"When I'm feeling a bit less ambitious and want to stick closer to home, a quick trip to Mom's Organic Market is always the right move. Mom's is a local organic market that has tons of super healthy, organic, and delicious options."

I really enjoy shopping at Mom’s Organic Market. The store is spacious and well laid out, making it easy to navigate. They have a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, prepackaged and frozen foods, meats, cheese, drinks (including wine), coffee, tea, baking essentials, and more. The staff is always friendly and helpful. One of my favorite things is that it's never too busy, so you can take your time without feeling rushed or impacting others. They don’t have self-checkout, but that’s not a big deal for me. Prices are a little higher than typical grocery stores, but the quality makes it worth it. And don’t forget to stop by the "Naked Lunch" counter on your way out – they always have something delicious!

This market offers excellent products—fresh, high-quality, and thoughtfully curated. However, despite the premium prices, it feels like they take their customers for granted. On the day I visited, the customer service was lacking. The staff seemed disengaged and uninterested, which, based on previous reviews, might be a case of selectively treating some customers with more respect than others. Great selection, but the experience didn’t match the expectations.

This market is always clean, well stocked and the staff is always friendly. They have great customer service and are always willing to help find products and make suggestions about items they may have on sale or items they have tried personally. This store is never overcrowded and it’s easy to get in and out. When there is more foot traffic they always have every cashier line open and the wait is minimal. The store can be a little expensive but the products are really good quality and they’re mostly organic or responsibly sourced types foods and products. I’m a big fan of the soaps and hair care products. I like to try different items each time.

I write this review extremely frustrated and wanted to express my concerns regarding an incident that occurred on March 22, 2025, during my visit to Mom's Organic. While I was in the store, speaking with an employee, my dog was with me, as usual. During this time, a child ran past my dog, prompting him to initiate playful behavior. This lasted no more than five seconds before I quickly redirected him, as he only intended to engage in a friendly interaction. However, during this brief exchange, Abyss, the store manager, approached and asked, "Is he good?" which I found confusing. The situation was so brief and harmless that I didn't understand why it was being questioned in such a manner. Shortly thereafter, Britni, another manager, became involved and made it clear that they were concerned about the situation. At one point, it seemed as though they were insinuating that I was not allowed to walk into the store with my dog, which was both unexpected and unsettling. To make matters worse, they accused my dog of lunging at the child, which simply did not happen. The interaction was innocent and playful, and there was no threat posed to anyone. Despite my attempts to clarify the situation, they refused to provide me with any written information regarding the store's policies or rules on dogs in the store. I also asked for corporate contact information, but they informed me that they were not "authorized" to give that out. This lack of transparency and willingness to provide clear information was frustrating. Additionally, I cannot help but feel that the treatment I received was racially biased. My dog, Knox, and I were singled out for behavior that was completely harmless, and the actions of the managers seemed out of proportion to the situation. I am disappointed by the way I was treated, as it left me feeling unwelcome and unfairly targeted. Specifically due to Britni saying "this dog is banned." As a result of this experience, I have made the decision to never return to this location again and to take further action. I believe there was a serious misunderstanding, and the manner in which the situation was handled was both unprofessional and distressing. I wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that never experience what I did today, as a faithful patron (who comes with my doggo each time).

Been here twice. First time, we got here at 7:52 and was able to be serviced by the Naked Lunch as we were only getting salad, some stuff steamed but not a labor intensive order. Got here tonight at 7:55 and was told they couldn’t prepare the salad. EVEN THOUGH all of the salad toppings and ingredients were staring at me in the front. I asked the man to please work with me, as it was not 8pm and my order was simple. He responded in a disrespectful manner. Customer service is not something these employees have been trained on and unfortunately I will not be coming back.

Love it! Always got good stuff, free coffee and free cups of cold water! Staff always kind and on point! I love that's is right next to planet fitness!

The store is poorly set up. I tried asking an employee for help and was met with a rude dismissal. It has a good selection, and I was still able to find what I needed despite the bizarre experience with the employee.

I would like to share my recent experience at the Moms Market in Ivy City, hoping that the owners will take this feedback into consideration to ensure no one else faces a similar situation in the future. Yesterday, I visited the store for some grocery shopping and decided to grab lunch at the Naked Lunch bar. Unfortunately, my experience there was disappointing. When I ordered a juice, there was no line initially, but by the time it was ready, three other customers had arrived. Despite still waiting to complete my order, the staff prioritized assisting the new customers before me. When I inquired about placing my order, I was asked to "calm down," which was surprising as I believed I was speaking calmly. Rather than escalating the situation, I walked over to the help desk. At the help desk, I spoke with the manager, Britini, who apologized for the staff's behavior but did not offer assistance in completing my order. As I explained my intention to order lunch, I was unexpectedly asked to leave the store. This was both shocking and upsetting, as I was simply seeking help to place my order. Today, I returned to the store hoping to resolve the matter and get lunch, only to discover that staff members had been instructed not to serve me via an email sent by the manager. This added to my frustration, as I feel the situation was mishandled. I am sharing this feedback not to cause conflict, but in the hope that appropriate action will be taken to improve customer service and ensure a welcoming environment for all customers.

