Montag Coffee Kadıköy

It has really good speciality coffee and I also love the atmosphere there(Nothing extraordinary or different), pretty classic coffee shop. I both buy their beans and drink their coffee pretty regularly. There are better options but non are in Kadıköy Center. So It has great location.

Montag has become my favourite coffee shop in Istanbul after this year's visits. I'm not sure if I missed something previously or if something changed, but the filter coffees this year have been outstanding. In May I had lychee, a co-ferment from Joao Arcila (Columbia) and Coco peach (if I am not mistaken). In December, Landrace and funky berry. The latter being the best yirgacheffee coffee I have tasted in almost 7 years. Very happy

Ideal place to get some work done. Laptop friendly/ calm nice ambiance despite being on a busy street. Coffee is very good. It is located on the second floor and has a small sign at the street level. 👍

A great café in Kadıköy — the place is small and located on the first floor! I’m not sure what the point is of having a mobile phone store on the ground floor! Anyway, the café is truly special at V6. I tried the Ethiopian roast and it was absolutely amazing! The staff here are friendly! I’ll definitely come back every time I visit Istanbul.

the matcha is so good its crazy, the iced latte is heavenly and the lemon cake is absolutely delicious. the bartender slayed!

I must say one of the best coffees we have ever had around the world. The barista is very knowledgeable. Try the funky if you want to have an espresso based coffee. The outdoor sitting is amazing and you will have a nice view. It is a cute apartment on the first floor of an old building. A dog is sleeping outside.

Great bouji upstairs hidden cafe. Lovely staff member who spoke brilliant English and explained the flavours very well!!!

My favorite since 2018. And favorite not only in Istanbul, but all over the Europe. You can always choose beans (from light roast to medium), which is not very often idea. Baristas are always very friendly, they are good experts. Atmosphere is super nice, especially on the balcony. You can seat and observe people from the upstairs. :) By the way, there is one more Montag in Moda, it’s also very nice.

Love the feel of this place! It has a nice balcony to sit at and it's not a super small coffee shop but it had a cozy feel. The coffee's okay. Honestly, I typically go more so for the atmosphere.

Montag is something of a Platonic ideal of a micro-roastery coffee shop. They have basically every type of fancy hand pour, espresso, and percolation method on the offer, as well as absolutely delicious Turkish coffee. They are serious about their coffee, and thankfully, not pretentious in the least about it. The staff speaks English (the owner did a PhD in Economics at the University of Massachusetts, actually), and there are plenty of outlets and fast WiFi for computer users. There is a great balcony seating area that overlooks one of the small but liveliest squares in the old part of Kadikoy. We heard some fabulous street music, all from above the hustle and bustle of the crowds and while tasting fabulous coffee. There are four tea options: two types of rooibos, one black (spiced, not the over-steeped Turkish standard), and one herbal tea. There are also simple snacks, and we tried the granola and yogurt with fresh plums, which was mouth- wateringly tasty. This place is a gem, and I'm only reviewing it because it seems a shame that not more people know of it yet (it only opened up about 2 mos. ago, and you have to look extra hard to find it). Montag's coffee is simply delicious!

The baristas here know exactly what they're doing. If you want to go to a place that sells really solid coffee, has a pleasant ambience, and a nice area for people watching. The owners are solid dudes and are very passionate about their craft. If you're a foreigner and know a lot about coffee culture, they make good drinks here. I'd highly recommend their iced lattes.
