"Why book? The Mondrian Hotel is simply a work of art. Inspired by the work of Dutch Artist, Piet Mondrian, the hotel makes a bold statement with its creative flare inside and out. It’s certainly a show-stopping stay in the West Bay area of the city. Set the scene The property stands out from the cityscape with its unique shape and design. Starting from the exterior, the building’s facade is made up of thousands of reflective metal panels, which create a dazzling effect when viewed from afar. Once inside, the hotel features soaring atriums, bold patterns and colors, and creative lighting details. It’s easy to get lost in the impressive details and distinctive style of each and every space. The backstory The Mondrian was designed by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. His individual style can be appreciated throughout the hotel, with a blend of Arab and Dutch influences evident in the decor and choice of colors. It was the second Mondrian hotel that Wanders had designed and was officially completed in October 2017. The rooms Rooms are something to behold. Crafted by Wanders himself, the range of rooms and suites were designed to evoke a feeling of a modern Arabian Nights experience. They’re exceptionally bright, with floor to ceiling windows, but the splashes of color and Arabic style furnishings ensure the rooms retain a sense of unique character. Food and drink Take your pick from some exceptional culinary experiences. There are multiple restaurants, a coffee house, rooftop bar, cigar lounge and classy nightclub to spend the evening onsite. The hotel’s chefs create menus inspired by the city’s surroundings. From fresh seafood to succulent meats of the Middle East, the food is always fresh and exciting. As is the backdrop, with the strong spaces designed by Wanders complemented by cityscape views. The spa It’s worth exploring every part of the eye-popping hotel and that includes the onsite spa. The ESPA Spa delivers a memorable wellness experience with 12 treatment rooms, a heated experience garden, traditional Turkish Hammam, jacuzzi and sauna. In addition, the indoor pool features Wanders’ signature bold colors and patterns, with reclining chairs to curl up with a book. The neighborhood/area Surrounded by the Arabian Gulf, the Mondrian Hotel is located in the West Bay area of the city. Doha’s renowned shopping and dining scene is right on the doorstep with the Lagoona Mall next door and sandy beaches a short walk away. The service It might be an imposing hotel building, but the service is much more comparable to a small and intimate hotel experience. The staff are warm and welcoming from the first meeting, and nothing seems too much trouble. For families The hotel has a range of family-friendly room options. Some of the larger suites offer multiple rooms to allow for extra privacy and space for larger groups and families. Eco effort Sustainability is an important pillar of the Mondrian brand. The hotel features a rainwater harvesting system that recycles grey water, an efficient waste management system that recycles almost all of the hotel waste and a green roof that provides natural insulation and cooling. To recognize their efforts, the hotel achieved a 5-star rating from Qatar's Ministry of Environment for their sustainable operations.
