Definitely well worth the visit. I would make sure what their opening times are if you want a drink , snack or meal. The views from the hut are astonishingly beautiful. The tranquility is hard to explain in words. To get there is really not too difficult. The path was a groomed ‘piste’ as it’s covered in snow. But very well maintained. It’s about a 1 1/2 hour walk - this is a steady paced walk with time to take photos and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. Some people might struggle with the walk , not due to the difficulty but the altitude which might affect them. The only part of the walk was the last 20 meters of getting to the hut itself. It’s quite steep with a bit of loose rocks (small). I point this out only if you are not steady on your feet. But with appropriate walking / hiking shoes and poles it is no issue. I feel that it is up to us (the hikers , tourists , explorers ) to be prepared. A lovely touch of the hut , when you get there you change into a pair of ‘house slippers ‘ like croc shoes or sliders. You take off your hiking shoes and leave them in the shoe changing room and you put on the ‘leant ‘ shoes. This not only spares the staff extra work from dirty hiking shoes , it keeps the hut so clean. It really is a must if you already have made the effort going up the Jungfrau. I cannot comment on the food , unfortunately we arrived just as the kitchen closed (that was an error on our part not checking the kitchen closing time ), however we could still buy a coffee and snacks. Do not expect this beautiful mountain hut to be a 5 star luxury restaurant with a huge variety and loads of choices - this is a beautiful mountain hut which serves food and drinks for you to fill up on while you are enjoying nature and gorgeous Mountain Views. It is for people who care more for nature than people that want lush choices. I would also recommend going here when the weather is sunny with a blue sky , you will leave with the gorgeous mountain imagine forever in your memories. Ps : prices of the restaurant are also very reasonable considering the effort that is needed to transport the goods to the hut.

Walked 1hr up there and the stairs are all covered with snow. Not only danger actually is so slick it couldn't even walk up the stairs without slip and dropping down. If they can do it little bit clean up the snow it will not have any problems. However, as we are just a tourist how can we clean it up by bare hand. Yeah, may be the workers will think less people less work. Ok then management should know the situation. Strongly not recommended for any tourist. I wonder the food quality and cleaningless will it be up to minimum standards since the workers are unwelcoming to customers.

A nice mountain hut at the foot of mountain Mönch, you can walk from the snow fun park of Jungfraujoch for about 1-1.5 hours. In it you have restaurant, hotel to live, and also toilet. From here there are different angles of sceneries you could enjoy than the Jungfrau area, and you could also keep jogging further to some other mountains. If you are capable to work, reaching this place will not let you down!

Hiked here from the Top of Europe and it was such a lovely treat. What a charming little retreat in the middle of the mountains. We ordered two bowls of the curry lentil soup to recharge and it was one of the best bowls of soup I've ever had! Worth the tiring & I'd say difficult hike up.

Google
Amazing views, early breakfast, very reasonable amenities for a mountain hut. The snow up to the hut was a little sloshy in the afternoon, and elevation of 3600m got me both on the way up and once again at night.

Delicious food, and well worth the hike up there. They provide slippers to wear while you eat.

The terrain itself is not difficult. It's the high altitude that makes it tough. Seemed easy enough when viewing it from the viewing platform, but once we started walking up the slope we fatigued quickly. Worth it if you can make it.

Worth the trek from the main area. Maybe about an hour or so trek. Pretty good food for such a remote place. Their pie was phenomenal. Went during summer; can't imagine the weather at this place during the winter!! Once in a lifetime hut on top of the glacier

Yelp
After the challenging hike up to Monchsjochhutte, we were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was! My husband got a hot chocolate and the vegetable soup with sausage. The sausage was SO good. Prices are in line with what you would expect in Switzerland. But after that hike, the food hit the spot.

Yelp
If you are reading this review, you have probably already made the journey to Jungfraujoch (or are planning on making it), which means you have spent quite a bit of money getting there. While doing your research, you have probably realized that all of the food options in the main area (the part by the train station with the viewing platform and gift shops) are also very expensive. While there are nice views from many of the restaurants in that main area, none of them are really all that good, they are very crowded, and all of them will set you back quite a few Francs. However, if you are up for a little hike through the snow, you can enjoy a peaceful alpine cabin with even better views than the main Jungfraujoch building, more authentic and tasty food options, and better prices. Like most worthwhile goals, getting to the "Mönchsjochhütte" is not an easy task, but the reward is great. After all, you are hiking to the highest occupied hut in Switzerland at 12,000 feet (or 3,658 meters) above sea level! Yes, once you leave the main building, you will be trudging through the snow up hill for over an hour (they say the hike is 45 minutes, but unless you are acclimatized to the altitude and in amazing shape, you'll probably take longer than that...make sure to wear sunscreen too!). Along the way, you will be treated to amazing views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers, and the path is groomed daily to ensure the hike will be safe. Once you get to the hut, you'll find very few people, breathtaking views, and a truly authentic Swiss mountain dining experience (as well as bragging rights). I will mostly let the photos I took of my dining experience speak for themselves (they should be below). However, I will say that the coffee was really, really good, and the home-made potato and vegetable soup with pork sausage was super tasty and filling. The hut is heated, has comfy seating, and you will be able to charge your phone/camera. You can also stay overnight at the cabin in very rustic accommodations for less than 30 Francs per night...a total bargain! The trip back to the main building is much shorter: it's downhill the entire way, so you can probably make it in 30 minutes if you are in reasonable shape. After arriving back at the super touristy main area, you'll quickly realize that your hike to the Mönchsjochhütte and your lunch will be your fondest memories of your trip to the Jungfraujoch.
