Mom's Pan-Fried Bun 老娘水煎包 | Downtown

One of my favorite places. A great spot for breakfast or lunch — consistently fresh food and quick, efficient service. This was another visit for us, as we come back every couple of weeks, and it never disappoints. What we ordered Cold Appetizer • Tripe with sesame sauce – well balanced, fragrant, and nicely textured. Hot Appetizers • Intestines with garlic sauce – bold flavor, cooked properly with great seasoning. • Cumin chicken wings – aromatic and addictive. • Braised pork pan-fried buns – crispy on the bottom, juicy inside; always a favorite. Soup • Wonton soup – comforting and clean in flavor. Dessert • Deep-fried milk – crispy outside, soft and creamy inside; a great way to finish the meal. For this amount of food, we spent around $55, which is excellent value for the quality and variety. Every visit leaves us feeling satisfied and happy. Will definitely be back again soon.

So happy to have finally tried this place! I wish there were more dumpling flavours but the ones here did not disappoint l. They were soo tender! The noodles are nice and chewy, the flavours were all awesome. I see why they chained up quickly. Come to Leslieville!

Decent food and fast service, but it doesn't have the soup dumplings that the other locations have. Food isnt as good as the other locations, but its still the most affordable places to eat in the area ($10 for bowl of noodles, $6 for wings)

My favourite Chinese spot for cheap eats! Everything on the menu is super affordable and EXTREMELY YUMMY. My favourites are definitely the pan-fried pork dumplings, the spicy popcorn chicken, the bean sprouts fried noodles, and the fried milk. Service is extremely fast and attentive. The team of chefs work wonders!!!

This was hands down one of our favorite meals in Toronto. It’s a no-frills spot but the food was out of this world. There was one woman working the floor, taking orders and greeting everyone, and she handled it like a pro. We ordered buns, noodles, a burger, and seaweed salad, and everything was fresh, fast, and delicious. We left full and happy. Family-friendly and so worth the stop.

For the price, 5 stars. The cold noodles were tasty, and the pan fried buns were awesome. The braised beef noodle soup kind of lacked but was good for the price. The steamed dumplings were meh, wish we went fried dumplings. They cheaped out on the cheese powder on the wings, was kind of sad. But for the price, not disappointed at all.

The food is so heart-warming, fresh and simple - just like home-cooked meals. We ordered braised beef noodle soup and beef with rice. Both of them tasted amazing! Looking forward to visiting more on cold days.
