from scratch and something more representative of dad's cooking than that of mothers. Absolutely no consideration for covid social distancing. Service was attentive.

This place is awesome! Best American breakfast food in town. They have started taking credit cards, making your experience better. Food is always delicious, and the staff is friendly and dedicated to their jobs. My husband and me are going to this place almost every week.

We have been going to Mom's for several years. The service is always great and the food is really fresh and good. The price is even better. There can be a line out the door, but you can still get in quickly. They have new owners now, but nothing has changed expect that they now accept credit cards! We love this place and highly recommend giving it a try if you haven't already.

I've always been amused by the irony of a restaurant named Mom's Place right next to another restaurant named Pop & Sons. After deciding we wanted to try a new-to-us breakfast haunt one Saturday morning, I suggested Mom's Place because their menu seemed incredibly broad. Our wait lasted mere minutes around 11am, and our booth was roomy. I decided on the Mediterranean omelette with gyro meat & feta cheese (I 86'd the olives & tomatoes), and tzatziki sauce on the side. My omelette also came with hash browns & I added a cup of grits to my order. While that combination seemed unusual yet interesting, I was pleasantly surprised at how absolutely delicious this omelette was! While we did feel rushed to vacate our booth, the crowd here is a testament to the popularity of Mom's Place. My breakfast was incredible, as well as reasonably priced. Service was quick and accurate. I can't wait to return for another outstanding meal.

Had a great breakfast for lunch. Corned beef hash crispy, eggs cooked as requested and hash browns that were tender with just the right amount of crispy. My toast was hot and served with my plate of breakfast. It annoys me no end when I am made to wait for toast. The service was great too.

Wow a cool little spot! Walk in and you're transformed back into the 60's...when food was real and delicious. Reminds me of the diners in New York. Food and service was great!
