Our group of 10 enjoyed the tour. The guide was nice, but she showed a presentation on a tablet. I’d suggest hanging a TV on the wall so a large screen is visible to all. It was hard for my friend with vision issues to see. The $20 tour fee we each paid was extremely overpriced for the small size of the facility (not more than 1,000 sq ft) & for the time of the tour. Granted, many of the chocolate pieces are a stunning work of art. However, if you prefer milk chocolate you’re out of luck and will be very disappointed because everything is dark chocolate! It may SAY milk, but it’s all dark. I love supporting fair trade businesses, but the prices are very high. And, the cafe recently relocated so you can no longer stop here for a cafe treat or Mexican hot chocolate. Glad I went because I saw this business featured on Arizona Highways a year or so ago and wanted to check it out. I enjoyed the chocolate covered cashew brittle purchase, but wouldn’t return or really recommend.

My partner and I came here to celebrate Valentines Day, we got the choose your own box of 15 and every bonbon we ate was divine! We also got drinks, they got the Chai and I got the Cocoa Nibs Horchate which were both incredible. The atmosphere is really chill and there is enough space to sit and enjoy your chocolates. Would recommend this place for anyone who needs a gift or just wants to eat some amazing chocolate.

Google
Amazing artisan chocolate! Outstanding spot to highlight Tucson City of Gastronomy ingredients. Delightful chocolate, ethically sourced and made with precise beauty. I stoped by on Valentine’s Day treated my self to a Vegan chocolate tasting, paired with an oat milk macchiato. Every bite was beautiful. Great staff! They have all kinds of different chocolate options from hot chocolate, cacao nibs, bon bon’s, chocolate bars, and more. If you love chocolate or are looking for a gift this is a perfect choice. 🫶👍🏼

Google
Delightful chocolate bars sourced from all over the cocoa growing world. Hand painted chocolates by the piece. Ice cream. Coffee. Interesting tea selections. Friendly, knowledgeable staff willing to engage and explain anything. Got a white chocolate mesquite bar and Madagascar dark. Coming back for house made ice cream. Shop/factory takes sanitation very seriously. No place to hang out inside. Get your ice cream and mosey on outside to the tables, Pardner. Also best hot latte I ever had in Tucson. Chocolate bars range from $9.99-11.99, had to take off a star because it’s priced so high you almost can’t enjoy eating your paycheck.

Google
Gorgeous cafe (the atmosphere was seriously so delightful) with delicious pastries made from bean to bar chocolate. They were out of their single origin chocolate bars and bonbons but were upfront that it was because of the holiday slam (which is understandable). I had a Mexican hot chocolate and a s’more that was everything I wanted and more. Their more savory menu looked tasty, too.

Google
OMG, anything with chiltepín pepper is a MUST TRY here. Also the almond praline was to die for. The coconut caramel tastes exactly like the coconut spread they put on toast in Singapore. Those were my favorites out of the eight chocolates that we tried. All the flavors were very well balanced and not too sweet and also BEAUTIFUL. Very Instagram worthy and also taste great which is a rare combination. This place has odd hours and their cafe isn't open for another week or so. Staff was really nice.

Google
This local Tucson chocolatier gets nothing but praise and prizes. Though open a few years, I finally went to see and taste for myself. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. When I asked about how well they’d hold up in/out of the car on a warm Tucson day, they promptly offered ice packs. Got home and indulged in two pieces...🙃 wow! Can’t encourage enough...you.must.go! - Evelyn

Google
Just stopped in for a Mexican hot chocolate and boy did that hit the spot!! A little thick, & kinda spicy, this cocoa is delicious. They also have truffles & bonbons but I stick to the drinkable kind. Staff was nice and everything clean. Mask required.

