Montag Coffee Kadıköy

A great café in Kadıköy — the place is small and located on the first floor! I’m not sure what the point is of having a mobile phone store on the ground floor! Anyway, the café is truly special at V6. I tried the Ethiopian roast and it was absolutely amazing! The staff here are friendly! I’ll definitely come back every time I visit Istanbul.

Very friendly staff and chilled atmosphere. It’s located on the second floor ( or first floor depends on the countries ) one has to go upstairs to enter. I had an oat milk flat white (195lr) the coffee was good, a bit less warm to my preference.

One of the best lattes I had not just in Turkey but also in Europe, the barista was very knowledgeable about coffee, played great music and had excellent service

pretty good cappuccino if people aren’t smoking on the patio you should sit outside, it’s gas good place to just sight see people crossing the square. sat here for a few hours and read a book and people-watched bring sunglasses / hat, there’s a roof but the sun in the morning is intense and beams sideways

Great little spot on the 2F on the corner of a lively intersection. Great people watching from the balcony while you enjoy the well-pulled espresso drinks. Baristas were great and helped us with some recommendations for other things in the area.

Super cute cafe on de second floor. Nice to sit at the balcony. A great variety of coffee and a few healthy pastry options. The matcha was a no for me and a little bit on the cold side. But besides that, definitely a place i will give a try again.

Located on the 2nd floor so you'll need to go up the staircase on the side to enter. We ordered the iced mocha and the iced latte. You can immediately tell the quality of their coffee beans is superb. I'd recommend the iced mocha if you like the subtle sweet dark chocolate flavor that isn't overly sweet. Also I wanted to bring back some whole beans as souvenirs. The female barista was extraordinarily helpful, passionately explaining the different profiles of each as well as letting us smell all of their selections. The co-fermented bean selection, although pricier than the others, seemed well worth the price. Can't wait to make some drinks when I'm back home! Also if you buy beans there, they do give you a free drink which is a plus!

I must say one of the best coffees we have ever had around the world. The barista is very knowledgeable. Try the funky if you want to have an espresso based coffee. The outdoor sitting is amazing and you will have a nice view. It is a cute apartment on the first floor of an old building. A dog is sleeping outside.

Love the feel of this place! It has a nice balcony to sit at and it's not a super small coffee shop but it had a cozy feel. The coffee's okay. Honestly, I typically go more so for the atmosphere.

Montag is something of a Platonic ideal of a micro-roastery coffee shop. They have basically every type of fancy hand pour, espresso, and percolation method on the offer, as well as absolutely delicious Turkish coffee. They are serious about their coffee, and thankfully, not pretentious in the least about it. The staff speaks English (the owner did a PhD in Economics at the University of Massachusetts, actually), and there are plenty of outlets and fast WiFi for computer users. There is a great balcony seating area that overlooks one of the small but liveliest squares in the old part of Kadikoy. We heard some fabulous street music, all from above the hustle and bustle of the crowds and while tasting fabulous coffee. There are four tea options: two types of rooibos, one black (spiced, not the over-steeped Turkish standard), and one herbal tea. There are also simple snacks, and we tried the granola and yogurt with fresh plums, which was mouth- wateringly tasty. This place is a gem, and I'm only reviewing it because it seems a shame that not more people know of it yet (it only opened up about 2 mos. ago, and you have to look extra hard to find it). Montag's coffee is simply delicious!

The baristas here know exactly what they're doing. If you want to go to a place that sells really solid coffee, has a pleasant ambience, and a nice area for people watching. The owners are solid dudes and are very passionate about their craft. If you're a foreigner and know a lot about coffee culture, they make good drinks here. I'd highly recommend their iced lattes.