Yelp
I love Mom's Organic. Their produce, meats, and breads always seem so fresh. They are probably the only place in the area that I can go to and easily buy dried herbs and loose tea. Their store is always organized and clean. And the staff is super friendly and helpful. It makes shopping such a relaxing and chill experience. They also have a salad section where you can buy salad or bowls. They have a wine section, parking, and they offer free tea/coffee. You can also fill up a jug for alkaline or filtered water. I'm always excited to shop here.

Yelp
I've really never reviewed MOM's, after all these years of being a semi-regular customer? It's like Whole Foods and Fresh Market had a baby... one that is more spacious, a bit pricier, but even more focused on organic and exclusive ingredients. Don't go here if you are a huge meat eater. Do stop in for a great selection of teas, produce (though $$$!), odds and ends, and beverages of all kinds. MOM's is known to be the only local shop I can count on to carry Southern Tier Pumking in the fall, for example. MOM's also has a great selection of kombucha and other fermented and interesting n/a drinks! You can park in the parking garage on level three; just be sure to validate your ticket inside. It didn't used to be required and now it is. The cashier's at MOM's are always friendly and efficient, though they tend to only have one lane open at a time. Best part of all for parents of littles -- aisles are BIG and it's a wonderful place to take a toddler or two if they just need to get out of the house and you want to have a nice little shopping experience. I have so many memories that involve MOM's as a destination so that I can buy fancy gnocchi with the true reason being that my kids have stuff to look at, the other customers are sparse, and there is room for littles to roam, or for the cart to spin around to keep them occupied. If you know you know.

Yelp
The customer service here rocks!! Everyone is so attentive, helpful and knowledgeable - it's like they live and breathe Mom's mission, which doesn't happen often in a grocery store chain. Their product is always stocked, and organized. I never leave without anything I needed. 5 stars for Mom's on NY Ave!

Yelp
MOM's Organic Market are programmers. They put ideas in the mind of employees. They tell you that Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and even YES! Organic Market are the worst. This is how they attempt to make you MOMs compliant. If you do not like MOMs and purchase things from another competitor, they will write you up and make you watch the videos again. The ambiance of the store is strange. I will continue to shop at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and even YES! Organic Market. I refuse to become brainwashed by their "WE ARE THE BEST" propaganda. This is why I completely denounce everything MOMs and continue to shop where I am comfortable which are the stores listed above.

Yelp
My favorite grocery store! Consistently provide good produce, organic wines (and non), and a big bulk area. Almost everything is organic, and they have a good selection of baby foods, that our grandkids love. They also have a good selection of organic herbs, bulk or packaged, and all the good brands of canned goods, supplements, soaps, and vitamins. Almost all our family's shopping is done here (and they have free coffee!).

Yelp
This is the best grocery store in DC, by a long stretch. They have the widest and highest-quality selection of produce - way, way better quality than Whole Foods. They also have a huge selection of gluten free breads, snacks, and more. A vegetarian family member also noted that it's the best selection of meat alternatives they've ever seen in a grocery store. Meat-eaters shouldn't shy away though: they actually have a better selection of meat than other stores, with bison, elk, wild boar and more on top of the traditional staples like chicken, pork, ground turkey, beef, etc. Most of all, I appreciate all the conscientious choices Mom's makes. High-quality compostable bags for your produce, an area by the entrance to recycle old clothes and other household goods, and more. People are nice and they validate parking.

Yelp
Nice clean store and very friendly employees. Went this past Saturday and was able to find gluten-free ramen. Success!

Yelp
I absolutely ADORE this store. Not only is the mission amazing - to provide healthy, local food and protect the environment by supporting sustainable food and organizations that protect the environment - but it's just a beautiful store with kind employees and amazing products. It's a large store with high ceilings and wide aisles (great for social distancing!) and they provide hand sanitizer at the entrance. Their produce is beautiful and they have a local producers represented. The aisles are packed with delicious organic foods, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free options. They even have a section of "sustainable protein" with crickets, mealworms, and insect protein powders! Their frozen section is also jam packed with fantastic brands and fun items. Going to this store is a treat instead of a chore! They also offer a lunch counter with juices, smoothies, and fresh hot "bowls" for a quick bite to eat. I also love that they have a recycle center at the front of the store to recycle batteries, tablets (like iPads), glasses, shoes, and other items. They have a sharing shelf that allows folks to drop off ice packs and freezer bags for others to use, as well. At the holidays, they have a drop box to recycle string lights.

