Okay this is too cool! I love finding self-serve places and Maine has a ton of them. But this one is the jackpot! They accept cash & Venmo. You can also place an order and they’ll keep it for you in the reservation fridge! There’s so many flavors. Open 24/7 & people come here from all around the world. Such a cute little place! & the cheesecake and carrot cake is phenomenal!

Can anyone really say anything bad about Momo’s. Best cheesecake I have ever had in my life. I come up from Boston, and its worth the 4 hours. The honor system is a cool way of doing things in New England. They now take Venmo. There is parking out front. Maybe for 4-8 cars. If its packed I don’t know where else you would park. But never had that issue. I don’t believe there is a bathroom on premises but your only in there for a few minutes. They sell drinks too. I have never ran into an employee to thank them, they have post it notes to write messages. If you love cheesecake, its the best place to visit before you die. Junior’s or Cheesecake factory got nothing on Momo’s.

This was an amazing find!! What an awesome idea for a sweet little bakery. The shop is run on the honor system, come in with cash or pay by venmo. We bought a variety cheesecake and every single piece was unbelievable. So hard to pick a favorite. If you're in the area definitely stop by!

An in home business, more different flavors of cheesecake than I've ever seen in one place, and they are awesome, by the slice, or whole cheesecakes if ordered ahead. Self service on the honor system. People stop here from all over the world, when visiting the bar harbor area

Cute place with delicious desserts. Stopped by late afternoon on a week day and still had plenty of options. Enjoyed a traditional whoopie pie and a cheesecake. Both with fresh and tasty. Note: paying via Venmo can be a problem if you do not have service but also accepts cash

We had to stop here! Love the concept. So many choices. There was also carrot cake, whoopie pies and I think another type of dessert. Slices of cheesecake are $8.50 each which may seem costly but all five of us got dessert and spent about $33 which is what we spend if we take the kids out for ice cream. Not much difference in my eyes. Love supporting small, local businesses and I believe this is a family run business attached to their home. If you love cheesecake you definitely should stop. Don't let the price deter you, get it! You deserve it!

Saw on Facebook, decided to try. It is under advertised. We had the pina colada and reeses they were AMAZING!!!! Definitely bringing a cooler to bring some either home or to family next time in area. Price is moderate but you definitely are paying for quality not quantity. This is not a restaurant but a persons shed.

Momo's is a pretty unique place. It's like "u-pick" baked goods addition. A variety of cheesecakes to choose from as well as other baked goods. Tres Leches cake was amazing!! Apple Pie Cheesecake, another winner!!

If I could write a review with just one I would. That word would be WOW!!! However, I know one word reviews are not really a thing so I will elaborate. I was hesitant to go out of our way just for some cheesecake but after reading all the rave reviews I decided that it must be worth it. Obviously as you can tell by my one word review, it was absolutely worth going out of the way for. The place is small but has like a million different options. I wish I would have gotten way more than I did. The honor system of paying is a bit crazy but if it works for them then that's great. Everything we had was wonderful. We were here around Halloween and the outside was decorated super cute. The owner was super nice and friendly as well. If you are anywhere even remotely close by this stop is a must!

When in the area, pick up Momo's. It's 24 hours (I'm pretty sure) with an honor system to pay for what you take. Fantastically delicious. We grabbed a variety cake - lemon, strawberry, blueberry, butterfinger, and apple crisp. In a perfect world, there would be a cherry (my fave) and peanutbutter cup (my wife's fave), but alas, we do what we can! (You can always buy single slices) Yum, yum.

This is one of those out of the way places you find out about by word of mouth. It was a really cool place. They sell numerous slices of cheesecake by the slice. What makes it unique is it's on the honor system. You put your cash in a money box. They do have whole cakes if that's what you want. We got two slices. It's totally worth the 3 mile diversion off the highway to Bar Harbor.

Best cheesecake I have ever had. Never found anything close to this. The choice of flavors is unmatched and the cheesecakes melt in your mouth. Highly recommend.

I love every thing about Momo's Cheesecakes. The entire experience is wonderful. The business is run entirely on the honor system. There are so many different kinds of cheesecakes to choose from kind that it's a bit overwhelming, but you can always find something. I have a gluten allergy and I love that Momos has many options for us gluten-free folks as well. Today we bought the GF Turtle and GF Classic Cherry cheesecake along with a Strawberry and a Raspberry White Chocolate. I admit the slices are pricey at $8.50 a slice, but frankly, the cheesecake is so good that it's worth every penny. The shop is a converted garage and is great fun to go in and choose your favorite flavor. We are from CT and Momo's is always one of our first stops when we come to visit.

