Monsoon Palace

I recently visited Monsoon Palace (Sajjangarh Palace), Udaipur, which is another hilltop attraction in the city. The palace is located on a mountain, and it offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and Udaipur city. Especially during the monsoon season, the atmosphere becomes pleasant and refreshing. The first rain of Udaipur feels truly special from here, with clouds moving around the mountains and cool weather all around. The entry fees are ₹120 per person for Indians and ₹500 per person for foreigners. Additionally, if you want to go by your private car, there is a ₹300 car entry fee. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle service (Eeco car) available from the base to reach the palace. The main highlight of this place is definitely the scenic mountain view. You can enjoy wide panoramic views and take some good photographs. However, apart from the view, there isn’t much to explore inside the palace. Personally, I felt that the entry fees were a bit costly considering the limited attractions. Overall, it’s a nice place to visit once for the view and monsoon vibes, but not very exciting beyond that.

Much to explore, gain knowledge. Architecture and sculpture at its peak. Cleanliness and hygiene properly maintained. Staff behaviour is decent. Ambience is top notch. Well maintained. Paid parking. Must recommended. Beware of fraudsters.

Absolutely breathtaking! The Monsoon Palace offers the best panoramic views of Udaipur, especially of Lake Pichola and the City Palace. The sunset here is legendary and worth every bit of the trip up the hill. The white marble architecture is stunning, and the cool breeze at the top is so refreshing. A must-visit spot for photography and peace. Don't miss it!

Visiting Sajjangarh Fort (Monsoon Palace) in Udaipur was an unforgettable experience. Perched high on the hill, the panoramic views of the city, lakes, and surrounding Aravalli hills are simply breathtaking, especially at sunset. The architecture has a serene charm and the open terraces make for great photo spots. I loved how peaceful it felt up there, away from the city buzz. While the climb and entry can be a bit warm during the day, the cool breezes and spectacular views make it totally worth it.

The Monsoon Palace (Udaipur, Rajasthan) officially known as Sajjangarh palace,is a hilltop palatial residence in Udaipur, Rajasthan, commissioned in 1884 by Maharana Sajjan Singh of the Mewar dynasty. It offers a panoramic view of the city's lakes, palaces, and the surrounding countryside. While the interior spaces were not very vast, they were a beautiful blend of traditional Rajasthani and European architectural styles, reflecting the cultural exchange that occurred during the colonial era. The walls were adorned with a few intricate paintings and portraits of the royal family,including Sajjan Sing and Fatheh Singh,adding to the palace's regal ambiance. The beatiful landscapes and garden, adds its attraction. ​There is a small, but good restaurant serving light food, as well as hot and cool drinks. At top we can enjoy 360-degree panoramic view of Udaipur's lakes and surrounding greenery. This is a good location for videography& photogrphy, as well. From entrance, we have to drive 2-3 kms, inside through a hilly road to reach the top. We have to take entry tickets and vehicle pass to go inside. *Opening Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (varies slightly) *Opens on all days of the week. Aim to arrive well before sundown, to experience the magical Sunset view, from the top Sajjangarh Biological Park is a nearby attraction.

The palace was mainly constructed by the king to observe weather patterns, cloud movements, and monsoons, which itself makes the place quite fascinating from a historical point of view. Located a bit away from the main city, the palace sits on top of a hill, and the journey itself starts setting the mood. As you go uphill, the surroundings slowly change, and once you reach the top, the vibe is both pleasant and slightly chilling, especially when the wind picks up. The elevation gives you a calm, almost detached-from-the-city feeling. If you visit in your own vehicle (car or bike), you need to purchase an entrance ticket for yourself and a separate ticket for the vehicle. If you don’t have a vehicle, the government jeep service is available, which costs around ₹120 per person for the uphill ride. The jeep ride is quite enjoyable and adds to the overall experience. The views from the top are absolutely stunning. You get wide hill views, greenery, and a panoramic perspective of Udaipur that looks especially beautiful during cloudy weather or near sunset. The palace structure itself gives a strong royal vibe and is perfect for photos. There is also a restaurant at the top that serves completely vegetarian food, which is convenient if you want to relax and spend some time soaking in the views. Overall, Monsoon Palace is worth the visit for its history, peaceful hilltop location, and breathtaking views. It’s a perfect spot to slow down, enjoy nature, and feel the royal charm of Udaipur.

Historical monuments deserve the respect always because it's a part of ancestral journey. Sajangarh monsoon pallace, carries one panoromic view of invincible hills Aravali. Sunset is nice but don't worries if you miss because so fast the sunset you can observe.Most of the palace areas are under lock and key. One small pictorial bird museum is on the top. Since the path is full of turn try to avoid take bike or own vehicle. Carry enough drinking water. Ticket rice is high 270 total.