Yelp
I normally only frequent this MOM's after my workouts at a local gym, for their Naked Lunch. I give the service at the Naked Lunch 3.5 stars. It's typically pretty slow, so expect to spend at least 15-20 mins waiting in line to be helped during lunch time . I usually get the Kale Caesar salad that is super yummy! The salad has quinoa, carrots and cheese but I get the roasted garlic dressing and minus the artichoke heart and it is very tasty! I actually have eaten this salad over 2 days! It's very filling and feels pretty healthy :) I have also ordered the black bean burger, that comes with cheddar cheese and an avocado spread on a very thin multigrain bun. This is my absolute FAVE and is soooo delicious when I feel like I need extra carbs in my belly!! Lately, I've created my own salad or steam bowl. The staff is very friendly and does their best to get you to your delicious creation as quickly as possible. I also love their Green Tea Glory fresh pressed juice! Yummy and healthy!

Yelp
Might objectively be one of the best grocery stores I've been to the in the area, only amplified by this pandemic honestly. I mean, it's in the name - Organic. The selection and volume may not be as big as your typical chain stores, but the quality is there. Lemons were juicier, with pretty great selection of cheeses as well. They had more brands of ginger ale than they had any right to hold, plus I could actually stock up on all of my spices and baking needs without hopping to another store. Plus the snack selections can get pretty out there is as well. It's hard to describe, but it felt like Whole Foods was getting out-Whole Foods'd. Definitely gotta try their counter food station next time, but fresh ingredients, friendly faces and a seamless shopping trip is all I need.

Yelp
5 stars for the staff. Some of the most friendly people on the planet work here. The ladies and gentlemen, that work behind the juice counter are fantastic. The check out people are always friendly and very nice. I will go here because of the staff is great.

Yelp
Absolutely love my neighborhood Moms. It's a breath of fresh air coming into a spacious health conscious, clean grocery store. They always have someone in the health and wellness section to assist you in your search and answer questions.

Yelp
Best grocery store service we've experienced -- MOM's super helpful staff gladly loaded things into the car for my pregnant wife, after helping find every oddball item on our epic shopping list. Crucially, everything (including fresh fruits and veggies, toilet paper, soap, etc.) is in stock during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, this recently-built store has uncrowded, wide aisles that ease social distancing. An easy way to support sustainable, socially-responsible shopping. As Dr. Steve Brule says, "check it out!"

Yelp
MOM's used to be our favorite grocery store. However, during last time visit, we met one psycho in the store. He was not buying anything. After he saw 2 Asians, he was talking some dirty languages to my friend and followed us to the cashier. Thanks god he did not attack us although I reached teaser and pepper spray in my packets since DC's law is not allowed me to carry deadly weapons. MOM's is always a great grocery store which deserves 5 stars. I just hope the government could do something about our safety.

Yelp
This is the first time I've experienced bad service in this store. Jason S. who was my cashier was very rude and dismissive. After he rang my items up he just stared at me, didn't tell me my total, say he was done or anything. He then proceeded to throw my items... literally...into the bags in disorder while shrugging his shoulders looking like he could careless. He then just walked away. I asked for my receipt, he said it's right there...and pointed to the machine for me to get it myself. His customer service is horrible, if it was my first time there I wouldn't return.

Yelp
I'm so happy Mom's Organic Market exists in D.C.!! Things I love about MOMs and especially this location (not in any particular order): Garage parking Free coffee/tea Naked Lunch Next to planet fitness $0.10 bag discount when you use your own Sells kombucha Offers growler refills of kombucha Has all the organic and healthy foods I like Some items are cheaper here than elsewhere Offers samples every now and then Doesn't sell ANY water bottles Recycling bins separate different kinds of materials The workers are kind I wish they were open later sometimes but luckily Whole Foods on H St is open til 10:30, so that's a good alternative. I hear Aldi is getting ready to go full organic too. Watch out MOMs! You're still number 1
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite markets because they make healthy food options accessible. There's a Naked Lunch kitchen inside the store that offers varying grain bowls for lunch and dinner hours. Super yummy organic juices and muffins are available in the morning and through closing. If you're looking for a quick lunch, this market is the best alternative to fast food spots. Besides the Naked Lunch kitchen, there are also refrigerated items available for quick meals, like sushi rolls, packaged single serving of lasagna, cold sandwiches, cake slices, and much more. Most items feature local shop foods, which is great to see. Also, this location is beautiful as a part of the Ivy City aesthetic with industrial designed architecture. Definitely my go to organic market!

Yelp
This is a nice, spacious MOM's location. There is parking in the building (the old Hecht Company warehouse complex) and the elevator from the 3rd floor of the garage takes you directly into the store. The first 90 minutes of parking is free for retail customers. I observed them sanitizing carts. The only negative was that apparently, in order to access the bathroom, you need a receipt from a purchase. We had a child in our party who needed the BR right when we arrived so this requirement made life difficult.
google avatar

Jose P.

