MoMo's Kuala Lumpur

Recent few visits, the reception staff kept asking to check if I have already paid for the tourist tax. When I said it's already included in the app during my booking and showed through the app, they still insisted that I find the email that states that I have paid for it. Not a smooth check in experience compared to the first few times I have stayed here. This is my 5th or 6th stay here due to the convenience + it was highly recommended by my local friend. I did liked the minimalist/Japanese aesthetics of this hotel and the thoughtfulness of the shower gel + shampoo (the essential oils included is intended to reduce insect bites; etc) provided. Cleaning staff also did relatively great jobs (no dust around the beds and such)! However, I have since came to realise that it's truly a hit or miss when it comes to the rooms. Some rooms are not exactly perfect (normal for the price and due to unruly guests), but some are close to breaking down?? Room 511 was one that has a terribly leaky shower head which would wet the whole bathroom floor and the bathroom floor mat whenever it's turned on. When I first removed the shower head from the wall-mounted shower head holder, the whole bar almost came out! Metal bin in the bathroom was rusty beyond words. Mouldy rubber sealants in the bathroom were covered over with new layer of sealant and continued being visible to the eyes. Inner bathroom door has specks of black mould. Wood at the sides of the bathroom door looked like some rat or insect came in and chew chunks off... I reflected the leaky shower head to the receptionist the next morning as I had checked in late and realised the issue really late into the night after my meal out. The receptionist told me that the technician will check the bathroom and then decide if a room change is necessary. Nobody got back to me about anything while I waited for a few hours in the room in case the technician came by and needed access. I did not get a change of room nor any update back on this issue I've reflected to the staff. Bring your own umbrella if you truly want to explore KL, because this place doesn't have any to rent out. I guess this will be my last stay here. I will be sourcing out a better place that doesn't cause me discomfort and frustration. (Also, no Netflix for the old Samsung smart TV. iPhone won't be able to connect to the TV to screen Netflix because both the Bluetooth of the Samsung smart TV and iPhone won't recognise each other. Don't bother trying the methods they have instructed on the TV.)

Pleasant enough stay. I like the concept of the hotel - it’s going for a laid back, hipster kinda vibe. The rooms are okay, and the bathrooms are adequate. If you’re looking for something a bit more luxurious then you won’t be impressed by this place - it’s very basic. But it’s definitely good value if you’re looking for a short term stay. Soundproofing isn’t great unfortunately. Like a lot of hotels in KL, the single-glazed windows do nothing to stop the sound of the busy streets echoing through your room. Reception provide earplugs… Good luck if you’re sensitive to noise in bed! The most frustrating thing about the hotel is actually the check-in process! You have to go online and fill in all your details… Why can’t reception just do this for you? It makes zero sense and adds so much unnecessary time onto the process. Guests just want to get access to their room asap after arriving!

We stayed at MoMo's Kuala Lumpur as a couple, and it turned out to be a really pleasant experience. The hotel has a modern, fun vibe that feels relaxed and welcoming, not too formal or stiff. Our room was cozy and well designed, small but comfortable, with a nice bed and everything we needed for a short stay. After spending the day walking around the city, it was a nice place to come back to and unwind together. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. They took the time to recommend local places to eat and explore, which made our trip feel more local and less touristy. Overall, MoMo’s felt easy, comfortable, and perfect for couples who want a simple but stylish stay in Kuala Lumpur.

She provided excellent recommendations on where to travel and which transportation options were the most suitable, which I really appreciated. This hotel is very budget friendly and great value for money. I love that the room, just nice for solo traveler or couples perfect for a short staycation. The room comes with its own toilet and is clean and hygienic, which made the stay comfortable. The soundproofing isn’t very strong. The lobby and catering area have a really chill vibe. I especially loved the bar lighting and the Christmas decoration, they added a nice, cozy touch. Service wise, I was truly satisfied. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout my stay. The location is another plus during my stay, within walking distance to the LRT and monorail stations, making it super easy to get around and travel to the heart of KL. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay. Would recommend for a short trip!

Perfect for what needed - short stay in KL for a couple of nights. The general vibe is cool, friendly and helpful staff, bar/cafe downstairs. Free water dispenser in the lobby- which we’ve come to learn is a big plus!! Rooms are small, little space to unpack especially as a couple but tbh it didn’t really bother us. Good AC and rooms are dark and quiet for a good nights sleep. Only real issue was that the shower leaked a little and there was no shower curtain so the whole bathroom ended getting quite wet.

Very central location and cheap grab to all the major attractions. Lovely staff, clean rooms and bathrooms with a real shower where you could determine exactly how cold or hot you wanted your water (rare for Asia). Comfy, clean beds and a tv. Lovely bar and public restrooms areas in the lobby. Although it was very central it wasn’t too loud and the ac was great. Dark, cold, quiet room at night. Overall perfect stay and would stay again if I’m ever in Kuala Lumpor.

I have a good time staying in Momo's. They have nice ambience and great location for commuter. Their room is pretty clean nice and minimalist interiors. The bathroom also very clean! The downside of this hotel is just they dont have sign on the road and the bed is bit stiff. The rest of it is very nice! I booked the bunk bed room