Yelp
For starters this is not a cafe. When I looked this up it came up under coffee and cafe. No it is not. It is a gift shop and factory. They have chocolates and chocolates and more chocolate. It is pricey but I like helping out a small business. The chocolate itself is wow factor amazing. Totally recommend

Yelp
If you're looking for some high quality chocolate and don't mind spending a little money this is the place. I was out looking for a gift for my wife and she loves chocolate, I ended up at Monsoon and was quite impressed with their selection and quality. These chocolates taste amazing and look like little pieces of art. They packaged them up in a nice box and bag. I was worried they didn't label the flavors but they have a nice little online flavor guide. My wife was so happy with the chocolates and I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Yelp
Didn't realize there would still be bakery options at the original Monsoon chocolate! Bought a box of their chocolates for a friend that needed a pick up and then enjoyed one of their corn cookies with cocoa nibs. Not my favorite dessert of theirs as the corn taste was quite strong but I enjoyed trying the new dessert. The miso brownies are still my favorite! Can't wait for their new location to open with the cafe!

Yelp
I've been meaning to come here for awhile and see what it was all about. From the outside to the inside, the decor is top notch. It's a combination of artisan chocolate shop and coffee shop with an espresso bar. On my first visit, I ordered 4 chocolates and 2 hot chocolates. One was Sonoran (chiltepan) hot chocolate while other was the seasonal cardamon rose. Both were delicious and served in an earthen stoneware mug. The chocolates all looked amazing, they were the most decorative that I've ever seen. We ordered 4, they all happened to have caramel filling, and it was the smoothest caramel that I've ever had in a chocolate, I'm guessing this is what fresh caramel should taste like. You can order chocolates at the front counter and order coffee/hot chocolates at the side where the espresso bar is. Overall I liked everything about the shop except for the tip request when ordering chocolate only. It seems a bit crazy to ask for a tip on chocolates when they are already quite pricey. Tip denominations starts off at 18%. Tipping someone for making your coffee is one thing, but asking for 18-30% percent for ordering chocolates is another.

Yelp
Monsoon Chocolate is the only bean to bar craft chocolatier in Tucson. Good luck to others because Monsoon's transparently sourced beans yield a complex flavor. The bonbons get most of the attention from their beautiful appearance, rightfully so, but they also boast amazing flavors to match. They offer matcha sesame, cocoa nib horchata, and coconut caramel non-dairy vegan bonbons. They make wonderful gifts to others or a treat to yourself. The indoor space is as elaborate and beautiful as their bonbons. There are a few tables to sit to take in the aroma and enjoy a beverage. I recommend the cocoa nib horchata which is made with rice milk or the Mexican hot chocolate. The latter has a little spice that kicks in after about 2 or 3 seconds.

Yelp
The hot chocolate was delicious, what more is there to say, haha. We tried three different kinds, all were great. We also tried some bourbon chocolate candies...so good! Service was fast and friendly. It's pretty out of the way for us but I will definitely go back, maybe with a few friends!

Yelp
I recently visited Monsoon Chocolate, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The chocolates not only showcased exceptional quality but were also crafted into beautiful, artistic pieces. Each bite was a heavenly experience, and the attention to detail in their creations was truly commendable. A must-visit for any chocolate connoisseur. They also have a great selection of items in their gift shop area!

Yelp
Monsoon chocolate is Tucson's only bean to bar shop. They make excellent award winning chocolate bars from single origin beans. They also have a wide selection of bon bons, four of which are vegan. I, myself, prefer the bars. The chocolate isn't exactly cheap, but it's on par with other bean to bar shops around the country. They also have a small cafe with various drinks and ice creams. I've tried the Mexican hot chocolate, which was good, but wayyyy to spicy for me. Will go for the house hot chocolate next time. They can make their hot chocolate with oat milk and you can leave out the homemade marshmallow to make it vegetarian /vegan. Hours are limited so check their social media for cafe/shop hours. Definitely worth a trip and their chocolates make excellent gifts.