Yelp
We don't own a car and this location is about 4-5 miles from our house, but when we go to union market, we make it a point to stop by Mom's. It is the only one in their chain in the city (that I know of). If you are into organic and/or gluten free, this is the place to go. This is better than Whole Foods and bigger than Yes! They are always friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I hadn't been to MOM's, I don't live near one so I wasn't compelled to seek one out until this Saturday. I wanted to do some heavy duty recycling and hit up a hot bar. Research told me that MOM's was what I was looking for. My first impression was that the store was bright and clean. I liked that. It wasn't hard to find the Recycling Center and it was more thorough that I expected. I brought batteries and shoes mainly but next time I am bringing Snack bags, Bubble Wrap and Brita filters. Made my day. I then walked over to the Naked Lunch counter and ordered a smoothie and a Cauliflower Steak. To kill time I went over to get some Japanese Sweet Potatoes and some Cilantro, two of my favorites. Paying for my items was a breeze, parking didn't need to be validated, the first hour is free. By then my Cauliflower Steak was ready and I was on my way. Everyone who works here is nice. I even ended up talking to a nice guy also waiting or his food. My visit was utterly top-notch, I'm now a fan.

Yelp
Long has MOM's Organic Market been the king of all healthy grocery stores in the DC area, with locations sprouting up in suburban Maryland, Virginia, and even Pennsylvania, but now, finally, you don't have to go to one of those pesky "states" to get it. We finally have a true five-star food store in the nation's capital. This place is huge. Twice as big as any Yes Market, and not a great deal smaller than some of the area's numerous Whole Foods, but so much better. Virtually every healthy, green, and local brand you care to name can be found here, ample support for any special diet, and along with the food, it has all the household products, health and beauty, and pet stuff you'd expect from any conventional grocery store. They also have a fast casual cafe which I swear I will try some day. On top of that, their prices were, for items I checked, no higher than the suburban MOM's I visited last month. Which is to say, lower than any natural foods store and competitive with non-specialty stores at times, a fact they proudly advertise on the elevators leading down from their (free, as far as I can tell) parking garage. They also have plenty of sales, and there's no membership needed to get them. And they do it all while paying their workers more than minimum wage and supporting a variety of good causes. I do not know how they do this, but I suspect it involves responsible business practices, hard work, and witchcraft of some sort. The one thing that concerns me, though is the location. It's not really close to the Metro. Parking support is here, but New York Avenue offers some of DC's gnarliest traffic SNAFUs, even during non-rush hour (I say as a veteran commuter from all around the DMV). In the suburbs, it's kind of okay that MOM's is always a bit off the beaten path, because people drive everywhere. In DC, people walk and take transit. As a one-time suburbanite, I brought my car with me to the city, but I do wonder how many people will drive here and what the local environment will be when the massive development around it (MOM's is currently the only occupied space that I saw) is finished. That being said, it's totally worth the trouble if you can make it. Until they open a location in my neighborhood (are you listening MOM's? We have tons of hippies and health nuts in AdMo and the neighboring areas), I'll be in regularly.

Yelp
I love everything about this grocery store, but the location. I live in NoMa, so we have Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Streets Market, Harris Teeter, and Giant all within walking distance. I've been meaning to check Mom's Organic Market out for the past 18 months, but never got around to it because it's situated along a busy multilane road with heavy traffic. It's not convenient for those who walk, bike, or metro -- which is ironic, given the earth-friendly/pro-environment theme to the store. It almost demands driving to get here, but I did walk the 30 minutes along the highway(?) each direction with bags to check this place out. With that said, the store is beautiful. It's clean, the staff friendly, everything is organized and a pleasure to browse. Everything about the store screams a staff that takes pride in the place. Where in the other grocery stores listed above you find dirty carts that haven't been cleaned in years, fruits scattered on the floor bruised, jars busted and in need of clean-up, and bathrooms that look like someone has turned them into a campsite, Mom's is different in every way. It's near immaculate. I love the choice and variety of products. It has most of what you'll find at Whole Foods, Thrive Market online, and even additional local items. Also it's not as pricey as some of the boutique grocers in the city. Love it - would like to come more often, just need to find an easier way to get here when you don't have a car.

