How Hard Will It Be to Eliminate Plastic Straws?

"Union Square Hospitality Group says cost implications of abolishing plastic straws are only a real concern at high-volume spots such as MoMA's cafés, where the financial impact of switching away from cheap plastic is more acute." - Clint Rainey, Clint Rainey

Google
Nice cute place serving good breakfast. Quality of ingredients are top notch. I think the flavor profile can be improved a bit especially for dishes like huevos rancheros that taste a bit bland. But very good overall.

Google
Delicious!!! Great service and great food. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is delicious. We had a huge order of eggs and other items but everyone dug in before I could get pictures. Highly recommend trying them if you are in the area and looking for breakfast or brunch. Their other stuff looked good too but we were in the mood for breakfast/brunch so we didn’t try the other dishes.

Google
This is the easiest 5 star place ever Food is amazing, the service is great. Definitely a 10/10 with great breakfast, perfect if you're looking for a place to grab a bite before hitting epic universe park. Great location, has free parking and seats inside are very comfy. Would love to come back soon 🫰🏼

Everything is always great every time. Love this spot for breakfast and coffee. I had already ate most my eggs before the picture of the American breakfast. The Belgian waffles are amazing. My daughter loves to customize the waffles with ingredients from smores.

Google
Moma's was recommended to us by someone at our hotel and it definitely did not disappoint. I had the Spanish Fiesta which was so good. The ultimate cold brew was also very yummy. Service was friendly, fast, and everything at this café was fantastic. Will add this as a regular stop for all of my Orlando travel.

Google
Not a bad breakfast spot by any means, but not great either. Everyone in our party had the same feelings...food was good, not great. Took a ridiculous amount of time for what we ordered, and for how busy they were. Also, a bit overpriced for generally underwhelming food/drinks. Parking is also absolutely horrible. Very friendly staff, and it passes the vibe check. We'd try a different spot for our next trip to the area.

Google
Today we found a wonderful spot for breakfast in Orlando. While we typically visit Orlando for amusement at the parks, we were pleasantly surprised to unearth this hidden gem. Upon our arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff who apologized for the slight delay in our orders due to the use of fresh ingredients. Despite the brief wait, the food surpassed our expectations with its delicious flavors crafted with attention and care. The team treated us like family, making our experience truly memorable. We adore this place and will surely revisit on all our future trips to Orlando.

Google
Great place if you’re looking for vegan options. I went there today. I’m from out of town and this was a treat. Friendly staff. Enjoyed eating outside. I got the vegan grits bowl, side of hashbrowns and not so guilty vanilla latte. All delicious!

Sophie K.

Yelp
A must stop breakfast brunch or lunch place when in Orlando. all of our food choices were delicious. waffles super flavorful aswell all employees were lovely and polite and honest about wait times

Yelp
Nice, cute experience here! Food was good. Wait for food was long. They're not ready for big crowds yet... Makes sense because it's a cafe. So just prepare to wait a while on a summer Saturday morning. Avocado toast was really good! I very much enjoyed their liege waffle. Great flavor. Who would've thought you dip it in a little sweetened condensed milk and top with banana. Eggs, sausage, and hash brown are standard! Cannot complain.

Yelp
Great food and a nice atmosphere. Good options for kids. I visited Orlando earlier this year and found this place.

Yelp
As we looked for a new spot to try for some breakfast or even brunch, we noticed we were pretty close by to Momas Cafe and decided this would be the spot to go. It is self seating, so we found a spot to sit and checked the menu, it was a good sized menu but I'd say I struggled to find something that stood out to me. I felt it was lacking a signature dish, something that tells me I need to try it. Nonetheless, I was settled on the Spanish Fiesta and my drink which was an orange juice mixed with a lime juice and more. Safe to say I enjoyed them both, the drink was super fresh and refreshing. The food was honestly great, it comes with green peppers normally but im not much of a peppers person so i skipped on that, but this was a flavorful dish. It was basically a breakfast bowl that normally has potatoes but this one one replaces the potatoes with cubed and seasoned soughdough bread that impressed me! Its definitely something I would eat again. It is more of a cafe vibe so I would say not to expect too much in terms of the service you will get at your table. At the register they were very friendly and even helpful if you needed something. It was good overall and Safe to say that I would definitely come back here and eat if I am in the area.

