Mondi Lodge

We have been to Mondi several times and it’s always amazing. Planning to go again soon. Danita Ben and everyone are amazing. We look forward to breakfast every morning. Wouldn’t go anyplace else in Curacao.

I can't say enough fantastic things about the Mondi Lodge. My husband, daughter (15) and I stayed there recently for five nights. Danita and the staff are so welcoming and we were treated like family immediately. We stayed in the Flamingo - two bed/two bath. The patio is open-air with two ceiling fans and plenty of lights. There is a comfortable couch and chair, along with a coffee table as part of the "living room" - we spent many nights here listening to the birds, relaxing and playing Scrabble. There is also a picnic table, generously-sized refrigerator/freezer and kitchen sink with all the ceramic dishes and silverware you need if you decide to cook/eat in. The bedrooms are spacious with two bedside tables, comfortable beds/bedding, chair and full-length mirror. Plenty of counter space and shelving in the bathroom, along with a line to hang your wet swim clothes. Outside shower is simply AMAZING - wonderful, natural shower products too! A coffee/tea bar is available throughout the day with options for various types of organic teas, coffees, cappuccino, latte, etc. Magnesium pool area is serene with plenty of chairs for multiple groups to enjoy. The outdoor shared kitchen is well-stocked. We usually do not eat in, but we did use the BBQ one night. There are two grocery stores within 5 mins. We did rent a car and explored much of the island - beaches, mango plantation, national park, distillery, city center, etc. My daughter and I took a cooking class with Caribbean Chef - highly recommend this.||There is a deep, conscious commitment of the owners/staff to greater good of Curacao. We had meaningful chats with both Danita and her dad, George - who also let us tag alone for the morning feeding of all the animal residents of ML - Charlie the cat and Shadow the dog visited us at our palapa too! We learned a lot about the history of the island and current happenings from our insightful conversations. ||I'm finishing this review eating some toast with jam George gave me to take home - made from the fruits of Mondi Lodge trees! We can't thank Danita and her team enough for making our stay in Curacao so memorable. We missed them before we even left and can't wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed at the Mondi Lodge in January and we loved it. We are active travelers and loved the location to explore all over the island. Danita made us the most incredible breakfast each morning and gave us a local guide to help us navigate all the incredible beaches to snorkel. The property was a little oasis with birds and friendly dogs. They also had a great coffee machine for delicious lattes and cappuccinos all day! It was a perfect spot to relax after a great day out in the sun. We loved it!

Excellent! The palapa was comfortable and somewhat secluded. The fans helped keep the bugs away. The lodge is small, intimate and tranquil. Plenty of foliage and many many birds. The best part is the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and you can tell that people enjoy working there. The breakfasts were great and varied, especially the daily specials like cappuccino French toast. The location is good - close to town, but far enough away to be relatively quiet. And well situated to reach the west end beaches. We hope to return!

We stayed at Mondi Lodge for 4 nights and it was such a beautiful and relaxing experience. Upon arrival Danita gave us all the details and information about the property. She was so helpful and friendly. She even gave my daughter a tour to see all the animals on the property. This place is the perfect spot to escape and just relax as a family. Loved the fruit trees and wildlife. They also serve an amazing breakfast and staff members were pleasant. My family would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for serenity and relaxation.

We stayed in Yuana the treehouse for a week at Mondi Lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of the staff and animals. We appreciated all of the hospitality provided by Danita, Janine and Ben. They were all very friendly and knowledgeable about Curacao. We had to miss breakfast because we had to head out early one morning to hike Mt. Christoffel. Danita was kind enough to make us Yogurt Parfaits for the road that were absolutely delicious.||I had an unfortunate incident with my phone where it was malfunctioning. The staff went above and beyond to find an electronics store where they sold the product I need to fix my phone. We loved the outdoor shower it was delightful. The AC worked very well and effectively but we really didn’t need it most of the time. Loved lounging in the hammock and relaxing in the upstairs open air lounge in the evening. You definitely need bug spray though. We took advantage of the cooler and mini fridge for beverages to enjoy and bring to the beach. ||One of the reasons we chose Mondi Lodge was its central location, with easy access to west beaches, Westpunt and a quick drive to restaurants downtown and the nearby grocery store. It was a very unique experience, we would give it more than 5 stars if we could.

We had a magical time at Mondi Lodge! We wanted to stay at a smaller, eco-friendly, boutique hotel for part of our time in Curaçao, and Mondi Lodge did not disappoint. My family of four, including two elementary school kids, stayed for three nights in the Flamingo house. The house was clean, cute, and very fun for all. The two bedrooms are separated by an open air living room, which we really enjoyed spending time in. ||We all LOVED the pool. It was a highlight of the trip. It's small but deep, and the kids and I spent many hours splashing around. We also loved our visits from the iguanas, birds, dog, cat, butterflies, and lizards. ||I'm a very light sleeper, but unlike other reviewers, the sounds of the animals and the nearby street did not bother me. The ceiling fans create a nice white noise which blocked out most of the sounds. ||The breakfast was AMAZING. Fresh, creative, and delicious. One day, I had a vegetarian Monte Crisco that I will always remember. One morning, we left Mondi very early to hike up Mount Christoffel--way before breakfast--so the wonderful hosts brought us some yogurt, fruit, granola, bread, and cheese the day before, so we could have breakfast on our own at 5AM. It's those little touches that make such a big impact! ||The location is also great--a quick walk or even quicker drive to the Flamingo habitat, easy to drive to Willemstad and our favorite beach of the trip, Playa Porto Marie. ||And yes, the mosquitos are BAD. Bring your bug spray! They supply mosquito nets and bug zappers, so we were well-equipped to battle the blood suckers. The only thing I wanted was perhaps some bug repellant candles for the open-air living room, so we could enjoy that more in the early evening. I appreciated that the lodge doesn't spray for mosquitos throughout the property, because then there wouldn't be such rich wildlife all around!

This is a magical place to stay in Curacao -- we truly felt like family. Danita, Janine, Ben, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It feels like more of a B&B vibe than a traditional hotel. We loved co-existing with all the animals on the property - donkeys, hummingbirds, dogs, Charlie the cat, and many iguanas and geckos. And the location is amazing...easy access to the beautiful western beaches and a 20-minute drive to Willemstad. We will miss the homemade breakfast every morning. The rooms are no-frills, but our stay was comfortable nonetheless. I'm glad we stayed here over one of the bigger resorts. Rent a car and beach hop. Book if you're looking for a unique stay off the beaten path in Curacao!