Yelp
What can be said that hasn't already been said by others, like John B.? This place is a breath of fresh air and organic awesomeness in local business format. I love MOM's Organic Markets all over the region, but, they can be a challenge to reach in a reasonable amount of time if you live in the District. Finally, one is here! The location is not very convenient, but at least it's IN DC, at last! Something to give Yes! a run for their money? Perhaps. One thing I found odd though, was the wide aisles in the store. It's nice to be able to roll down with your cart, have someone else roll down with his/her cart, and still be able to let a person walk through, all at the same time, but, it made the place feel a bit more warehouse-y than I would like. So, other than the far location for DC proper and the spacious aisles with the warehouse feel, this place is splendid. It has everything I could think of wanting to purchase when at a market. The produce section looks small in the large setting, but it is actually quite extensive for promoting local, organic ingredients. The bulk options are incredible. Some items are pre-packaged for ease of customer and probably staff. Still, again, in looking at the choices of nuts, beans/ legumes, dried fruit, grains, baking ingredients, cereals and all else, it is so extensive, I couldn't think of anything that wasn't there! For raw food enthusiasts, plenty to choose from all over the store, and a section near the liquor, too, of pre-made raw items. More extensive selection than any other market, if you ask me. For bar addicts, wow - I was overwhelmed, too, with the aisle full of choices. There were a couple that I had never seen before at a MOM's or otherwise in the area, and, yes, I quickly decided to buy some. The chocolate bars, too, wow, so many choices. It's actually good I don't live closer, because raw foods, bars and chocolate bars are pricy items that would make me broke if i lived here. However, the prices are still as good, if not better than any other place around. The other final thing I'll comment about in this store is Naked Lunch! Sometimes, after grocery shopping, you are hungry and tired, and well, yes - you're in luck. No need to go home and prep your meal, you can get one here. It's all organic and all vegetarian- awesome. They have fresh juices that are pressed to order - impressive. The folks here are super nice, too. Every month, they have specials on some items that might normally be more expensive. There are also great produce specials, too. Keep coming back, you'll find something new! What is holding me back from going there now? My wallet doesn't want a hole burned in it... so many amazing choices!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite grocery stores. I can shop rest-assured that I'm getting quality products. The staff is super nice and helpful, and the shopping experience is peaceful and quiet. Not chaotic like many other grocery stores that tend to be overcrowded and understaffed. They are kind of pricey, but it's worth it if you value healthy eating.

Yelp
The Space: This Mom's is very clean and well organized. You can find a wide selection of kombucha and canned cold brew. They even have some no carb chocolates and gluten-free bread. There a lot of items for specific diets. The Staff: The staff is extrmely friendly and very helpful. I've never been in a grocery store were workers will actively seek you out and ask if you need assistance. The Price: This is more of an expensive grocery story. I usually go here if I need a very specific item. Otherwise, there might be better options to do your casual grocery shop.

Yelp
Wow! Quite different from one in Alexandria. Big, clean, new, relaxing, various,... Good location close to Union market and a great national park. Tasty drink and snack samples. Easy to find and compare products. No lines. Live kitchen and seats to drink and eat. Much more expensive than average supermarkets tho.

Yelp
This is the coolest, most good-looking MOM's Organic Market I've ever seen. It's in the up and coming neighborhood of Ivy City. It offers every natural and organic food you can imagine and sell every variety of Honest Tea (woo hoo!). They also have a coffee stand in the back and a lunch stand in the front that makes healthier for you salads Chipotle service style. If you're in the area, definitely stop by!

Yelp
Everything Lia M. said in her review of this Mom's, I would just like to agree with and I won't repeat what she said. What drew me here was a Groupon I bought that allowed me to spend $35 on ANYTHING. First, I walked in and saw the selection of craft beer and ciders and was like "that's where the $35 is going", but when I actually walked around this Mom's which is tremendously huge, I found several food items I wanted so I was slowly replacing bottles of beer with food items. Impressive cheese selection, loved the bulk items (I buy farro by the pound and it is much cheaper here than at Whole Foods), and a HUGE frozen section. They offer free popcorn and coffee while you shop, and there is a sampling station. The extra bonus, on a Sunday morning, this place was empty, whereas other supermarkets would be hella packed. Parking was effortless, they have a garage and lots of street parking. There was no line to check out and the staff that helped me check out was great. Although, the location is not great and I'm not sure which residential communities this store is particularly convenient to, I would not hesitate to stop in whenever I might be close by.

Yelp
Stopped here yesterday on impulse (driving by) and thought it was a great store. All sorts of delicious treats, great selection (including in my opinion of produce), extremely friendly staff, and the Naked Lunch counter sold me some really good soup which made for a wonderful snack. My only very small gripe is the parking--and that's not the fault of MOM's Organic Market. I had to wait a bit but did get a space-had to pay for it, though.

Yelp
Love this location, the employees are always great, it's clean, they have a good selection of brands despite the size (as I see others complain about). For the size it's perfect to me, and Naked Lunch is amazing! Oh and I love catching good finds on their sale rack. I would also bet their produce to be the best in the area. Everywhere else produce has been .....questionable. There's only one con: It's expensive as hell compared to other places. I'll make the same grocery list and end up paying just a tad more :-/ But I'll overall, MOM's Organic is wonderful.

Yelp
I really love this location of MOM's. It's huge and well-stocked and everything I typically get at MOM's they carry, plus some. Parking here is easy--street or garage. It's not convenient for me, but that doesn't mean I won't make my way out here, especially on a weekend. Along with their typical sample offerings, they also have popcorn, and a seasoning bar, which includes Old Bay. This makes shopping while hungry much easier. I like Naked Lunch, and am glad they have one here. Of course there will be comparisons to Yes!, but to me, they are completely different entities. Yes! is an urban organic store--they have basics and then some, and it's the place you go to when you run-out of something, or don't feel like going to a big store (which would probably be me if I lived in DC). It's convenient. Yes! is even convenient for me, and I don't even live in DC. MOM's is where you go when you want to really stock up, or you have a car and don't care if you need to drive.