Yelp
World renowned chocolate is found in Tucson here! If you Google Monsoon Chocolate, you get to see all the awards they have won - for their bonbons especially but also their chocolate bars and others! It's pretty special to visit such a famous chocolate place. For chocolate bars, they have sooo many. I love white chocolate, and the blue corn atole white chocolate bar is so good. So is the mesquite white chocolate. The bonbons are of course gorgeous and beautiful to look at - not to mention that there are so many different flavors to try - get the Sonoran sea salt, prickly pear caramel - these are classics. Otherwise, just explore; the flavors aren't always super strong or obvious but they are so enjoyable to try! The workers behind the counter are all so knowledgeable and helpful for advice. We also love the peppermint bark for the holiday season (definitely less minty and more dark chocolatey) and the peppermint malt balls (think minty whoppers). I also got the Sonoran hot chocolate in house (there is a perfect amount of heat that chases that hot chocolate), which was delicious. There are so many other things I need to try! Lastly but definitely not least, it is also so wonderful that everything is thoughtfully fair trade. Take a look at their website to see all of their thoughtful sourcing that explains how much they pay for their chocolate ingredients. It's pretty amazing. Bc they are fair trade, their prices are a little bit on the higher side but this is 100% worth it when you hear their story. Monsoon Chocolate is the best! I don't live in Tucson but I make sure to go every time I visit!

Yelp
Wow. The chocolate ice cream was to die for. A must have! Very cozy place. Just order and leave. People were very nice and informative. No seating. Parking was okay. But did I say the ice cream was fantastic? It tasted a million times better melted, like a mouse? Delicious!

Yelp
Some friends and I went on the chocolate tour here at their chocolate factory. They are in the process of adding a second location, so the place didn't look like it normally would. When we entered, we could smell the chocolate. The tour was very interesting and we learned about the entire process, from the farms in other countries, to sorting the various cocoa beans, to roasting them, making them into chocolates, and packaging them. Then we got to try a couple of samples of chocolate bars--one dark chocolate and one milk chocolate. We ended by each of us picking out a small chocolate candy from their wide variety of yummy flavors. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The chocolates are priced out of our budget, but I could see getting some for special occasions or gifts for people. The quality is top-notch!

Yelp
Finally tried some chocolates here. We Did a 4 pack. Beautiful works of art! We had the salted caramel, peaches and cream, salted rose caramel and a purple one (I think prickly pear or hibiscus?). The salted caramel was our fav. The peaches and cream came in second place. They have seasonal items as well (they were making chocolate bunnies for Easter while we were there). Pastries and drinks. They have indoor and outdoor seating. they had a 50% off sale on some of their candy bars. I Definitely Recommend checking this place out

Yelp
My daughter has wanted to bring me here forever. Finally got our chance yesterday. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! OMG the frocho was the most delectable drink I have ever consumed! My new obsession! The bon bons were scrumptious looking and I will return for them when seeking elegant gifts. We bought cashew brittle and malt balls and had a great time enjoying them! The employees were helpful and knowledgeable. This store is very cute and can't wait to come back for more frocho!!!

Yelp
This shop is so much fun!!! Beautiful chocolates are made here and the service is fantastic! We got a box of 8 chocolates and each were so good!! There is a coffee shop right inside and tables to relax at while eating their divine treats!! We had a miso brownie as well which was delicious!! They have a jar of chocolate that is absolutely, positively sinful!!!!! Do not miss this!!! What a great find!!

Yelp
One of those special foodie stops when you visit Tuscon, make sure to save a whole lotta dollars and calories in reserve for a visit to Monsoon Chocolate. We bought a box as a gift, and at $50 for 15 gorgeous signature collection hand painted craft chocolates that is about $3.40 a chocolate. They can also be bought individually. We grabbed a few bars of chocolate and several bon bons to sample on the spot. They also have packages of dark chocolate covered mango, dark chocolate covered craft marshmallows, and other yummy looking creations in their display case. Our favorite items include the various jewel tone bon bons that taste as good or perhaps better than they look (which is often not the case for chocolates this beautiful.). The wall is covered with awards, so you can chose your award winning flavor, including pepper rose, prickly pear carmel, matcha sesame rice milk, and blueberry oat cardamon. We didn't try their housemade Mexican hot chocolate with crafted marshmallow, but wished we had. The frozen hot chocolate sounds like the perfect hot weather freeze.

