📝My First Ever Backpacker Hostel Experience – And It Was a Ripper!
I’ve always gone for Airbnbs in the past – nice places, but they sure do come with a hefty price tag.
This time, I stayed at a hostel for just $38 AUD a night – absolute bargain!🤩
Before I arrived, I did my homework –
read through all the reviews, good and bad, just to manage my expectations and avoid any emotional rollercoasters🎢.
Check-in wasn't until 2pm, but once I got there, the staff were super friendly and gave me a proper rundown of everything.
🍳The kitchen had all the gear you’d need – plenty of pots, pans, utensils –
and heaps of fridge space. You can tell they actually maintain the place too,
because the common areas were surprisingly clean and tidy. I picked the top bunk this time. Was a bit worried it might be a rough sleep, but turns out the bed was just as comfy as everyone said –
I slept like a log! the room had heating,
which was a massive bonus.
Every bed comes with a pillow, doona, light blanket, and even a towel
– how good's that?
I stayed for a week and honestly had no complaints. There was one tiny toilet downstairs that people online had a bit of a whinge about – and fair enough,
it’s definitely a tight squeeze.
But hey, the place is an old building that’s been converted into a hostel,
so you’ve got to take that into account. Luckily, there are two much bigger bathrooms upstairs, a few separate shower rooms – more than enough for everyone.
Sure, the building’s a bit old-school,
but it’s well looked after and kept clean, which I really appreciated.
All things considered,
the value for money here is unreal.
No wonder it’s often fully booked.