Yelp
After coming to this store at least 4 times in the past 7 days, I felt that my initial review was a little hasty. That is to say, now that me and Mom's Ivy City have become BFF's, and the people in the store/manager recognize me as the lady who comes here everyday and eats a bag of their tasty FREE organic popcorn and a cup of fair trade coffee, and takes her sweet time at the sample table (they've had freshly made salad with guacamole, bbq chicken wings, pan fried trout, brownies, PLUS valentines day packaged samples of cookies, gummy bears, and a bountiful coupon basket for items they sell!!! For me, their customer service area is how I would imagine Christmas feels like for a little kid), there are more things I have appreciated about this particular location: 1) Customer service is so extra helpful. I'm not talking about basic questions...I am a DIFFICULT customer (not intentionally), but during my last visit, for example, they searched online for a harissa recipe and printed out a copy for me to have, and gave a detailed explanation of the additives in their lines of Mom's vitamin products and the biochemical mechanisms that go into the absorption of CoQ10. Before that, it was a mango lassi recipe, and they had a local dairy farmer in the store that day who decisively weighed in on the debate of yogurt vs. buttermilk. The store manager is also very understanding. 2) They sell their delicious farmed rainbow trout here Friday-Sunday. It's $9.99/lb and therefore, not the cheapest trout around, but they seem to put a lot of effort into making sure they are providing the most sustainable fish offerings possible. They also sell oysters, which are directly used to naturally filter the Chesapeake. Trout is only available at this location and Rockville. 3) This is the biggest, cleanest, most organized store EVER!!! When popcorn falls on the floor, I have to remind myself that the floor is still dirty, even if it looks cleaner than my dishes at home. The aisles in the store are wider than many/most restaurants and clubs in DC...if they had music on, I probably would dance. And when you drive in, you can see the wind turbines serving up all the store's electricity!!! The clean bathrooms have baby changing stations and soap you are excited to try. 4) I have NEVER had any errors with items ringing up incorrectly. Nobody asks, "what is this?" THEY KNOW!!! 5) Famous people shop here! Former presidential candidate and super cool dude Dennis Kucinich and his stunning wife were behind me in line at the checkout yesterday. But then again, why wouldn't they be shopping here!? I also reunited with an old friend here and met some ladies from Lesotho (I had never previously met people from there)...because again...awesomeness attracts cool people. 6) Empty parking lot!!! I don't even go up to the parking lot because I can usually find a space right outside the front door...but on the rare occasion that it's raining or something, it's nice to be able to park right in front of the elevator too. And as I've mentioned before, they also have charging stations for electric cars. 7) Naked Lunch...not all stores have this, but they can pretty much make whatever vegetarian combo you want out of the ingredients they have...they also have smoothies and a frozen yogurt-like dessert.

Yelp
This is a great store. They offer a wide array of organic products and exciting and unique produce and fun new ethnic options sometimes otherwise hard to find organic. The produce section is full of local offerings. The beauty, body, supplement, vitamin aisles are full of quality products and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful about the daunting subject. Prices are comparable to other grocers in the area when buying organic and/or similar products. The store is always clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Shout out to Adriane for going above and beyond, helping me out with some Cotton Candy grapes earlier this season! Such great service from the whole staff though! Keep it up guys...we need more grocers and staff like you. You guys make eating and living clean and healthy extremely accessible and natural (the way it should be)! "Naked Lunch" is awesome too when it's open! I highly recommend MOM'S for everyone

Yelp
I live next door and go to Mom's for random snacks from time to time. The prices here are very high which is what you would expect from any organic store. They don't sell bottled water or regular soda which I find annoying. Also, you can't buy regular over the counter medication here. This place takes organic and all natural to a ridiculous extreme in my opinion. I don't get the niche of this place at all. You would think they would carry regular items on top of all the weird stuff they carry but they don't.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I love all MOMs locations. I will always shop at MOMs until the day a worker has to wheelbarrow me out of the store because I've choked on all their free samples. But HOLD ON. This particular MOMs is very special for one big reason: FREE POPCORN. If you think that is not a big deal, well, maybe you're right. But it is to me. The popcorn is cooked in coconut oil and there is a toppings bar with nutritional yeast and old bay and stuff. Whoever was in charge of deciding to give away free popcorn to entice customers, damn, you really succeeded. Congrats! And thanks! Other things that make me love MOMs: free coffee. The best produce of any grocery store. All my favorite products, only cheaper than they are at places like Whole Foods. So many free samples. Super-nice employees, like nicer than my friends are sometimes. Amazing selection. And they sell my favorite beer! Oh yeah, and location, duh!! This location is so close to my home and it's one of the only grocery stores around. I cried the first time I went here, OK? And it was the good kind of crying.