Yelp
The chocolates here are so flavorful and light. I'm glad I finally made it out here. The best chocolates that I've had since the ones I ate in Europe 2 years ago. My all time favorites here are the grapefruit fennel pollen and the EXO coffee. I wrote in another one of my reviews that I do not like fennel and will stay away from it at all costs. However, if the fennel is not in seed form, I'll try it at least once - I was more than happy I did. I love grapefruit flavors, scent, everything, and this dark chocolate bon bon delivered, as did the EXO coffee. The EXO was just a tiny bit acidic and had a tasty smokiness that was great. Someone please, buy me a box of 6 grapefruit and 6 EXO coffee, I will love you forever!

Yelp
I have been wanting to visit this location for a long time! I walked into the shop and immediately was hit with a delicious smell of chocolate. The shop at South is absolutely beautiful and they were making chocolate right in the shop pick from prepackaged chocolate or individual truffles. I wish we had time to check out the café, so I'm going to have to make another trip! I bought a bonbon pack and a sea salt, dark chocolate Bon bon to try, and it was amazing!

Yelp
A very creative and unique shop! It took me back to Belgium, with the artistry and care they take with each chocolate.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
Friendly staff and beautiful space! Lots of creative vegan options. Each bonbon was impressive in appearance and taste, and I loved their creamy cocoa nib horchata! I'll definitely be back for more.
google avatar

Yelp
Expensive but with the money. And they mostly only offer caramel chocolates. Please offer more than just caramel! My girlfriend hates caramel so it was between two different chocolates:(
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
Great chocolate place. Unfortunately they were doing some remodeling so there wasn't much to highlight. It's my understanding they are opening a second location. Looking forward to it
google avatar

Alexandria M.

Yelp
The chocolate was great and the option for non dairy was amazing. I think it's a good place to try at least once, but I think it's more of a special occasion option for me due to the price point. Other than that it was enjoyable!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the springtime Bon Bon box for my MIL for Mother's Day. She got them on Monday and they arrived in-tact. She said they were beautiful and delicious. The only reason for the four out of five stars is b/c I haven't had them myself. Stay tuned...
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for last minute Christmas gifts and a hot cocoa with a friend. I love their new set up and packaging of the products.
google avatar

Yelp
Really beautiful atmosphere and the chocolates are top notch! We got the Mexican hot chocolate and a cappuccino...both were great!

Yelp
Monsoon Chocolate is a chocolate lover's dream in Tucson! Highly recommend if you're looking to shop local for the holidays and want high quality, specialty chocolates. It is on the pricey side but you are paying for quality. The bonbon display is beautiful (so hard to choose what to get) and the flavors rotate; you can get 4, 8, or 15 pieces in each box. They even offer some vegan pieces which are delicious too (tried one made with sesame milk and would have never known). They also have a variety of chocolate covered fruit, nuts, and marshmallows, and chocolate bars - the bag of dark chocolate covered mangoes did not last very long in our house! Can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious chocolate and their cafe items like the hot chocolate.
google avatar

Josh N.

Yelp
Really great little chocolate shop. Love all the chocolate bar origins they have. Buy a few different bars and do a tasting event. The mocha was super tasty and the choco taco is perfect for a hot day. They really have a great space here and great variety and quality products. This is really high quality craft chocolate.
google avatar

Abigail A.

Yelp
Monsoon chocolate has some of the most delicious bonbons I have ever tasted! They use delicious chocolate, local and natural ingredients, and they sell out quick! If you plan to sit and drink coffee while you enjoy your chocolates and read a book, this is a great place to do that. They also have options for you to purchase items like their take on a Choco taco. They also sell some specialty drinks using their chocolate. They also sell basic common coffee items. If you don't live in Tucson, they have a website where you can order boxes of chocolates, as well as some of their merch. They usually have some staple bonbons, but they also will rotate some specialty types. The decorations on top of the chocolates are amazing and so artistic! They look like little gems and jewels!
google avatar

Kala W.

