We stayed here 1 night only. It is an average place.. I say you get what you pay for, but this place does rather need a refresh. Room was pretty basic, shower took ages in morning before we had hot water and it was a trickle rather than a shower. No milk cream powder nor pot for tea. Black tea? No thank you. The price seems to change every so often so check few times before you actually book it. We took a stroll on their garden area which had some parrot and birds in cage. No other walkable area to get some food from though.|We had a very friendly front desk staff, think her name is Helen, who helped us make a few calls and introduced a great driver called Chris who we used over 2 days to go sightseeing. I cannot praise him enough. We were 2 ladies and he was the utmost gentleman. You can reach him on 7906848. His car was clean and is a very safe driver.

I stayed in this guesthouse for four nights with two friends. The room that we had was very spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful.||The room was clean although some edges of tables etc. were a little bit dusty. But overall it was clean and nice.||The shower-head needs a replacement, because the water comes out hard.||it has a great view.||(not for people in a wheel chair)||The WI-fi is very slow.||||This is a guesthouse so you can't compare it with a hotel. Lets be honest.||I had a good experience.

We stayed in the family room with a kitchenette. Very welcoming staff. The rate was reasonable and the area was good. You can catch a cab right outside and are less than 5 minutes from the supermarket, food locations, pharmacy and a coffee shop.||Now, the not so good. The restaurant does not have a large assortment. Sort of like going to a friends house. Just the basics.||This place is not handicapped accessible at all.||The cleaning staff is average and at best, 3 of us stayed in the family room that sleeps 4, yet only 2 towels were left for us.||Overall, I would stay again, but would look closer at booking the Hilton, which was only $10 US more per night.

The wifi isn't the strongest and you have to ask as they don't give it to you. They shower doesn't have a consistent flow of water and sometimes the water gets cold and shuts off. They charge their food in US dollors, you should bring your own food there. The beds are comfortable. The AC works really well and the rooms get cold pretty quickly. Parking can be rough if there are a lot of cars there.

I checked into Monique’s quest house on Friday 28th October 2016 with my sister and left on Saturday the 11th December 2016.We chose Monique’s because of the close proximity to a Medical Facility in the city of Port of Spain which we had to go to daily and for its quiet peaceful surroundings in the lush slopes of Maraval.||||We were warmly greeted by the staff and were ushered into our room in the main hotel building. The owner’s daughter and manager Elizabeth, knowing of the limited mobility of my sister had booked us into a wheel-chair access room on the ground level where we could easily board our vehicle, literally outside our porch.||||The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable; our ground level porch looked onto the beautifully kept, tropical hillside garden. It was amazing how peaceful and quiet it was even though we were close to the roadside. ||||The owner Monique, a chic and a graciously charming lady of 89 yrs. was still actively involved in ensuring that standards were maintained. Her daughter Elizabeth, Winnie (front desk manager) and other staff were efficient and friendly and created a “home away from home “atmosphere.||||During our stay my sister had an emergency and had to be rushed to hospital. The manager Elizabeth and her staff sprang into action immediately taking command of the situation. The ambulance was called and arrived within minutes. Thanks Shaunelle, (front desk clerk) for your immediate assistance before the ambulance crew arrived. Thank you Gail,(hotel chef) for the delicious home-cooked meals, Ian and Jonathon (security) Thank you Winnie and Elizabeth for juggling dates to make it possible to extend our stay without much notice from us. We love your Christmas tree and Christmas decorations and feel so sorry that we would be missing your traditional Christmas breakfast. Sounds amazing! ||||I would recommend this family run establishment to anyone looking for a reasonably priced efficiently run and conveniently located guesthouse on the outskirts of the city. Close to the city hub, malls, shopping -centers and restaurants and easy drive to Maracas beach. Public and private transport is unbelievably cheap. Guided tours are also available on request.||||Wishing the management and staff at Monique’s a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2017! ||||I will definitely return when time permits :) ||||Maria

I stayed here for 30 days on a business, otherwise I would have not stayed here. The rooms are stark with a strong musty odor. It is freshly painted and has fresh linens, when housekeeping comes. There are no shades on the lights in the room except the one beside the bed. Asked to have toilet repaired several times without results. When the AC unit broke they told me just to open the windows till they get around to it. It took my boss emailing their boss to get it fixed several days later. Beds are hard as well as the pillows. It is clean but no thrills here.|Picture is looking down from the upper house, they are building something there now.

This place is beyond disgusting. We stayed for the weekend ,what we wanted to be a romantic get away, as this place was recommend as a nice establishment. However it felt ALOT to be desired, staff was inattentive and came across as rude, on checking in our room was not ready and we were told that it was being cleaned as check in time was 2pm,so we headed up Port of Spain to enjoy the country. upon return to the hotel the unfriendly front desk agent escort us to the room. The room 15 was horrible, sheets were dirty, towels were dirty, pillowcases were dirty and the horrific sewage smell that illuminated from the bathroom,to the point that I could not breathe, the ceiling in the bathroom had mold and mildew and the tiles were stained and dirty, shower Curtin mildew and dirty. The handle for the bathroom came off in my hand!!!! We called down to the front desk about the state of the room, the agent came up and told us that a plumber would come in later to take a look.!!!!!!!!! Really !!! we had to demand that they moved us pronto. The room which we were given was not any better. Room 25 had two full beds, again one of the beds the sheets were dirty, the headboard of one of the beds were rotted, the bathroom smell of bleach , TV too small and outdated. In the morning we were again greeted by the horrible stench from the bathroom and was forced to keep the door closed at all times, and make our daily cleansing routine very short as it was offensive being in the room. The AC was extremely noisily and made it difficult to sleep with it on. As a hotelier I would not return to this establishment again as it in my opinion not fit to host anyone.

Visited during carnival time. Clean, courteous staff. No complaints whatsoever. Budget priced location with better than budget facilities. Next to the road so transportation is easy although traffic can sometimes be a bit noisy.