When hearing about Momo's, I was so excited about the concept for 24/7 cheesecake with a payment honors system. They had so many delicious flavors, and once you choose what you'd like you can Venmo or pay in cash. It was super easy to serve yourself and check-out. The inside was super cute, with a guest book to sign and lots of stick notes all over the walls that people have left. I will definitely be returning again.

We went to Momo's on a Monday night and a few other people were there too. What a huge assortment of goodies! I was thankful they offered Venmo as an option. We enjoyed the cuteness of the little store. We bought 3 different kinds of cheesecake and loved each one.

What a fun surprise! Driving back from Acadia National Park, we stopped by for a quick treat. Momo's cheesecake is one of the most unique places I've been to. When you walk in the music is playing, you see a ton of flavor options, and even dog and cat treats! We weren't sure what to except but very happy to have tried it. The cheesecake flavors are both classic and unique. There's also tiramisu, carrot cake, baklava, and homemade fudge! Payments accepted are cash and Venmo! The cheesecake was delicious!!!!!! I would def come back.

It is a self pay, self serve locally owned cheesecake bakery shop. It is adorable and a lot of the locals come by. It's the most expensive cheesecake I paid but it's well worth it. I tried their original and it was heavenly! They decorated beautifully for Christmas too. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone that is in the area to try it.

What a cute shop and talk about all the flavors. It's open 24 hours and you have the option of paying by Venmo if you don't have cash. Absolutely yummy...it's a must try.

As travelers from NJ, we wanted an after dinner dessert and spouse suggested this place as something we can try. I got the strawberry cheesecake and all I can say it was absolutely delicious. I'm sitting here stuffed bc I had to finish it. No excuses, it was just frickin' good. Thank you for having this place around 24x7!

What a neat place! It was out of our way, but my husband loves Cheesecake! We ended up making a second visit, later on our vaca... because we were so impressed! We met Momo's husband who explained a bit of the history of the place! Every bite of cheesecake we took back to our camp was amazing!!! Love this place. So many flavors to choose from! I wanted one of each! We ended up with lemon blueberry cheesecake, a chocolate truffle bomb and a peanut butter whoopie pie! All were delicious!!

Thank goodness for yelp or else I won't be able to find this hidden gem! I love how this place is doing the honor system and it's open 24/7. I just hope everyone is honest enough and pay for whatever they take so this place can still be around for a very long time for thousands more people to enjoy. I love how they have an option to pay through Venmo since I hardly have any cash on me when traveling. Carrot cake was good. So was the mocha cheesecake, which is my fave. I took home blueberry cheesecake(which I haven't tried yet) and 5 more mocha cheesecakes because it's one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had! They have tons of different kinds of cheesecakes to choose from, it was hard to decide lol. It's so cute and cool how you can write on the little sticky notes and stick them around the store or sign their guestbook. This place is 10/10 for me.

We believe that this place takes payment by way of the honor system (i.e., no one was there & they accept venmo, etc.) so please do the honorable thing and pay them. I got the basic strawberry cheesecake and by the first bite I could tell it was going to be a great cheesecake! It was. It truly was. The place is cool. Small and in a remote area, but well worth the trip. The cheesecakes are in refrigerators and the glass of the refrigerator tells you what each cheesecake is and they are also individually marked. Each slice was $8.50. V. affordable. Thank you, MOMO.

The most adorable place to stop and pick up some cheesecake! It's such a cool experience to have it all be self service and they have so many different flavor options! If you are struggling to choose, I would recommend the blueberry. It's a classic and SO good! Side note - the slices are expensive but it's well worth it. The best cheesecake I've ever had!

I was not expecting Momo's Cheesecake to be as cool as it was. While visiting the area, some locals recommended that we take a visit to Momo's because of the delicious cheesecake. My initial idea was almost a rest stop where they had someone working 24/7, selling and making cheesecake. However, that concept was wrong! As it turns out, Momo's is a cute barn filled with cheesecake and decorated with sticky notes made by the customers! The place's charm really was different from anything I had ever seen before. We got multiple cheesecakes, including some gluten free ones. They tasted so good, and I'm not even a cheesecake kind of person! I recommend the blueberry one. Another unique feature of this place is that it runs on the honor system. There is no one working in the barn, so you are responsible for paying. Overall, Momo's Cheesecake is a delicious cheesecake shop. I think Momo truly has a gift for cheesecake. What a cool concept! Follow for more reviews!