Yelp
The cranberry orange muffin was great. Also, I had the chicken & cheese empanada which was good as well!!! The service was pretty quick for me. It was really busy, so I chose some grab and go items versus full on meals due to the short time I had available. Really cute, and quaint restaurant. The staff were nice and welcoming.
google avatar

Edward M.

Yelp
This is a first time visit. Looking at the menu I thought they were a bit pretentious. The seating can be limited. There is no real table service other than having your meal brought out. The order you have to stand in line and hope there's a table for you. So bring a friend. Overall I thought the food was good. I think I got a coffee refill once. I thought this place was okay. It's a bit pricey for breakfast. Out the door it was $50.00.
google avatar

Yelp
Good breakfast spot, very helpful & nice manager -food took about 40 minutes but it was worth it. Huevos rancheros were delicious & tried their tres leche iced latte, good but I could barely taste the coffee it was like drinking sweet milk. Definitely order a waffle with graham cracker crumbs. adds a nice crunch.

Yelp
Fun Café located near Universal Studios in Orlando. We stopped in for a lunch on our way from the airport. The place has a fun vibe with attentive servers. We had our luggage with us and they were happy to accommodate our luggage and allowing us to stay to hang out for a little bit. We went with the Portobello avocado sandwich with a side of fries and a BLT. The garlic aïoli was full of flavor, and the bacon had a good crunch to it. I enjoyed the portobello sandwich as it was something different than I've usually had. We came for breakfast and all enjoyed our selections. From a cheese omelette to a burrito., they were all delicious. The gourmet avocado toast is a must!

Yelp
Stopped by Moma's Café and tried the blueberry muffin and two cheese empanadas -- both were really good! The muffin was fresh and soft, and the empanadas had great flavor with just the right amount of cheese. Nice little spot with fast and friendly service to grab a quick bite and chill. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Everything was very good! The staff were friendly. I had the avocado toast with bacon and egg and a side hash brown. It was very fresh and delicious. Only reason for the 4 stars is the wait time. Waited about 45 mins for a simple dish (they did tell us prior) but we were already committed. Another thing is this place needs better ventilation!! My eyes were burning from the smokiness that aluminates around the restaurant. I also left smelling like food which is annoying. Overall if I'm ever back in Orlando i would come back!

Yelp
**INITIAL REVIEW** While on a weekend vacation to Orlando to celebrate my stepdad's birthday, my sister who lived in Orlando for a good portion of her life, even longer than I have, suggested a breakfast/brunch place she's heard of while we were out and about for the day. Given the fact I am a connoisseur of breakfast/brunch places, I had to second her suggestion. Ergo, my family and I got to try out Moma's Cafe with this being my very first time eating here. Though an address is provided, Moma's Cafe (which I will shorthand simply to Moma's) is located in The District, an apartment complex on Universal Blvd. in Orlando. Just like some traditional malls, this apartment complex is incorporating the hybrid commercial/residential setup in which the first one or two floors are for commerce while the higher-up floors are for residential. First and foremost, the parking situation can be confusing. The parking lot in front of Moma's is limited and only has one way in, one way out. Ergo, if it is full, most people will have to park in the parking garage located within the complex. Take note there is a "walk-thru" from the parking garage through the apartment complex to the storefront area where most people will enter commerce businesses, including Moma's. Just follow the signs from the garage and you'll find your way. Though there are some outdoor seating available, the restaurant's minimal indoor seating suggests it gets its majority of business through pickup, takeout, and/or delivery. However, the interior is quite cozy despite being quite a space to work with. Prior to ordering, you can view the physical menu or scan a QR code for a digital menu complete with pictures of said food. Moma's also has a nice selection of pre-made and baked goods, some of them being keto-friendly. After taking our order, we found a table that was somewhat close to the water refill station. Eventually, our food arrived and I have to say, very simplistic in nature but good nevertheless. My family ordered French Toast, an omelette known as "Greek Glory". a full breakfast known as the Southern Hearty, and the Breakfast Club sandwich. I ordered the Tex-Mex Chicken ScramBowl (hodgepodge word of scramble and bowl) and Chicken and Cheese Stuffed Avocado. **DETAILS OF MENU ITEMS IN PICTURES** The food was absolutely delicious. For me, the two food menu items I got were very filling. That is a big deal for me as I am searching for very high-volume foods with low calories. Take notice I said "very" at the end of high-volume. Ergo, think of 1000 grams or more but less than 500 calories altogether. Better if less than 300 calories. And on a sidenote, the restrooms were cleaned and well-stocked. Nothing out of the ordinary or over-the-top, as it served its purpose without any disgust. Ultimately, I am going to give Moma's an initial rating of 4 out of 5 stars. Excellent food, excellent prices, and friendly service. Only "issue" is that the food did take longer to make compared to other breakfast/brunch restaurants or mom n' pop restaurants. But who's ever been perfect, right? I know I will be back sometime in the future, and if they are consistent, let's say two more times at least, I'll give Moma's their fifth star for consistency in an updated review.

