Mongoose Restaurant & lounge Ocho Rios jamaica

I loved the food!!! It was a great atmosphere and I loved the music. The staff was good, for an American it's definitely different culturally, but I honestly enjoyed that aspect. We shouldn't expect them to have the same temper or aspects as us since we are visiting them. To me the service was great and I liked that they let us eat and didn't constantly bother us.

Came here with a large group of my family (12 people) and I enjoyed the experience very much. The food came quicker than I expected and it tasted delicious, all of us loved it! The staff was great, so of course we left a tip.

The waitress ( Shaniel) was attentive, nothing special about the food. I ordered wine for my husband and myself. The choices are limited, I overheard the bartender telling other patrons there angrily, that there are only sweet and dry wines. Obviously, he doesn’t know that not all wines are equal. This is my second trip there and it will definitely be the last. I’m reviewing this on 10/14/2025. I’m disappointed that he could be so rude and unprofessional. The restaurant depends on customers, but I guess he doesn’t know that.

I visited Mongoose restaurant and bar this evening. The service and atmosphere were excellent. They have a live band every Saturday evening. You can come alone to enjoy a meal and relax while listening to the local DJ and the live band.

I am very happy I decided to try Mongoose Restaurant. They get it right, the atmosphere, service, food, and music. Our server, Trish, was excellent, presented herself well, and just the right attitude, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. It's been a while since I have been to a restaurant where I can't think of a negative feedback - perfect start to a great weekend! Go to Mongoose, ask for Trish, you will be satisfied! Cheers!

Pit stopped here between visits to Blue hole and Dunns river. The food was good, portion small but it was a meal included with the Nexus tours, so hard to complain per say. I could us rearranging the tables, even after getting permission to do so anyone annoyed some of the waitresses. So when we finished, i attempted to put the tables back where we found them , and it pissed the staff off even more. So i decided the food was decent enough to not complain but

I have to let tourists know the have very expensive cheap drinks. Paid $13 for a rum punch. In a 12oz cup. No glass not getting your money's worth. Don't price gouge tourism. That makes the place look bad. $6 would have been sufficient.

Great venue, location is right there in Main Street, and food was very delicious and well done. We had a wonderful time until we had to settle our bill at the bar. They need a better way of tracking orders as that was the only blight to our experience here.
