Tried this cute local spot on my way to work, but left disappointed. The Jerusalem onion & cheese croissant was literally half a croissant, and the almond one started great but halfway turned into a bitter citrus custard—strange combo. No espresso, only filtered coffee with long-life milk, yet charged latte prices. Staff (possibly the owner) came off a bit blunt. Paid $27 for a half savoury, half almond-weird hybrid croissant, and a sad coffee. Definitely overpriced and not the vibe. Wanted to like it, but can’t recommend.

Delicious!! Definitely rate this the Best in Melbourne! Loved Todays savoury one: Jerusalem artichoke, roasted onion and taleggios, the pastry was crunchy, flaky and buttery and the filling had so much flavour, Delicious! The sweetness of the sweet varieties were also perfect. Service was friendly and helpful when questioned about the pastries.

A small place selling croissants out of window. But wow! Do croissants are really good. My go to piece is the leatherwood honey and sea salt. If there is anything else interesting I will usually get it too. If you have the time, definitely a place to stop at in Melbourne.

Monforte Viennoiserie - Leatherwood honey & sea salt $7.5 🍯 - Wattleseed, almond & chocolate tiramisu $10🍫 - Maple pain perdu, whipped cream & greengage $11.5 🍞 After my Nth attempt, finally got to try Monforte pastries. I couldn’t stop raving how good their pastries are! Their signature honey and sea salt was 5/5! Buttery, flakey with a honey wash on the outside and sea salt for balancing. The tiramisu was another star! Pastry still remained crispy even with a cream filling. The filling had the right amount of bitterness and sweetness! So well balanced! The Maple Pain Persu was slightly sugary for my liking. I did not regret waking early for them! Would 100% come back again!

Tried the pastrami cabbage & fontina, and the artichoke onion & taleggio - both were quite flavourful but lacked a bit of punch, much like their chai latte. Keen to return and sample their sweet croissants next

Yuzu tart was incredible, the subtle sweetness of the custard paired perfectly with the fresh yuzu chunks and the meringue. The taste brought me back to the pastries that i had back in France. The honey croissant was unique, the salt paired nicely with the honey. Pastrami was filled with spices and quite delicious too. Hopefully the yuzu makes a comeback occasionally given that the menu is seasonal. It was the highlight for me.

Monforte is a popular patisserie in Carlton that is known for their croissants. We got the leatherwood honey & sea salt croissant and beef mustard banksia pastry. The sea salt croissont was my fave, I liked the contrast between the sweet and saltiness. The savoury pastry was also quite tasty but didn’t love the cured beef. Will be back to try the other items!

This hole in the wall is known for their quality pastries and unique flavour profiles. We tried the Triple chocolate, peanut and burnt miso, pain Suisse ($10.50) chocolate croissant dough, burnt miso and peanut mousseline cream and a sweet, dark, chocolate glaze with peanuts the sweetness, the nuttiness, the umami was a surprisingly well balanced flavour combination - truly special and worth commending!