Yelp
Coming into the cafe, there is enough seating which is nice. You grab a menu and choose your seat, once ready you go up and order and then they'll bring it to you. I have to say when ordering the guy was very helpful and friendly, which makes you want to go back. The wait time to get the food was about 25-30 minutes. We ordered a matcha and fresh squeezed orange juice. The matcha is theirs so it's a little more earthy, I suggest asking for extra syrup pumps if you're used to a sugary matcha. The juice was delicious! We ordered French toast and the Spanish fiesta. French toast had a good flavor and a good balance between crispy and soft. The Spanish fiesta had a nice twist to it, instead of potatoes they use sourdough bread. The only complaint I have was the trays they brought the food with and the syrup coming in a small package, but that's just me giving some feedback that can improve. Overall, a good experience and we will be back.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot near international drive. Had the America's favorite with eggs scrambled with cheese, bacon (10/10), hash brown, and biscuit. The food should've been hot for the time it took to prep; we were advised of a 25 min wait.
google avatar

Yelp
We have been here on multiple occasions both for take out and in person brunch. The staff here has a very great customer service, especially Alejandro! Food is tasty and for the price and serving size you really can't beat it ! This has become a common place for us to get breakfast When you dine in you grab a menu pick a seat and when you are ready to order you go to the counter they give you a number and they will bring out your food. It's a very minimalist environment, but they do have. A little corner where they are books and plushies that I am assuming is a children's area
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good. Cold brew coffee was a bit water downed more than I'd like. Very swift in the service and ambiance is a relaxed homey feel. Parking wasn't too hard to find. The building is in the far right side of the plaza. They accept cash and card.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Lovely little breakfast spot. You order at the counter and then grab a seat. Or was witch and easy to order. Went with colleagues and ordered a bunch of different items from egg dishes to pastries and a variety of coffees. I had the power protein breakfast which was great.
google avatar

Klash S.

Yelp
We accidentally found this place during our visit. They have a variety of food options and everything is tasty and fresh. They are also very honest with you about the time frame due to the food that's freshly made to order. I would recommend it and will definitely come back!
google avatar

Miriam K.

Yelp
Super kind group of guys running this place, they are in a well populated area and it was a breath of fresh air coming here, I had some sort of breakfast bowl, instead of having roasted potatoes like every single place usually does, they have cubed perfectly toasted and seasoned sourdough bread as h e base for the bowl and it has peppers and onions and bacon with two over easy eggs on top and I enjoyed every single bite. I enjoyed their peach lemonade it was divine! My husband had coffee and I believe it was grits I can't recall but he loved his meal. The team here was walking around at all times checking on patrons and it was lovely overall! Highly recommend them over any of the other places in that area!

Yelp
Made a quick stop while running some errands. The food was good and worth it. I'd recommend to a friend

Yelp
Love a fresh breakfast, looking online found mama's cafe and loved it. Yummy and fresh food, will definitely recommend and will be coming back next time I am around.

Yelp
This little cafe is the cutest! We stopped by for a quick breakfast and the staff was amazing. The food was delicious and my iced coffee was great. The little restaurant is really nice and decorated in a unique style.

Yelp
I had a mushroom, spinach, sausage and egg burrito. Amazing delicious . My husband had 2 eggs over easy with bacon and he said it was really good. I would highly recommend this diner.