Yelp
Best grocery store for us for all kinds of reasons. MOM's helps us reduce plastic use--we avoid plastic packaging and plastic bags as much as possible. We buy organic as much as possible regardless of cost because we want our food shopping to support healthier habitats for critters other than just ourselves. And organic (or pesticide-free) farm practices are so much better for farm workers and for our lakes, rivers and oceans. We find our favorite produce at MOM's and our favorite bulk items. The cashiers are always friendly and polite, and the stores are always clean and beautifully put together. When we get our electric car, we will use the charging station there. MOM's is just ahead of the times here in the Mid-Atlantic. Our nearby co-op, GLUT, for all that they support some great practices, has switched to more plastic bags than before, which made us shop there less often, sadly. So we shop at MOM's more! MOM's is beautiful, their food is delicious, and their practices help us to be more environmentally conscientious. Love MOM's!

Yelp
I might sound overly zelouse, but I have never went to a MOM'S Organic that I didn't like. Compared to other organic markets the prices are normally lower. The service can't be touched and it is so nice that they offer to carry your bag out for you. I have been to one I think in Rockeville maybe and they didn't offer (maybe someone forgot). Now I will say that the store is not as big as the other well none organic market, but MOM'S has a very good stock of most any thing you can imagine. Matter of fact they have dried White Kidney Beans the other well none organic market doesn't. If you like shopping organic and don't want to pay an arm and a leg Try MOM'S. Until next Yelp Vonnie

Yelp
Great beer selection and the Naked Lunch is easily one of the best deals in DC. Smaller store but carries most items you'd want but not the same variety as a Whole Foods.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever rated a grocery store 5 stars. I LOVE this Mom's store. I like all of the Mom's that I've been to but this location is my favorite. I'm pretty sure it's called Mom's because it is like a real life mom. It's nurturing, caring, pretty, and responsible. Knowing that they are selling me only organic and lots of local produce literally makes me feel healthy and nurtured. I hate having to settle for conventional at Whole Foods when they don't have the organic option. I don't have to make that devastating decision at Mom's. I go to Whole Foods almost everyday because it's right near my home, so I've done my own price comparisons. Almost everything at Mom's is cheaper including their black soap and Urban Moonshine Bitters. I have to admit, their almond butter is so expensive which means that I still get my almond butter at WF. In summary, this is the best grocery store ever. It's large and clean annnnd they staff here is the friendliest ever. There's also free parking. Yay!

Yelp
Sorry Whole Foods, but we're breaking up! I love Mom's now instead. Mom's has plenty of parking, wide aisles, fresh and seasonal and organic and affordable produce, ample vegan and gluten free packaged and processed foods, free samples, and a vegan/vegetarian juice shop and cafe. I will never shop anywhere else again!

Yelp
It's amazing how far costumer services and relations can go. However, I guess some people just don't get that. Based on my experience yesterday at the NY AVE location. I urge you not to shop at any MOMS location especially this one. Though im not one for gentrification, I was born and raised in the IVY CITY Trinidad community (4th Generation and YES I still live there) Therefore, I try my best to support businesses in my community-including the ones who didn't consider coming to the neighborhood until the pigmentation started to change. Yesterday, I decided to go to my local grocery store to purchase a few produce items-as I normally do. However, this day was much different. As I walk into the store, I noticed a loss prevention guy (Andy) -which I was both happy & sad to see. As a business owner, I truly understand asset protection on the other hand I ask myself is this really needed for MOM's based on their clientele? As I began my shopping of (4 potatoes and a bulge of celery) I realized that Andy had eft his post and is in the same aisle as me. At this time, I'm nothing thinking anything of this. So, I move on to see if MOM's has anymore products that I might need. I'm now about 5 aisle over and guess who's in the aisle? That's right the loss prevention guy! At this time im aware that he's in the same aisle as me but I'm thinking, coincidence. However, I say let me just make sure. So, I deiced to move into an aisle that makes no sense to see if this guy is still following me and of course, there he is. At this time, I'm still giving benefit of doubt. so, I just decide to check out. As, I walk up to the check out, I feel someone basically running up behind me and I don't think I need to tell you who it was. As I check out, I began talking to the cashier (The same guy who rang me up the previous day) and ask, why is this guy following me? Of course he has no idea. Until the moment I pull out cash, Andy stands their and watches me like a hawk. At this point, I'm extremely upset but I keep my cool. I walk out and I realized that this treatment is completely unfair and discriminatory. So, I turn around and decide that I would like to speak with a supervisor. The wonderful cashier at this time is talking to the loss prevention guy and as I walk back in, I hear "this guy is cool- he shops here all the time" at this time, the loss prevention guy is in front of me and I ask him directly, "why were you following me around the store?" Of course he denies but yet apologizes about doing it. At this time the loss prevention guy physically touches me (Battery) in an attempt to apologize. I say, no im good and I would like to speak to a manager. A manager is then paged to come to the front. As she arrives (Ms. Hernandez) I politely introduce myself to her and tell her what the issue is/was. She first seemed unaware that she doesn't even know she has a loss prevention guy. the she responds to me with , " ITS HIS JOB TO FOLLOW YOU AROUND THE STORE" So, I ask, why was I the only one being followed? She responded once again, "ITS HIS JOB" at this time I noticed that I wasn't getting anywhere with her, so I asked to her name and how to contact corporate. She gave me her name and the store number and told me to figure out how to contact corporate myself and walked away. I then leave the store and do research to figure out how to contact corporate. I call and was unable to get in contact with anyone so, I left a message. it's now been over 30hours without any outreach from MOMS corporate. It's clear that MOMs really doesn't care about it's customer base or maybe its just their customers of color? I will never shop at your locations again and I urge others of all colors to choose other grocery providers in our community. (WHOLE FOODS ON H ST is NOW OPEN) We need to let MOMS know that we have options and that discrimination and profiling shall and will not be tolerated in our community. We also need to let MOMS know that, if you want to keep your traffic flow in your stores you need to engage with your customers. SN: My major issues here are; Lack of employee training (turns out it was Andy's first day) the blatant openness of discrimination by management and the lack of consumer relations by corporate.

