Where to Sip, Eat, and Stay in Quebec City

"A smart hotel that opened in 2019 and has thrived in part thanks to its speakeasy, where local plants meet premium spirits in surprising cocktails made with ingredients like blueberry liqueur and sea buckthorn; the beverage program also highlights Quebec beers (the province goes wild for microbreweries), wines, vegetarian snacks, local cheeses, and truffled french fries." - Nina Caplan

A beautifully decorated and charming hotel positioned in a perfect location in Old Quebec. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We turned up to the bar at prime time on a Sunday evening when they had live music performing - so of course they were fully booked. But the hostess went out of her way to make two spots for me at the bar and I so appreciated that! The bartenders were amazing as well. ||Room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with everything we needed during our stay. We did have an incident where we returned to our room and the maid had left our door ajar. Nothing was taken but it made us a little uncomfortable. The room we were in faced the pub and it was a little noisy on a Friday Saturday night so bring ear plugs if that bothers you! ||Overall an amazing stay and we’ll definitely be back! Thank you!

We are visiting from Europe and stayed here recently, December 18-19th. The hotel was impeccable! All decorated for Christmas, including the rooms, but without being overwhelming. Our room was large and comfortable, even had a hidden kitchen. This little design hotel is full of surprises, to me the library was a true treasure. The service was very kind and attentive, nothing too much trouble. They also have an excellent in-house gourmet restaurant, the menu has a fusion of traditional and modern dishes and a great wine list. Here again, the service was friendly but professional. We were only there for a short stay but we highly recommend Monsieur Jean if you are in Quebec City.

The whole visit starts in a wonderful lobby, where there is a very nice smell, which I don’t know what it is, but puts you in the mood right away for a fabulous stay. Service was very quick to check in everything very well explained and the room was impeccable. We had a corner room which gave us a superb view of old Québec. The hotel is centrally situated which we could walk. Everything , shopping food theatre were close… did not have to use the car it’s in the middle of most of the fabulous restaurants that can be had. I would highly recommend this place and on my next return will again stay there we were offered very competitively priced breakfast, which was nice buffet with a nice assortment. Enjoy it !

We recently enjoyed a two night stay, to visit the Christmas markets in the city. This hotel is a great location, central and walkable to so much. The bed was comfortable, the room clean, and modern. I will say that privacy lacks as there is only a curtain between the bedroom and bathroom. There is a glass door between the washroom and the toilet, but private it is not. |The bar is great, and they had a jazz duo Sunday night that we really enjoyed. The breakfast buffet was also well done. We will definitely be back to Quebec and would stay here again.

We stayed a few days in October and thoroughly enjoyed this small hotel. Very convenient location although in the more-modern upper level of Vieux Québec Our room was very nice, on an upper floor so quiet. Very nice bedding although a few extra pillows (there was one) would be nice. There's a small kitchenette with bottled water in the fridge, a Nespresso machine (with pods) a tiny electric kettle and a two-burner hot plate (plus pots and cutlery). While you could cook here, you probably wouldn't The bathroom is stylish, with two sinks, a separate toilet room (with a door, thankfully, but no toilet brush) and a glass-wall shower. The door to the bathroom is, however, a velvet drape. Not sure about this - fine if travelling alone but even with your spouse privacy can be a good thing - especially if one needs to do things while the other is sleeping. There is a small nook in the shower (so many places have nothing) and the usual squirt bottles if you forgot your shampoo, etc. There's a very nice bar off the lobby with food (breakfast if you subscribe). It gets busy in the afternoon and evenings so you may want to book. Live entertainment at times Car parking is by valet and at extra cost. It's also a bit of a faff if you need anything from your car since you must be escorted to drop off or retrieve items. There is a public parking lot nearby (underground) which might be more convenient (and possibly less expensive) but also less secure. The hotel has an EV charger and charged our car at no added cost All in all, a very enjoyable stay and we would gladly return

Google
Nice modern clean hotel in great location. Worth upgrading to corner room as very spacious and excellent views. Main knock is no parking to checkin and need to do better job at keeping slush off front entrance and steps. Room cleaning also came early at 9am but did great job

Lovely hotel - excellent location, with delightful, whimsical and comfortable decor, and a very well equipped room. The room was spacious and had a really nice coffee bar area, with a little kitchenette. Nice storage options, and the linens and bedding were all high quality. Very comfortable! The only downside (and this is minor) was the breakfast. Some oatmeal would go a long way for the gluten free/non egg people, and the fruit was just okay (melon is a very mediocre option - some berries or cut up citrus fruit, maybe bananas instead of apples for breakfast). We did have some dessert at the hotel bar, and it was very busy and fun, and the churros were very good!