Yelp
Yelped a place that's close to the OCCC for a late breakfast. We were not disappointed! Plenty of nearby street parking, easy to find and get to, and lots of room inside or outside (if you're into the sauna heat!). It's a little loud but tolerable. Decor is super low-key homey with places that look great to sit and work or meet a small group. They even have a printer for usage! It's a help-yourself diner (scan menu, pick a seat, & order at the counter), but it works well. They have signs that make it clear and wifi to connect. While there wasn't a line when we got there at 11 on a Saturday, it quickly filled up, and there were several people who came and grabbed their takeout. I really appreciated when the server/cashier have us a little heads up that food orders were stacking and would take 25 minutes. We actually got our HOT food within 20 minutes, but his letting the crowd know was thoughtful. We order a turkey-bacon breakfast burrito, avocado BLT, & a sugar waffle with Nutella to share. EVERYTHING was hot and delicious! Our service (same guy behind the counter) was so happy, it gets a little contagious. Oh! And they got my raspberry-white chocolate Americano perfect! Coffee is smooth and delicious, but bitter. Warning, you will smell like the diner when you leave. I'd still come back here when we visit!

Yelp
Met up with a friend before going to Sea World. Loved that they opened early on a Sunday! There is parking in the front and there is free parking in a garage with a 2-hour limit connected to the plaza. I'll admit it was hard for me to find at first because the location on Apple maps is a little different than the actual location itself. I did a lot of "where is it?" only to realize I wasn't walking far enough down the sidewalk even though the maps said it was right where I was standing. Upon walking in, there is actually a decent amount of seating for a quaint little coffee shop on this strip. It is counter service, so you order and then sit and they bring your order to you. I was actually impressed with the size of their menu, as it was a smaller place with a smaller staff. I ordered one of their seasonal lattes and it was very tasty, though towards the bottom it got very sweet (as most craft coffees do) so next time I feel like I'd stir it a little more to make sure I drink it till the last drop. I ordered the turkey blt with a side of fruit and it was delicous! The fruit tasted fresh and the sandwich was light and filling. I love that they ask how you want your eggs in the sandwich. My friend let me taste her burrito and it was also good. Definitely something to split with someone (it was huge!). If I have any critiques I'd say give yourself time there. When we got there it wasn't very busy but the food took a little time to get to us. When we were leaving I overheard the counter staff mention that the food was running at about a 30 min preparation time. I am looking forward to trying out some other menu items!

Yelp
Moma's Cafe is a great addition to this area! I used to live in Williamsburg and lament the fact that there weren't a lot of local places to grab coffee but this place has solved that problem. There is a parking garage and some dedicated spots in front of the cafe so parking isn't an issue although finding the place is a little tricky from Apple Maps. The cafe is spacious with lots of seating and is very cute inside! The cashier and food runners were friendly, but there were some inaccuracies with my friend's order, which they fixed. The coffee was good and the food was delicious! There were so many options for food and drink, I definitely want to try more of the menu in the future... and make sure to check if there is a seasonal drink menu because my selection off the fall menu was great!

Chafe S.

Yelp
I regret coming here, I've never been to a restaurant that seems to not understand how to cater to the people coming in. I've never been so frustrated ordering a meal in my life. Can i do this? "No" can i do the bare minimum of onions in my eggs "no" EVEN WAFFLE HOUSE DOES THIS . Couldn't even customize my meal for an up charge. The food i got was fairly ok. Overall, this is just a café, trying to represent themselves as a restaurant when they are not. 2/5 - don't bring your pregnant wife here
google avatar

Arlene N.

Yelp
So close to the theme parks. Good filling breakfast/brunch you can get before hitting the parks. I got the vegan breakfast burrito and a fruit bowl. It was pretty good and filling. Very friendly staff.
google avatar

Mary Ella C.

Yelp
This food was highkey unbelievable. I had a bite of everyone's food at my table and everything was good. Staff was so friendly. We're staying here to go to universal and I feel like I need to eat here instead of the parks for breakfast
google avatar

Ravi C.

