Holy candy! This place has it all and then some! Barrels and barrels of all sorts of candy from your childhood. And lots of new candy too. You want something with Huckleberry? They will have it here! The decor is super fun, lots of old signs and cool relics of past and the town of Red Lodge. They also have a huge selection of pop in bottles. Any kind of soda pop you could want is here! Friendly service. Stop by and satisfy your sweet tooth! It's a great store!

Great place to visit as a tourist around Red Lodge-also if you are a local! But let’s be real-If you are a local you know about this place. Fantastic candy, $9.99 for the bulk candy. They have a lot of huckleberry flavored things too which is great for gifts. Lots of fun things to wander and see. A surprising selection of old school looking lunch boxes

The store itself is an amazing piece of history. Then you see the candy. Like a museum where you can buy candy More flavors of taffy than you could ever imagine And soda flavors that should not exist

Google
This candy store is fantastic! The store included many types of taffy along with huckleberry, chokeberry, and mooseberry jellies. There were many types of old sodas and candies. There was old decor around the building. Staff were kind, store was clean. Would definitely go back!

I was like a kid in a candy store. The Montana Candy Emporium is the candy store of my dreams (and childhood) with so many delicious fun finds. I walked around the barrels of fun-flavored taffy probably 10 times. This place is large and was a literal treat to find! Highly recommend for everyone!

Google
The taffy capital of the world? If you’re in to nostalgic candies in a 50’s setting with every flavor of taffy ever made - this is it! Throwback candy, multiple soda (pop?) flavors, hand made chocolates, fudge by the pound - what’s not to like! For me it’s the taffy - so many flavors there are even three different ones with banana (banana, banana split and banana pie).

Google
Wide variety of candy, sweets and unique deliciousness. A quaint and cute candy shop to shop your heart out. Much to shop from and even some sugar free candy for those that have special dietary needs. I even found a specialized jar of olives that were amazing. I will be back to this sweet spot.

Yelp
The selection could be better but they have a massive collection of taffy to pick from. The young lady behind the counter was super friendly and very helpful, we will def be back again!

Yelp
Went to Red Lodge, MT for the first time and went into this cute candy store! They are known for their huckleberry taffy. I picked up a sample pack and it didn't disappoint. Everything in the store was fantastic from their candies, chocolate and they even had jams and pickled veggies. The staff was super friendly as well! My favorite are peach rings and they were fabulous! Make sure you swing into this local shop!

Yelp
This place is sweet! This is an old, old, old timey movie theater (I tihnk?!) that's been converted into a candy shop. It certainly didn't start off this way. The building seems like it's over a century old, filled with all the weird candies you can imagine! Most of the candy is sold by the ounce or the pound. All the taffies are the same price, it's sold by the pound. They have nearly every flavor you can imagine, but I'd recommend sticking with the huckleberry ones, this is the local berry in Red Lodge that everyone seems to go crazy over. There's a ten dollar minimum on credit cards, so if you're gonna charge it, you're walking out with a whole lotta candy. It's not all just taffy - they have weird stuff like booger flavored jelly beans, or poop themed candy, or potato sweets from Idaho. Sweet! There's so much old stuff here- it's hard to tell what originally belonged up on the walls, and what's been added throughout the years. It serves of a sort of memento from a time yonder when things were sweeter. The guy behind the counter was nice, and eager to carve off big chunks of fudge that they had located behind the counter, by the ounce. Parking was challenging, since it's on the main street of Red Lodge.

Yelp
Visited while on vacation. Loved all the memorabilia and service members pictures. This place is incredible and a definite must see!!

Yelp
Really cool place. Lots and lots of candy. A little pricey but it sure was fun. At the front desk they have this marshmallow with caramel in the middle and coated in chocolate and sprinkles. Absolutely delicious. We got a small bag with quite a bit of sour flavored balls and taffy. It only came to 5.00. Worth it to go in and get yourself assorted candy.

Yelp
The nostalgia will get you. Candy from another generation that takes you back in time. There is a large selection and a wide variety, something for everyone.

