Monkeys Reykjavik

We had such a wonderful experience at Monkeys on New Year’s Eve for lunch and can’t wait to visit again! The food was absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor and creativity. The ambience was spot on—whimsical, cozy, and welcoming. A highlight was definitely the bar area, where they have a train car right inside the restaurant—it’s so unique and picture-worthy! The staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a spot with incredible food, fantastic service, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, Monkeys is a must-visit! Highly recommend!

The miso cod was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had. It was prepared perfectly, definitely get it cooked to the chef’s recommendation, it was truly wonderful! This is also a beautiful restaurant with so many unique touches, be sure to walk around and see it all. They also had a fantastic wine selection. Definitely recommend going with a group so you can share things!

Monkeys Restaurant in Reykjavík During our visits to Reykjavík, we’ve tried many restaurants, and this one is definitely among our favorites. The restaurant is expensive, and everyone has to decide for themselves whether it’s worth the price. The food is very creative and full of flavor, and the cocktails are excellent. The service is extremely attentive and friendly. This restaurant stands out for its unique atmosphere and the extraordinary presentation of the dishes.

Very nice atmosphere/aesthetics. Our waiter Rasheed was very welcoming, attentive and helpful. The food was pretty good for our first meal in Reykjavík. The pornstar passion fruit drink was the best drink. My only complaint (to no fault of the restaurant) was that the couple sitting across from my party (3 black women) stared at us the whole time which made us uncomfortable. Highly recommend the restaurant.

We did the 3 course brunch menu. The portion was just nice and price was average for a restaurant in the city centre. Had the prawn tempura, eggs benedict & brownies. The hollandaise sauce for the eggs benedict was a little bland to my taste. The highlight for me was the prawn tempura and chocolate chia brownies.

A fantastic place for dinner, with a very impressive group menu! I was solo, sadly, but I'm noting this place for the future! Food: bones are left in the lamb, always irks me Service: a lemon slice in my Pepsi Max glass? C'mon fellas! Atmosphere: lighting is too low. Had to breakout the flashlight to read the menu!

Monkeys is unique and super. I visited the restaurant twice, sitting at the bar once and in the restaurant proper once. Both experiences were terrific. I had the sushi the first night, and everything was fresh and creative. The second night, I had the butternut squash with bulgur and tempura vegetables, and it was also creative and delicious. The decor at Monkeys is whimsical, cozy,creative, welcoming, and warm. And the staff are attentive and genuinely friendly. All in all, I highly recommend Monkeys.

Was visiting Iceland from the USA and had a great time here! The waiter was so attentive and very welcoming! Food was AMAZING along with a great atmosphere. This is definitely a place worth visiting!