This place is a gem and I will always, always shout its praises. I LOVE the idea of an honor system. I'm sure there are people who take advantage of it, but Momo has continued to be a light in the community. For that, I will support her all the more. The cheesecakes? Amazing. Clearly crafted with love and a passion; it's obvious in the flavors, creaminess, and presentation. Whether you get a whole cheesecake or opt for a slice, you are in for a delightful treat. You should definitely splurge on the whole shebang ;)

we found this place by accident and boy are we happy! if you are a cheesecake lover this is your place. i truly have never saw such a variety of flavors of cheesecake and every one is absolutely delicious. its amazing that they work on an honors system as well showing trust to there customers! i cannot wait to be back in the area. the only thing i am upset about is that i did not grab one of each flavor

Thank you Yelp for helping me find this gem!!! Our whole trip and this was my one request, must stop, item. Momo's did not disappoint. You must stop if you are in the area and love cheesecake! My husband loves cheesecake but sadly is not able to have many since he is now gluten free. Momo's even offers gluten free cheesecake! The day we went there were at least 4 different gluten-free varieties and he was so excited. For me I had an even more difficult time, sooo many yummy options. I opted for Kit Kat. The cheesecake was phenomenal. Kit Kats on top were stale so I skipped. Honor system, they take cash, checks and venmo. They even have a change box if you need it. Slice is $6 or you can buy a full cake!

This was place was such an amazing hidden gem! Saw this place on Yelp but also was recommended by our B&B hosts. We got a Cookie Monster type cheesecake slice packed with cookies and mini m&m's! Not only was the cheesecake delightful but they also had a nice outdoor setup on the lawn for you to enjoy on the spot. Another note - I originally was confused by the fact that this place is open 24/7 but that's because they are! The shop is based on the honor system, you grab your slice(s) and then pay with cash in the shop or via Venmo.

Discovered this place thanks to Yelp while traveling through the area. I love this place ! There are no employees and they use the honor system to pay - either cash or Venmo. And they are open 24 hours ! They have whoopie pies and fudge, but the cheesecakes were the star of the show. A must stop when in the area.

A must see. Open 24 hours. Lots and lots of cheesecake and flavors. It is a honor system. Super spectacular. We had the strawberry shortcake cheesecake and also the chocolate chip cheesecake. The strawberry slice was to die for. Not too sweet and it melts in your mouth. The chocolate chip slice was splendid. The chips are surprisingly not crunchy and melted into the cheese case for a nice creamy smooth bite. 100/10 would recommend.

What a great place! Who would ever expect a top quality 24 hour cheesecake store on the honor system in rural Maine. We were looking for a cake for my parent's 65th wedding anniversary and all the bakeries were closed. Then we found Momo's and the evening was saved.

These are top notch cheesecakes baked by Momo herself!! There are so many flavors to choose from plus an excellent carrot cake as well!! If you are anywhere near Ellsworth Maine, I promise it will be worth your while to stop in for a slice or two or a dozen!!

Heard about momo's on a road trip to bar harbor 24 hour cheesecake place have to check that out! Unbelievable had the maple bacon definitely the best cheesecake I have ever had quite possibly my favorite "bite" of anything I have ever eaten it's that good!!!!

Stopped here recommended by a friend. 24 hour self service dessert shop. The Reeses cheesecake was delicious but very rich so got to enjoy it two days. They have a huge selection of flavors. Cute little shop. They have a change box and accept Venmo as well for payment. If you love sweets it's a must stop shop

This is an amazing idea! Self serve - 24 Hour - excellent cheesecake! I got the Gluten Free Blueberry slice and it was the best cheesecake I ever ate! It is rare to get a GF dessert much less several different flavors that are delicious. My mom had the lemon cheesecake and loved it too. Overall, I saved this store in my Waze as a favorite and I will be back!

Omg! So darn good! Every flavor, almost. And it's hard to choose which one you want yo try. It is 24 hours and you pay "on-your-honor-system". They take cash, check, or Venmo. And a barn door filled with notes on how good these little delicacies are. Enjoy!

Like the one reason we can't live here....we've been here 3 times in 4 days. Pumpkin cheesecake for breakfast is just like having a pumpkin muffin right? Idk but that's what did today and it was amazing with the perfect blend of spices. My father in law was heartbroken tonight when they were sold out of the blackberry (he's only had 3 slices) and got blueberry as a back up choice and was happy with that. My husband had lemon raspberry which I tried a bite of and it was a perfect blend of tart and sweet. My mother in law had strawberry which she said was "flawless". They have some other items like "bombs" and baklava which I originally got (because I actually don't like cheesecake) and it was terrific with just the right amount of spice and moist without being drenched in honey.

