The Monarch Hotel

if you’re into an “old money” style like me, then this hotel couldn’t be more perfect ! the lounge, the restaurant, the dining areas, the hallways, the rooms - beautiful ! it’s far from plain and impossible to get bored. i mean, the architecture and design already keeps you busy ! the hotel itself doesn’t though; it’s very serene and peaceful. their staff are some of the nicest people i’ve met aswell; always checking-in and very respectful. the food there are just as good ! will definitely visit them again; if it’s for another shoot or an over-night stay.

We recently hosted a surprise 50th birthday high tea celebration at The Monarch and we are still buzzing from the incredible experience! From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make the day unforgettable. The event was flawlessly organized — every detail was handled with care and professionalism. The team was warm, accommodating, and truly understood the importance of the occasion. They helped us keep the surprise under wraps, coordinated everything seamlessly, and ensured that our guest of honor felt truly celebrated. The high tea itself was absolutely divine. The presentation was elegant, and the selection of drinks, sweet treats, and savoury bites were both generous and delicious. Everything was beautifully arranged, fresh, and thoughtfully curated. A huge thank you to the entire team at The Monarch - especially Bheki for making this milestone birthday so special. We couldn’t have asked for a better location or a more memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone planning a special event — you’ll be in the best hands!

An exceptional establishment which takes service excellence to the next level. My sons wedding reception was recently hosted at the Monarch Hotel , and to say the very least it proved to be a sumptuous experience for all. From the management team , to the staff & valets, I can only highly recommend it. The food provided in house by Ozzie was a culinary delight & proved to be one highlights of the day. A huge shout out to Bekkie , Sohail , Frank & the rest of the team ... I thank you once again.

I spent most of July at The Monarch Hotel and honestly didn’t want to leave. It’s elegant, intimate, and effortlessly classy . Truly one of the best hotels in Johannesburg.||The team made me feel completely at home from day one. Huge thanks to Suhayl, Bongani, Siya, Frank, Nthando, Blessing and the rest of the incredible staff , you guys made my stay so special.||Beautiful rooms, warm hospitality, and a quiet charm that’s hard to find. Can’t wait to be back.

A beautiful venue for an intimate function. The food was 'master chef' worthy. Staff were excellent & very professional.

I'll admit, I wasnt totally convinced about this hotel at first, but honestly - I was so wrong! From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The room was spotless and comfy which was really nice after a long day... The location was a definite plus as the access to the mall is a 5min walk and you can even be taken my cart. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it exceeded my expectations!