Picture perfect stay in the heart of upper town! No detail is overlooked at this fabulous, unique hotel. Service was warm and attentive from start to finish (shoutout to Jan at the front desk who was the best!), the hotel is so fun and playful, food and drinks in Le Bijou were phenomenal (fabulous bar team and great mixology). Valet was quick and so helpful. Laundry on-site was so convenient. We were in the Marvelous Suite and its sweeping views of the city and the river, included amenities, and pristine upkeep was a highlight of our week. We walked to just about everything; the location of this hotel is incredible! Recommend wholeheartedly and without hesitation. We can't wait to return on our next visit to QC!

Yelp
We went to Bijou the fabulous bar in the hotel... didn't stay here but there's no yelp page just for the bar! This bar was amazing ! So colorful and vibrant with an awesome atmosphere and great vibe. Really good background music... the staff were casual and friendly. The menu has some nice cocktails and good wines . They also had a nice bar snacks menu. It looked good from what we saw. We didn't eat here though. If I come back though I will !! We got to sit by the open window table where you get a great view of the streets and was just a nice people watching spot. I had the paper plane cocktail in a lovely little glass and my friends Rosè was nice and crisp. Really enjoyed this great bar and it was our first place we visited in QC and I'll most definitely be back here! Cool and funky !

Yelp
What an absolutely delightful new acquisition to the Hilton property options. This boutique hotel became a great weekend getaway for us, spending a night in Quebec City. It's in the old city and convenient to lots of nearby shops and restaurants in the charming old town area. The hotel seemed like an eclectic random selection of chic items for decor, but one comes to realize there's a very deliberate, thoughtful pattern and selection to the entire ambiance of the hotel. EVERY little detail is thought out and with purpose that may never reveal itself to you on your stay. The staff were very attentive and helpful, and friendly. Whether it was at the bar, the lobby staff for check-in / check-out, or anyone else we encountered. The room was well appointed and had a very comfy, clean bed. I especially appreciated the journal that is in each room, where guests can write notes, and the book provides some additional information. We left a note for future guests, addressed to Monsieur Jean, as several other guests had done before us. The Hilton we used to stay at will have to accept that it's been replaced. This is our new go-to whenever we come to Quebec City.

Yelp
When I made my reservation the concierge said she would make a note of our arrival time and the need for early check in. Four hours later I am sitting in the lobby still waiting for my room to be ready. So far I am not impressed with my Quebec experience. Additionally; The official check in time was 4 o'clock, unfortunately 4 o'clock came and went, and the room still wasn't ready.

Yelp
Beautiful boutique hotel! We loved our four night stay and were welcomed with chocolate in the room. Jazz music was nice. Restaurant dinner was disappointing, veal steak overdone and tasteless, stick to appetizers.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful hotel right in Old Quebec City!! The staff were amazing, the rooms were stunning and very well appointed. The bar ambience and staff were so incredible . Did not try the restaurant but no doubt it was amazing as well.

Yelp
Photos of the hotel show rows of windows on all guest room floors. Unfortunately that is not the situation for all guest rooms. In this hotel "city view" equates to window (per front desk staff) and even as a Hilton Diamond I ended up in a cave-like room with a window no more than 24 inches wide. The rooms are nicely outfitted but on cloudy days the lack of natural light is profound. The continental breakfast is nice although guests should go early as the kitchen is slow to replenish items in the later service hours. The front desk staff is personable but many of this group seem clueless regarding the hotel neighborhood and services, opting instead to send you to the concierge desk for even the simplest of questions. This could really be an issue when the concierge desk is not manned! Regarding the concierge staff - Sandrine is a GEM and excellent at guest services. The housekeeping gentlemen were personable and excellent at their jobs. Bottom line - secure a city room view (even if points cannot be utilized)), have a great breakfast earlier in the day and keep Google at the ready to explore the hotel's neighborhood as the location is quiet good.

Yelp
This hotel was fabulous! It's unique and quirky in a great way. The rooms are larger than the traditional rooms. The breakfast in the morning was delicious! The location couldn't be better, it was a one minute walk to Old Quebec. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet too.

Yelp
We are currently staying here and I have to say that it's been wonderful! The staff are so friendly and have provided great recommendations! The rooms are so clean and spacious. The beds are super soft with comfy linen. This is a boutique hotel that is new. It has flamboyant charm and I highly recommend. For my American yelpers, it has excellent AC and elevators. I love the charming decor and the blue doors! Well done Monsieur Jean!

Yelp
Awesome boutique hotel. Housekeeping was excellent and room felt brand new. Great location in the middle of the Old City. Staff was super friendly and the bar and food service were both excellent. Would absolutely return in the future.

Yelp
We stayed here September 23, the staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, bed soft and bedding was excellent! Located in central city within walking distance of all the fine restaurants and shops in Quebec. I recommend this hotel for everyone who needs a quiet nights rest! Loved it!