Yelp
Incredible. I have recently been on the hunt for old school candy stores. I had no idea I'd accidentally run into one during my trip to Montana. This store is what all candy stores should be. We purchased so much stuff, I needed an extra bag to take home with me on the plane. The chocolate is amazing. The taffy, even more amazing. Taffy seems to be the store's specialty and they all the yummy flavors you can imagine and it's incredibly soft. We still have lots from our June purchase and it's STILL soft, chewy and yummy. Well done!

Yelp
Hankering for a Squirrel Nut Zipper? Do you even know or remember what a Squirrel Nut Zipper is? Here's where you will find them... When walking into Montana Candy Emporium, you get a chilling feel of taking a step back in time. While only being open since 1991, your first thought is 1950. It looks it and feels it. You walk in and on the right side against the wall is an array of candy that you thought haven been made for years, mixed with novelty chocolates, candy bars, huckleberry sweets and such. On the left you'll find their own line of line of chocolates, fudges and truffles. You'll have to try the huckleberry fudge. It's sweet, but really good. Of course, if you don't care for huckleberry you might not like it? The back half of the store are rows of barrels filled with candy similar to a coffee trade and exchange barrel. They sell by the pound, so all you have to do is grab a bag and fill it up. I would recommend only picking up a few pieces of what you actually want because you grab 20 other kinds of candy, which can get a bit expensive if you don't watch it. I was extremely disappointed that they ran out of mini Chick-o-stick. Of the one candy to run out of, it would have to be my favorite. On the plus side, they probably have more huckleberry candy than any other place. MCE, you get 4 out of 5 cavities on the 5 cavity rating scale. Remember to brush and floss after eating all that candy kids...

Yelp
Lots of hard candies and taffy, if that is what you are after. An assortment of oddities and imports, but not super extensive. The place is dark and creepy with an intriguing collection of nostalgia lining the walls, which is not necessarily the vibe I want in a candy store. $10 minimum on a card so bring cash unless you want a LOT of candy.

Cody K.

Yelp
The candy selection here is vast. The prices are reasonable and I like the throwback vibe from all the cool old antiques. Its definitely a nice store and a favorite stop when visiting Red Lodge.

Mary Jo C.

Yelp
If you are looking for any old fashion penny candy stop here. If you aren't stop here anyway it's an experience.

Yelp
What a great find and touch of history inside vintage bikes and motorcycle but the most touching part behind the counter for large panels of ww1 and ww2 service people who have their lives in service of their country from carbon county. Candy hand made. Velvet smooth chocolate turtles.

Kristy J.

Yelp
The older man that waited on us was not very friendly and impatient. Lots of choices of taffy though. Just wish he could have been nicer

Susan B.

Yelp
Every kid and every grown kid with a sweet tooth will love this place. Walk in and step back 150 years to a general store in the wild west.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Super cool candy store with everything from vintage candy cigarettes to rows and rows of taffy (pretty much every flavor imaginable). A ton of hard to find stuff and stuff that will remind you of your childhood, plus house made fudge. 100% worth the stop.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Went today with the kids and was ready to check out and told I was not allowed to purchase the bag of candy because there was a 10$ minimum. Ridiculous!

Mike M.

Yelp
Great selection of candy, but I thought I remembered even more 6 years ago (last time in Red Lodge). Unlike some other reviews; all the bins were full- but a whole lot of saltwater taffy (not really a fan). Would have liked to see some jelly beans and more hard candies. Still, the selection is fun to go through and fill-up your paper bag. Favorite item there- Fruit Stripe gum (didn't know they still made that gum and I bet you 90s kids just sang that ad in your head!). You should stop in for the kid with you and in you!

Deborah C.

Yelp
Great selection but lots of bins were empty. Great looking and very unique shop. Nice kids staffing the counter.

Jim W.

Yelp
Awesome shop in Red Lodge for your sweet tooth. Great varieties. Reasonably priced ($7.99 per lb.) The rustic decor was beautiful.