Yelp
Just very thankful to live on the opposite side of town from this amazing place. Also thankful I am a teacher and can't afford to make this a regular habit. Great staff and product. I will for sure be buying birthday gifts from here.
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
What can I even say about this place? I love it. The first time I got to try anything from Monsoon was at the "Why I Love Where I Live" store and we hadn't seen any local, artisan chocolate before. It was a chocolate bar with cacao from somewhere I'd never even considered before and there was so much depth of flavor. We ended up going back to the store the next day to buy all the other flavors they had available. Last year, early in the pandemic, I ordered online directly from Monsoon and had the hand-crafted bon bons delivered. They were a peak chocolate experience in my life. Even if you don't like every flavor, the artistry of each bon bon still makes it enjoyable. We've been back several times now and it is one of the places I like to take visitors from out-of-state, so that they really can see why Tucson is a city of gastronomy.
google avatar

Sean F.

Yelp
Wife and I are huge bean to bar chocolate snobs. We tried Monsoon in a chocolate subscription we get monthly. When we came to Tucson on a trip we knew we had to go there. Started with a Mexican hot chocolate which was delicious. Then one of the employees did a tasting with us. We went through a large variety of chocolate from 100% down to 64% and a blue corn white chocolate and a whiskey barrel aged chocolate. Loved them all. Left with 6 bars to take home. Highly recommended if you appreciate high end chocolate or if you like any kind of chocolate.

Yelp
Monsoon Chocolates is a chocolate shop and cafe that has exceptional chocolates. I always recommend this business to family and friends! My first time in here was right after Valentine's Day and they were pretty much wiped out. They had a deal though, 4 assorted chocolates for $5, and I was immediately hooked.

William S.

Yelp
The best Chocolatier in Tucson hands down ! Do yourself a favor and go get some of their specialty chocolates.
google avatar

Sara F.

Yelp
The most creative and colorful chocolate you'll ever find. The taste is exquisite too!

Yelp
Hidden Gem ( Literally)! This place is quite amazing, delicious and beautiful chocolate bon bons. With many many unique flavors, and tasty mexican hot chocolate, tea, etc. Been here a few times and just as a disclaimer- not the most affordable, but each bon bon is very unique and worth it. First time we went in we got their sale special where they had a event that they sell a mixed bag of bon bons for $5 each, worth it. Went back following week and tried several - roughly near $30 but we cut into the bon bons and shared with friends. The atmosphere is also very calming and relaxing. Greta to go on dates or casual get togethers with friends and family. 4 Location a bit hidden, and can almost drive by. 5 Service 4 Price, a bit high, but really good... 5 cleanliness *Tip, check out their facebook page for events and discount codes!

Yelp
Although leaving Monsoon disappointed I think there is potential here. My absolute favorite chocolate shop in Phoenix does small batch/origin series/bonbons and while in Tucson for the weekend I was excited to see somewhere comparable! I assumed they would be close to the perfection of my other spot. The shop not only has the chocolates, but is also a cafe with avocado toast, salads, sandwiches, pastries, plus coffee and tea options. We came strictly for the chocolates though. I had heard they were having some issues with stocking bonbons as they have been quite in demand. When we arrived around 10:30am on Sunday they still had four flavors available - perfect for a four piece box. They also had several bars available. We had to stand around for a bit before we were acknowledged. I get being busy but even when we were helped it wasn't particularly friendly. I get it, we all have bad days, but I also am dropping at least $30-40 on chocolate so the fact that I feel like I can't ask questions regarding flavor profile isn't great. But, it is forgivable. We ended up leaving with a bar of the Ucayali Peru 75% dark, a bar of the mesquite white, and the pecan gianduja, mezcal caramel, blood orange dulce de leche, and prickly pear caramel bonbons. I was so excited to try them. With other bonbons I like to eat them in a couple of bites to really savor the flavors that can come out in good chocolate. The one downside to monsoons were the super liquid centers. While the flavors were pretty decent, the filling got messy quick and sometimes even overpowered the actual chocolate covering. The pecan was my favorite since the center wasn't too soft so the flavors could really blend together. They are definitely on the right path but may just need some additional tweaking. The bonbons are gorgeous though, great presentation and would be an amazing gift. The mesquite white chocolate bar is interesting. True white chocolate that almost has a toffee-esque taste as you let it melt in your mouth. Neither of us were fans but I think that is just personal preference. The Peru bar was super smooth for 75% and I quite liked it. I would definitely stick to the bars if I returned in the near future. Overall I think there are some great pieces to be tried from their chocolate collection, but some don't quite live up to what I expected at the price point. I would give them another shot if I was in town again to see how things are going. They absolutely have the potential to knock it out of the park in the future!

