Monorom VIP Hotel

Stayed here for one night as part of a G Adventures tour in December 2023. ||The hotel is on the banks on the Mekong in the middle of the town. Arrival and check-in was quick and easy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and all spoke good English.||Our room was on the second floor (you can take the lift or stairs).||Our room was a good size, with the exotic furniture that others have described. If you like dark, intricate wood carvings, then this is the place for you. The room was clean and the beddings was too. The beds were comfy and we had a small flatscreen TV, desk and chair, vanity table and mirror, small fridge and wardrobe. The bathroom was a good size with modern fixtures. The shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure.||The wifi was quick, with good signal range. The hotel didn't offer any meals when we were there, so we had breakfast two doors up from the hotel (see separate review).||Overall, a good stay made better by the friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel from the outside is nothing special. But wait till you get into your room. My mouth literally dropped open as I walked in. The décor is from an era that is long gone (see picture). Very much over the top but the quality of the wood carving is top quality and is still in very good nick. This must have been THE hotel to stay in the grand old days. ||My room is clean, equipped with all the mod cons, including air conditioning. ||One thing that I will always remember is how helpful the staff are. I came down to the lobby to wait for my luggage and without prompting, one of the staff came over and switched on a fan and place it near me. I can tell that he was not looking for a tip. He simply wanted me to be comfortable. ||The hotel is located right by the bank of the Mekong. Strolling along the promenade during evening is pleasant.||There is a restaurant near by (a few steps left after the main entrance) that serves simple food and drink. It provides training for local youths for potential work in the service industry. We had dinner and breakfast there. No problem at all.||This is a hotel that I would stay if I come to Kampong Cham again, just to show my wife the OTT decors in the rooms.

I recently travelled to Kampong Cham and stayed at the Monorom VIP. Very nice hotel. Rooms are very clean and it is located on the riverwalk. Perfect location. Plenty of hot water and good aircon. Nice balcony with view of the river. King bed and bedding are exceptional. Highly recommend. I will stay there again next time I go!

We stayed in this place for a week. We asked for a discount the receptionist said $10 a night after few hours we came back and the price suddenly change to $12. This is a discounted price since we are staying for a week. Our room was at the mezzanine area, big windows no view. It was a very comfortable place. The wifi is good, decent enough for online work.The staff are friendly your rented motorbike will be surely taken care 24hrs. The also help us with our food panda delivery. We just dont know when you go around we cant find a decent place to eat, but when you check the food panda app, tons of options. We find this city beautiful it just the people that not so nice as they overcharge way too much. We are aware if you are "barang" you pay extra but in general we just pay way too much.||||The hotel price was perfect, with amazing wood work. The place is clean and its very convenient to some nearby AMAZON cafe and small convenient store. We always stay out in front of the hotel at the riverside enjoying the view.||||MONOROM VIP Hotel, is perfect if you wanted some comfort during your stay in the city.

We have stayed here before, always after having spent several days working in villages. From that perspective, it is a very welcome site. The front lobby is traditional decor with beautiful ornate wooden chairs and sculptures. The double rooms with balcony overlooking the river is elaborately decorated, but a bit outdated. Hotel in general has an older feel. Air conditioning and wifi always a plus. No bar/restaurant that I noted so you head out for meals. Would stay again.

Really nice, quite and luxurious hotel in kompong Cham. Clean, with spacious and clean bathroom. Offers views to the impressive menkong river. This hotel probably built during the colonial time to serve the rich French that wanted to make vacation to the French colonies. Now, not many tourists visit kompong Cham.

When you are in the city it would be great if you stay near the riverside. This hotel was perfect for its location. it is walking distance to the nearby cafe and restaurant, near the cafe amazon. The staff are really friendly, everyday they drop some drinking water by our door step. The security was 24hours. The room is very spacious and clean and the price is reasonable. We paid $12 a night and stayed for a week. We will surely stay here again. Enjoy sitting by the outside by the riverside. The lobby is is also great.

I stayed here as part of a G adventures tour and had a very good experience.||||I shared a double room which was clean and comfortable, with a chair, table, fridge and kettle for our convenience/use. The shower was hot and powerful and there were complimentary toiletries provided also which is handy if you're running low on these. The bed was comfortable and I slept well during our stay despite a noisy storm outside. The hotel is situated on the waterfront and so easy access to a riverside walk/run and the highly recommended Smile restaurant is also only two doors down - so a good location I feel.||||The only real negative for me is that the WIFI was very unreliable and slow although this may have been affected by the storm in all fairness so hopefully something they can improve upon in the future.||||Overall I had a perfectly fine one night stay and I'd therefore recommend it for the same.
