Booked through TripAdvisor. Additional 200 yen/person fee at the hotel - less than a buck and a half US - apparently a local tax or something.||Room was clean, comfortable. In addition to towel & hand towel, Japanese robe or sleeping shirt provided. Large pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash in the bathroom. The porcelain throne came equipped with a bidet toilet seat (very common in Japan).||We rented a room with two bunk beds & a bathroom, so there were four complimentary drip coffee packets. No tea. Non-smoking room.||Same location seems to be listed twice on TripAdvisor as a hotel and a hostel. Some of the rooms I guess are less expensive bc shared baths?||Hotel is about a ten-minute walk to Hakata train station, where you have an attached mall - Amu - luxury brand shopping, a range of restaurants. The expensive restaurants are on the 9th-10th floors. More reasonably-priced food outside the mall/train station on the streets.||From the train station you can take a train (subway?) or bus to the international airport, or other island destinations.

“Very satisfied” (May 27-May 29) I can hardly find anything inconvenient or uncomfortable during my 3-night stay. It has a good location (within walking distance from Hakata Station with easy access to and from other parts of the city). The hotel rate was reasonable (single room) and the staff was kind. If I have another chance to visit Fukuoka, I am willing to choose this hotel again. Thanks.

This was our hotel. The staff were accomodating. There was unlimited coffee in the lobby. The staff let us hold our bags for 4 hours after check out while were in Dazaifu. The toilets were so good and they even had a bathtub. A room could easily fit 4 people but we were 5 so we booked another room. The elevator was quick. It was also cheap. There was also a view of another building and a parking lot, but I thought that was amazing because it was a Japanese parking lot and a Japanese building. There was also typical sort of stair for putting shoes. There is also a refrigerator. The location was a bit unfavorable (10 minutes is a long walk for me, I do not like to exercise that much.) but it was still close enough to some restaurants, vending machines, and the Higashi Hie metro station.

Wow I can’t express how great the staff here are! I came to realise I left something behind at another accomodation and they were kind to ring up and organise post for the item. Please praise the front desk! Also the rooms are nice and clean. It is quite loud the doors when people just let them slam in the middle of the night. I wish guests would be more mindful! But that’s not the hostel’s fault. Bathrooms are clean and hot water plus pressure was perfect. Will recommend!

Great Hostel. I love their common, dining and kitchen areas. Very clean, bright and comfortable. The front desk staff were very nice and some speak very good english. Special thanks to Ms Reina, very kind, professional and helpful. Great Location, around 15 minutes easy walk from Hakata train and bus stations. Overall, I will definitely stay Montan Hakata again if I visit Fukuoka in the future.
