We spent one week at the wonderful "Jardin en Ville" with its magnificent scenery in Montpellier. The house was very clean, furnished elegantly and we felt very comfortable in our room (Tulipe Noir). The breakfast was a real treat! There were regional and homade products as well as fresh fruit every morning. We were deeply impressed to find a nice swimming pool in a beautiful garden in the middle of town.||Marie-Jose and her husband welcomed us very warmly and gave us lots of useful and interesting information about the fantastic city of Montpellier and its surrounding. The city centre of Montpellier is only ten minutes away by foot.||||Thanks again for your warmness and hospitatlity.||A bientot!

My wife and I were on our holiday in the south of France we were camping but decided to stay in a B&B for a few days to have a change. We found Mon Jardin en Ville in the lonely planet, it is a lovely property. We stayed in suite Tulip Noire, it is described as minimalist. It was quite a large flat with a bed room, relax room and a bathroom with separate toilet. The bedroom, relax room and bathroom has views over the entrance and access to small balconies. There was a communal dining area with a small kitchen. The Ville has a pool and a nice grassed area, it is also within 10 minutes walk from the old montpellier centre. There is a bike hire shop nearby for easy transport. The Breakfast were friendly with good food, they make their one yogurt which is lovely.

We happened to be in Montpellier during a period of stormy weather. Mon Jardin En Ville and the hosts, Marie-José and Jean-Jacques, really saved the trip for us. Wonderfully quiet and extremely comfortable. The interior decor and finishes are very well done. In addition, there is a well equipped kitchenette to be shared by all the guests. And if you were very lucky, you may be served Jean-Jacques' exquisite tart aux pommes for breakfast. This is one of the most elegant B&B we've stayed in.

Extremely quiet and serene. Sophisticated design and finely finished. Close walking distance to the old town. This is a wonderful, very private and restful place within the beautiful city of Montpellier. There is also a well equipped kitchenette for all guests to share. We have travelled extensively in France and Mon Jardin en Ville Is one of the best B&B we have ever stayed in.

I was looking very much forward to staying here because of the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor and the gracious communication I'd had with the owner. However, we discovered on arrival that they were going to be out of town for the weekend, leaving our care in the hands of their friend, who did the best she could. We could tell that they must have rushed out because there was garbage left over from the previous guests in our bathroom as well as in the common kitchen area which stunk. The rooms were also not serviced daily so we found ourselves scrounging around for toilet paper on our second night. We were told that their friend would be adding fresh provisions in the common area refrigerator for us, but that never happened, and the croissants at breakfast tasted like supermarket croissants. We also had the misfortune to stay there after Montpellier made the news for reaching record highs in temperature, which meant that the air conditioning was woefully inadequate, making for restless nights of sleep. All in all, for us, the price we paid, which is on the higher side for a B&B was not worth it. ||||However, given the great experiences everyone else has had, I imagine that our experience was an anomaly - a combination of unfortunate occurrences. The rooms were generally clean and you could tell that there was thought put into everything. We had a chance to meet the owner when we arrived and they were very warm, so I imagine it's a much different experience normally. I put this review out just in case others have similar experiences to add to ours, but I wouldn't let my review alone dictate whether you stay here or not unless it's a 100 degrees in which case the rooms will be stifling hot.

Wow! What can I say? I will keep it simple, just like effortless simplicity and coolness of this beautiful b&b. This b&b is stunning. Our room was beautifully designed and spotless, the garden and pool area was the perfect sun trap and extremely comfortable, and I could have eaten the delicious breakfast all day! Marie-Jose could not have been more friendly or helpful. The perfect stay and if you're lucky you may even spot some red squirrels!

Marie-Jose and J-Jacques are quite right to name their lovely maison d'hotes Mon Jardin en Ville. Though one is in the city, one profits from this tranquil garden retreat from the hustle nd bustle of the heat of summer in Montpellier. Whether you are relaxing by the pool or in the beautifully appointed bedrooms or enjoying a delicious breakfast while your host jokes with you, it is truly divine here. As good hosts, they provided us with perfect suggestions for dinner, as well. One caveat: summer brings little mosquitoes called tiger mosquitoes. Best to make sure you put on repellant while in the garden if you are the type who attracts them! Regardless, we spent hours in and near the pool with little trouble. The city is also a very walkable one so getting around on "shank's pony" was simple. :)

wonderful B&B with your own entrance and communal fridge, microwave etc. Delightful hosts, although we understand they are selling the business. Great pool. We relied on public transport to get about and this was not a problem.||Breakfast under the trees every morning. Oh...and air conditioning in our rooms.