Yelp
Easy order online, easy pick up fir delicious dark chocolate! I have eaten the dark chocolate covered mango and cannot wait to bite into the macaroons! Or the chocolate bar I got!

Yelp
I am a bona fide chocaholic and have read many good things about Monsoon Chocolate. When out-of-town family came to visit, we decided to give it a try. Let's start with the chocolate...not surprisingly, it's available in many forms. Beverages include the house hot chocolate, mexican hot chocolate with chiltepin and cinnamon, a chocolate phosphate, and more. Desserts include the Monsoon cookie with rye and dark chocolate, muffins, a chacotaco, pot de creme, and more. Naturally, there are chocolate bars from single origin or blends, beautiful bon bons, and cacao nibs. In short, this is chocolate heaven. Since it was our first foray (we will be back), we tried the house hot chocolate, the Monsoon cookie, special strawberry cookie, and the wildflower honey cornmeal muffin with apricots. The house hot chocolate is amazing! - it's thick and tastes like you're drinking a dark chocolate bar. It's nothing like the grocery store boxed hot chocolate nonsense. The Monsoon cookie was lovely, with the distinct taste of brown butter mixing nicely with the dark chocolate and touch of salt. My partner enjoyed his cornmeal muffin enough to not share it, and our guest liked the strawberry cookie. Before we left, we purchased several bars of single origin chocolate to enjoy at home and are working our way through them now. Each has its own unique notes. Delicious. Why not 5 stars? We weren't asked if it was our first time in, no one offered explanations for menu items or made recommendations, and--while prior reviews show a breakfast/lunch menu--none was to be found.

Betsy L.

Yelp
This local chocolate shop is the perfect place to treat yourself to a little something sweet! I loved the Mexican hot chocolate. It's incredibly good: thick, spicy, and aromatic. I dropped in a couple of the house-made marshmallows, which held up well in the chocolate. Taking occasional bites of them in between sips of the chocolate creates a nice contrast that reasserts the delicious spicy-sweet of the drink. The serving is small, but the drink itself is so rich that a large portion would probably be too much. The bon bons are not only uniquely flavored and made with local ingredients, but very beautiful as well. A small box would make an excellent gift!

Yelp
Monsoon Chocolate is everything I thought it would be and more! They took over the La Buena tortilla factory and restored it beautifully. The chocolate and their food is equally beautiful and delicious. The Chocolate: They make everything in house. From the bonbons, which are seriously works of delectable art. You can also indulge in chocolatey drinks ranging from house hot chocolate, Mexican hot chocolate, frozen hot chocolate, and much more, like dessert which are still in the works. We samples the frozen hot chocolate and it's insanely good...topped with the tiniest touch of sea salt. The coffee: They are still working on sourcing an espresso machine, but the iced Japanese style coffee is really food. The Food: They serve breakfast all day! We enjoyed the smoked avocado toast, the Maftoul Salad (couscous with preserved lemon, fennel, sumac spiced garbanzos, yum!), and the Vietnamese Chicken Salad. We enjoyed the entire meal. The chicken salad was a little under seasoned, perhaps it needed more dressing, but everything was super fresh. Everyone is really nice and super welcoming- from Adam (head chocolatier/owner), to Nathan (culinary lead), Alana ( beverage and coffee extraordinaire ) and Jamie, Adam's lovely partner. We also purchased a box of chocolates to gift for Mother's Day and they kind enough to start the box for us and finish it as soon as they had more bonbons in stock. Jamie called us the next day with an update too. I really appreciated that very much! A welcome addition to our local scene indeed!