Yelp
I'm a health enthusiast, avid juicer and plant based foodie and MOM's Organic Market is my favorite store. Their quality control is the best I've seen. I've literally dropped produce on the floor (accidentally and within seconds an employee (with a polite smile) took it to the back to wash it. Being an avid juicer, I find this very important and greatly appreciated. Although I wash my produce before I consume them, it's good to know that they are on top of they're quality control methods. My refrigerator looks like a beautiful garden thanks to MOM's. The customer service is pretty good, definitely better than other grocery stores in the area. It's a great store for plant based people, vegans and vegetarians and those who are looking to invest in their health. The meat options are of good quality but the meat section is very small. The produce aisle is definitely the star of the store. Also, they carry a a lot of familiar vegan brands like MALK, Treeline, Miyokos and Forager to name a few. It feels more like grocer in a small town than it does a grocery store in a major urban city. Don't forget to grab an organic salad, bean burger, soup or freshly pressed juice from the Naked Lunch Counter!

Yelp
I'm a fan! I love establishments/businesses that go out of their way to make the customer happy. Recently I've been basically trying to recreate Buffalo Wild WIngs - Mango Habanero Wings. I found the copy cat recipe online and talked with one of my friends that use to be a cook at a Bdubs many moons ago. (Yes I like Bdubs that much). So I bought my chicken (check), the next thing I needed was beef tallow oil/fat. Buffalo Wild Wings doesn't cook their chicken in any type of oil. They use beef tallow fat. So I'm thinking to myself where can I find that? I did some research and found that MOM's markets sell them. However when I called around to all of the MOM's markets none of them had any. I was pretty disappointed, however I received a call back from a nice young woman that said they can special order it for me. Now I've been through this process before. I feel like grocers tell you that and never get back to you. I i figured that this was going to happen just as any other time. However they didn't disappoint. It took about a week to get in. They called me as soon as it arrived. I drove to their NEW location, which I'll say was really easy to find, clean, presentable, and the employees were extremely nice. I'll be going back for any other items Ill need in the future. I'm extremely happy with their service. P.S. My wings turned out EXACTLY like Buffalo Wild Wings haha! No need to go there anymore! Save money!

Yelp
I didn't purchase anything when I stopped by last Friday, but wow is it tidy and big. The aisles are wide, the shelves well stocked, and the options plentiful. In fact, there was a section for sustainable proteins which included flavored mealworms and crickets. They also had a little area by the drinks for free filtered water served in compostable cups.

Yelp
I love this market! The Naked Lunch is my favorite... I love the kale Caesar salad it is definitely the best salad that I've had I work right down the street so I visit Moms at least 3 times a week.. the best part about the salad is that it's huge so I eat half for lunch and the rest for dinner. If you live in this area please make it your business to take a trip to Moms. So yesterday I tried the Black Bean burger and was AWESOME! It was very filling I had it for lunch and I did not even attempt to eat dinner... please try it you won't regret it!

Yelp
I hardly ever write reviews for businesses. However my trip to moms organic market was definitely a great experience. I have been trying to eat better and a friend suggested that I turn to this business to support my new eating endeavors. I was told they had an extensive wellness section. I encountered two remarkable employees Therese and Lequan ; they both had amazing customer service and Lequan shared his knowledge of products that would help me in this journey . The young man went above and beyond , as he was being pulled in many directions for a variety of other customers , he maintained dedicated to my needs and questions . Therese smiled with a warm and welcoming hello. Thanks for making this journey easier. I was hesitate initially as I didn't know what to Expect. However this trip to Moms proved to be warm and educational.I will be back!

Yelp
This is a beautiful, small store with excellent products. However, it ia soooo expensive, I won't go there again. Much more than Whole Foods.