Yelp
Not a vegan restaurant but plenty of vegan options. Owner is great about food allergies and knowledgeable. Coffee and coffee drinks were great. Ambiance is ok.... But great staff and food far more important! We enjoyed it and will be back!
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
This is definitely one of those hole in the walls for this area. Really loved this place and what they had to offer. Great vibes, service, and overall presence. Location is a bit tricky to find since they don't have an actual big sign on top they're franchise, but it is slapped on the door and windows of the cafe. Parking is a bit crowded and actually located towards the back of the plaza and you need to walk to the front of the building. It's actually located next to the small cupcakes creamery so don't think you're in the wrong area ! Just walking in seems like a relaxed and chill vibe. Greeted by the staff, super friendly, and give great recommendations overall. I personally ordered the Club Sandwich which is a great mix of ham, tomato, egg, and lettuce. Delicious sandwich and cooked to great perfection and soft on white bread. Paired that with some Cold brew cream soda which was my favorite drink on the menu so far. Place has so many items to try and I really want to make my rounds back here for their breakfast and other entrees !
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great and nothing short of AMAZING! They have the 'typical' regular breakfast stuff---and they have the avocado-laden stuff (yes, I'm on the avocado-train as well). They've got very healthy keto stuff---not your boring tasteless whatever sawdust 'healthy' stuff... they got healthy food that's actually edible..! Everybody's been great and nice and accommodating. Even thought their set-up is like a 'warehouse' type of deal, it works. My kid loves their avocado-inspired decor, good coffee table books and we can switch up chairs and what not. Every time we visit Orlando, almost EVERY DAY we come here. We can't find any other place to have breakfast at. Wish we have something like this in Miami..
google avatar

Denise R.

Yelp
It's a small little cafe with a pretty big menu of options. We found something everyone could enjoy!
google avatar

Jovanie V.

Yelp
Portions are not up to par with what I'm used to. I was not greeted but the couple right after was, very quiet. The food was ok at best.

Dr. I.

Yelp
This place was a little hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. We arrived about 11am and the person who took our order seemed tired and didn't come across as very welcoming; probably because he was the only one seen to take orders as well as possibly cooking the food. Food was just okay in my opinion. It was a little pricey for just eggs with turkey bacon and a slice of bread.

Hannah C.

Yelp
Super good food and great prices!! The waffles and sausage links were especially yummy! Good for families! Only critique is that the bathrooms weren't very clean.. they could do better with that!

Tom T.

Yelp
Food is fresh and very well prepared. Variety in the menu allows for a lot of choices. And the staff. Wow. Friendly, attentive and wanting to succeed. If you are in the area, it's wel worth supporting this great local place.

Alayna M.

Yelp
Went here for coffee. The espresso was very watered down. Not the best place if you want good coffee. The entrance is also a little confusing when you first walk in (we wanted to order coffee and we were told to sit down).
google avatar

Andrea P.

Yelp
The service was great. The environment was peaceful. Wasn't too crowded at the time that I came. Coffee was probably my favorite thing from everything that I ordered. I had an avocado BLT with a side of fries and my hubby had the power morning. Both were okay. Nothing out of this world. The food was hot and presentable though.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Very cute and yummy cafe. The staff was all incredibly nice, and the portion sizes are more than enough. We stopped by for breakfast on the way from the airport and we were greeted by a very kind gentleman. I didn't catch his name but he deserves a raise he was just about and beyond. They got pretty busy quick and he still took the time to greet everyone ever their orders and drinks out as well as check in on them. As I mentioned the portion sizes are massive. I had the grits with the veggie toppings and a side of hash browns with the sugar waffles. They were sugary, but yummy. I would for sure come back next time I'm visiting.
google avatar

Sherrell F.

Yelp
The Vegan Grits Bowl was amazing highly recommended...wait time is another story tho...clean restaurant and nice people... I recommend 8/10

Sean D.

Yelp
Quiet little café with a good size menu of breakfast and lunch items. I plan to return the next time in the area.