Yelp
CLOSED INDEFINITELY DUE TO TEMPERATURE CONTROLS IN THEIR BUILDING :( Monsoon Chocolate is even better than anticipated. When I went they were out of their now famous Bon Bons. But the lunch menu on its own is amazing. I had the Vietnamese Salad & my husband had the Spec Americano. The Vietnamese Salad was just like eating a deconstructed Bahn Mi and they just nailed it. The Spec Americano was equally delicious and a bit decadent with its delicious cheese. But what would a trip to a place called Monsoon Chocolate be without chocolate? Never fear they serve up an amazing Frozen Hot Chocolate that is delicious and rich in cacao without being sweet. They even topped it off with shaved chocolate on top! All in all I cannot wait for them to open their doors again, I will be there!!

Yelp
Monsoon Chocolate was good and has the potential to be amazing! They are just starting out, but there are clearly some kinks to be worked out. Let's start with the basics; whoever makes their pastries and chocolates is a genius. I don't give this compliment lightly, but their pastries and chocolates are straight up 5-star-would-impress-any-master-French-pastrychef/chocolate-next-level-deliciousness! I was actually incredibly excited when I discovered Monsoon Chocolate on Yelp, and had to put it on my Tucson list. As delicious as their avocado toast looked in the reviews, I wanted to try something else. The pastries looked delightful and the scone with the Mesquite White Chocolate caught my eye, because of the chocolate used in it. First, I want to say I'm not a scone person, I normally hate scones. This scone was life changing.. it was buttery, it was crispy, it was moist, it was lightly sweet, but not too sweet - it was just amazing. The caramelized underside was to die for (all scones going forward will have to benchmark against this). My husband tried the bacon and egg empanada, which I was able to have a little taste. It was nice but bland (the bacon was not noticeable), and I felt the decorative edge was a little too thick. I think they should serve it with something like an aji verde; please add that to your condiment options for this! My only complaint on the pastries in general, is that I would like to see smaller ones at a lower price point. I honestly wanted to try more things here, it's just everything was so darned big and filling! I love that they have chocolate samples and marshmallows out. I know the marshmallows are for the hot chocolate, but I had to snag one anyhow. I will say the marshmallows are delicious, but should be kept in an air tight container to stay more pillowy in texture. I love that their menu is simple to read, pastries are well organized, labeled and priced. Their chocolate however, isn't as straight forward. I asked the lady at the cash about the individual chocolate bon bons and how much each were and I was quoted $2.50 each. I agreed to purchase four; looking back at my receipt I was charged $13.00 (making them $3.25 each) not $10.00. The Mesquite White Chocolate bars are truly unique, but at $9.00 a bar, I'm not sure how many I would buy or how often to be honest (they seem more like a special occasion gift). I'd like to see a more bulk quantity Mesquite White Chocolate for a lower price point, so I could experiment with it in my cooking as well! Also, since the Mesquite White Chocolate is a packaged item, I think in addition to ingredients it should have a nutrition label. They do claim the sugar is equivalent to 70% dark chocolate... but how much is that exactly? I was also disappointed there were only two types of chocolate bon bons when I arrived (and I did arrive early in the day). Monsoon Chocolate needs to have more chocolate bon bons at all times, over half the display cases were empty (and bon bons do have a good shelf life). The chocolate bon bons available on my visit were the Whiskey del Bac, and the Chiltepin Dark Chocolate. I was really hoping to get the Prickly Pear or even the Pecan ones as they are closer to what I like. I did after all make a special trip to Monsoon Chocolate just for the bon bons! Now that I was overcharged/misquoted on the bon bons I feel really gipped! Needless to say I think they need prices on all their chocolate items to avoid this confusion! The bon bons are beautiful, but small, and after tasting them (and as one reviewer said, there isn't much alcohol in them), I can't justify buying them again for $3.25 each, even $2.50 is steep. I can however recommend the Mesquite White Chocolate, but not too often because the price is quite a splurge. The building itself and decor are perfect with a retro kind of feel. Since they have beautiful windows into some of the prep area I think they should really put the pastry/chocolate making process on display and take full advantage of it (like Soma Chocolatemaker (distillery district location) does in Toronto, Canada). While you're at it, add some ice cream and gelato in there, because this is a hot climate after all and there is no better way to enjoy chocolate. I think with time and refining, Monsoon Chocolate will be a 5 star stop. I can't wait to see how they grow over time.