I originally found this place on tik tok and had a vacation planned to Bar Harbor. We stopped on our drive back to Boston and it did not disappoint. The cheesecake was so good and it's such a unique store.

Ok, I haven't been writing reviews since Yelp took my elite status away, but OMG in this case I must! We come all the way from southern West Texas only to discover that Momo's husband grew up in the same small town! And talking to him was a real treat for both of us. Two coffee cups and a couple of Jarritos on the house left us totally in love with this family. We left the place with a genuine smile on our face. My wife gives them 5 stars and if they had six she would have scored it 6.* Oh, and the cheese cakes are totally AMAZING! We ate plain, strawberry topping, triple chocolate, and key lime. They have all flavors for the most picky of picky eaters. Needless to say, the honor system is real and Venmo makes it super easy. THIS IS A MUST STOP WHEN IN THE AREA! So if your in Bangor, or Acadia vacationing, go out of your way. You will not be disappointed. If you live here in Maine, and have never been, get in your car and go. *if you have read any of my previous reviews you know my wife gives stars like they cost her money! A five star review from her is so rare you could probably see a monkey riding a white elephant down Main Street before you see her select a fourth star (much less the fifth) in a review.

Okay - seriously! How did I not know this place existed prior to my annual pilgrimage to MDI this summer. Really? I'm asking. This is the second honor system bakery that I have discovered in the area and it will now also be a yearly stop for me - just like the other! While this place is a little off the beaten path, it wasn't at all hard to find. Instead of turning down the busy main street of Ellsworth - just go the other way. Just a couple of miles up the road on the right there will be a little house with a flag outside (I forgot to take a photo - darn it). In the garage, which is apparently open 24/7, there are coolers just filled with slices of cheesecake! The whole place is on the honor system (part of the reason it is 24/7). There is a cash box and you just leave $5.50 per slice you take. Really - only in Maine will you find honor system bakeries. And I love it! And flavors galore. In one cooler, I found the traditional flavors - strawberry, cherry, blueberry, and even a lone strawberry ruhbarb (which I snatched right up). The other - was filled with more unique flavors - many inspired by candy bars like kit-kat, almond joy, andes candies, heath bar, butterfinger, and more. There were also flavors like Turtle, Lemon, Raspberry Lemon, Cookie Dough - seriously I can just keep going. As I said, I ultimately landed on the Strawberry Rhubarb. It was perfect. The compote was just the right amount of sweet and tart and it was over the perfect denseness and richness cheesecake I've had in quite some time. Again - this place will be a mandatory stop for me every time I visit the area from now on. Go - you won't regret it.

This cute little shop is truly one of a kind! They had all kinds of cheesecake flavors, some you never even imagined! I think they stock up daily because we've been multiple times (LOL) and emptied slots had new slices the next day. The payment is by honor code. There's a box for your bigger bills and an open one to get change. IMPORTANT: they only accept Cash and Checks! Maybe one day they'll add Venmo/CashApp to their accepted payments but not yet as of the time I went I think. I've tried several ones and so far my favorite is the Key Lime and Blueberry. The Strawberry was pretty good too but the topping is a tad sweet for my preference. The Smores and Red Velvet weren't terrible but I prefer tart toppings/flavors to cheesecakes personally. Their base cheesecake isn't too sweet and their crust isn't overloaded with sugar. Very good texture, one of the best I've had!

They have a large assortment of flavored cheesecakes that you can buy by the slice or a whole cake! We got pumpkin chocolate chip and coconut. I have to say the pumpkin tasted just like pumpkin pie and was probably the tastiest cheesecake I've ever had! You pay by the honor system and leave your cash in a jar. Such a cute little place!

This place is a hidden gem and I can't believe I discovered it because I was eavesdropping on the people next to me during my vacation. I've never seen a place like this - it's completely on the honor system and you need to have cash or use Venmo (I think). Momo's Cheesecakes looks like part of someone's house or garage turned into a small shop. You enter the room and just grab whatever cheesecakes you want, calculate the total price of your haul, and drop the cash value into a locker box. Not only is the experience unique, the cheesecakes were DIVINE. I think this place has the best lemon blueberry cheesecake I've ever had.

I moved from Hawaii just three short months ago. This business was on my bucket list. Absolutely loved our selections. Terrific!

A nice little discovery while driving through Ellsworth on our way back and forth to Acadia. Being open 24/7 allowed us to skip deserts and pick up a slice or two (or three or four) for a late night snack. Excellent variety of flavors to suit anyone's taste. We even saved space in our cooler to bring home slices to continue our vacation experience.