Yelp
Mona's Cafe is another great breakfast spot in Orlando, FL. It is best to order on-line, then drive to Moma's to pick up your order or eat it there. Tex-Mex Chicken ScramBowl - 5/5 Tex-Mex scram bowl consist of shredded Chicken topped with Mixed Cheese and Tomatoes on a bed of Scrambled Eggs. Topped with Avocado. This dish was excellent. I great nutritional mixture for breakfast. Breakfast Platter (sausage, eggs, waffles) - 4/5 A very good basic breakfast that will appeal to the average person. Nothing special, sausage tasty, eggs scrambled perfectly. A "go to" breakfast. Acocado Toast with egg - 5/5 Another great breakfast item to order. The avocado was perfectly ripe, buttery and delicious. The egg topped off a great food item. A very nice eatery for breakfast or lunch. I highly recommend trying Moma's Cafe.

Faith A.

Yelp
I rarely go to Orlando, but will go an hour drive to eat here again!! We got there at closing but were greeted with a smile. We ordered chocolate strawberry muffins!! OMG!! So moist and delicious! I also ordered a spinach and feta danish and it was the best I have ever tasted!! Go there! Experience this cute, quaint, and delicious cafe. You deserve it!
google avatar

Raquel O.

Yelp
Simple and savory grub if you're on the go or want to stop in for a quick bite. Service is always in point. Laid back, coffee house vibes.
google avatar

Kalani G.

Yelp
Honestly I really don't want to tell anyone else about this place because it's already so busy and the kitchen is already overwhelmed. But they deserve the review. I love this place. It's my fave breakfast in Orlando. It's nothing over the top they just do it so well which is all I want. It's a cute place but not Insta cute if that's important to you. It's about the food. But seriously, get here early ok? Once it gets busy the wait for food gets long and a little inconsistent. Be like me, arrive in that first magical hour after opening and enjoy yourselves.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
2.5-3 stars. Unfortunately I have to drop some stars off my original review. Food did not taste as good as last time. The food was still light, but lacking flavor that really makes you say "yum". The Spanish fiesta-- not really much "spanish" or "fiesta" about it, pretty dry even with the runny yolk that I guess is supposed to act as a sauce. I would've liked it spicier, chorizo might've worked better than bacon, and some creamy tangy sauce to round it out. The wait time is crazy high too (about an hour). I also took off some stars bc my sister bit down on a super hard avocado stem that was in her breakfast burrito. I would've taken it back and told the owner bc it really hurt her tooth and gum, but she didn't want to "make a fuss", so I didn't-- which I don't agree with. The blue lavender lemonade was really good though! If I ever visit again I think I'd come back for the drinks and pastries, but not sure on the food.
google avatar

Bob D.

Yelp
Finally a place with recognizable and original food done either a slight imaginative twist. The food was cooked perfect. Nothing over or under cooked. Bacon perfect not greasy. Waffle crispy and delicate and the eggs scrambled and cooked to delight your eyes then your pallet. Try the hash brown potatoes. It fakes you out. It look like it a heated frozen produce. Then , wam, the surprise. Hot and crispy on the outside and warm perfectly cooked on the inside. We will be back again and again

Yelp
I had dinner at Moma's Cafe with my mom and stepdad before we went to Universal for the day last month. I really appreciated the large menu; it something for everyone. My mom is vegan, and they have a lot of vegan dishes on the menu. I had the Tex-Mex Chicken ScramBowl (shredded chicken, avocado, tomato, and scrambled eggs) and a coffee. My stepdad and mom got the vegetarian grits bowl and vegan grits bowl. The food was okay. The space was nice, and the service was great. I wouldn't say it was a place worth going out of your way for, but I can recommend it as a place you can get a healthy breakfast before heading to Universal Studios!

Yelp
We were delighted to find this place on a Sunday, where most places have a huge wait to be seated. The inside was very cute coffee shop with a variety of seating. Unfortunately I think they were understaffed this morning, so the crew that was there felt the pressure of the Sunday morning crowd. We decided to only order coffee and grab a muffin to snack on while we waited. I ordered a lavender oat milk latter and my partner got one with oat milk and blueberry. We both agreed our lattes could have been swWhile the muffin was good, I did receive the wrong one. None the less the blueberry muffin was delicious. Someone will have to update me on the pumpkin muffin. Staff was polite given the circumstances and honest about the food wait time (~1hr). I'd like to leave some constructive criticism for the management/crew: Consider closing outdoor seating if there is short staff. Do not run! It passes the stress on to guests and will ultimately make them more frustrated which sucks for you! Lastly, the syrups could stand to be a little sweeter.