Yelp
I've had several bars of Monsoon chocolate over the years, but today I indulged in an entirely new treat: FroCho, otherwise known as frozen hot chocolate. Because on a day when the temperatures are surging to 110, you want to freeze everything - even your hot chocolate. And wow, what a treat it is to sip your way through 20 ounces of cool, rich chocolatey magic, served up by a friendly chocolatier whose smile radiates through the requisite mask.

Yelp
Love Monsoon chocolate. Their gem-like creations are perfect for gifts or treats for yourself. The 4-count truffle boxes make perfect stocking stuffers. I didn't think it was possible but their chocolate tastes even better than it looks. I love that you can order online for pick-up. They've recently started offering frozen treats as well. I can't wait to try the miso brownie ice cream.

Yelp
Ive been dying to get here on a saturday but never make it in time! That was until last saturday when i made it a point to get something special for my hubby's bday. Boy was I surprised! They have the best sandos as they call them! I ordered the mortadella sando that had homemade pesto, pecorino, and other goodies! It came with a huge side of veggie chips! Tasty!! Now for the main event! Bom boms! These little works of art are so beautiful that you think twice about devouring them! But then you do, and then you are hooked! Damn they can make chocolates! A must support for our community! These guys have talent and know quality ingredients! Please stop by and support them!! You will not be disappointed

Yelp
Enjoyable with one quirk. I had the smoked avocado toast ($8), which was tasty and interesting and beautifully presented. Also the frozen hot chocolate ($5). Again, tasty. Nice blend of chocolate. For $5, I'm not sure that I will repeat the purchase, though. It comes in a metal cup with a copper straw, which is the bomb. I also had three bonbons ($2.50 ea.), which were all beautifully crafted, especially the mezcal. Almost too pretty to eat. The mezcal flavor was just right, the alcohol being not too overwhelming, which was nice. The caramel with blood orange was a nice flavor. The chiltepin was OK, but it was very waxy in texture, so I could not enjoy it. The shells of all the bonbons seemed to be just a hair or even a half a hair too thick compared to other bonbons or truffles that I've eaten. Overall, I think I would give the bonbons a 3 star rating. For $2.50 a pop, I would expect something more taste bud exploding, but it didn't happen. As of this writing, Monsoon Chocolate is three weeks old. I think they have a fascinating menu. They are perfect for a light breakfast or lunch. I think he needs to continue developing his chocolatier techniques. The interior is comfortable. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I hope that they are successful and continue to grace Tucson 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Yelp
I love Monsoon Chocolate!! It's a unique experience to try beautifully handcrafted chocolates in a variety of flavors. Seriously, these bon bons are a work of art! We have tried a bunch.. prickly pear caramel, exo coffee, sweet basil, raspberry.. it seems their flavors rotate which is fun because it is always a sweet surprise with non-standard flavors. This place is a bit pricey, so we stick to the small box each time. These make a beautiful gift and it is always so much fun to stop by.

Yelp
I was surprised to be prompted to tip when purchasing pre-boxed chocolates and bars. These are already quite expensive chocolates and I wasn't personally selecting chocolates for a hand-packed box. For comparison, I was never asked to tip when I selected Godiva chocolates for personalized boxes at their shops (back when they were open). I can understand tipping for crafted cafe drinks or when selecting for a personalized box but not pre-packaged items.

Yelp
These are not just chocolate... these are fine works of art! Purchased the four pieces of art.. hibiscus, prickly pear and two different types of caramel... you eyes enjoy the artwork of colors and shapes and your palate enjoys the taste... I love bringing guests from out of town to see this culinary culture gem of Tucson.

Yelp
Never have been treated more horrible in my life at at a establishment. The young white woman with the chopped hair spit hate at us and was super rude. This place needs to teach there employees customer service skills and basic human treating skills.
