Where to Eat, Stay, and Play in Monaco

"At the opposite end of the principality, in what’s technically considered France, the terra cotta-colored Monte-Carlo Beach exudes retro, 1930s charm with Art Deco, California villa-inspired rooms hugging the coastline, and an Olympic-sized saltwater pool that served as a backdrop for Helmut Newton’s Vogue and Vanity Fair shoots."

"Monte Carlo Beach Hotel A landmark since the 1920s, this glamorous resort at Monaco ’s easternmost border with France still evokes the glory days of Monte Carlo, when high-society scenesters were frequent guests. The rooms, airy and bright after a makeover by designer India Mahdavi, have an elevated Deco-meets-nautical vibe with porthole windows, Mediterranean stripes—in turquoise, white, brick red, and beige—tailored furnishings, and artsy line drawings on the walls that recall Matisse and Cocteau. The superb, all-organic restaurant Elsa (named after Elsa Maxwell, the American columnist and hostess who was instrumental in attracting the beau monde to the hotel) is another throwback, while the Olympic-size heated seawater pool—open to guests and Beach Club members who swan around on weekends with their children in tow—remains a draw now as it was then."

Monte-Carlo Beach (Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, French Riviera / Provence) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This small luxury hotel was fully renovated in 2009, and the warm terracotta colour blends in beautifully with its Riviera setting. The sea facing rooms sport a pleasant cruise style with a blue and white colour scheme and made - to - measure furnishings. Impressive spa facilities to relax in style." - Tablet Hotels

Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel Review | Hotels Above Par

"A boutique five-star Relais & Châteaux property on the sun-drenched Roquebrune-Cap-Martin coastline just outside Monaco, it occupies a 1930s Art Deco building revived by India Mahdavi and offers 40 rooms and suites that prioritize calm, coastal minimalism with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies framing sweeping Mediterranean views. Guests enjoy an exclusive private beach and an Olympic-sized pool framed by palms and chic loungers, plus seasonal Jacquemus touches—banana-yellow umbrellas and two pop-up boutiques—bringing a contemporary Provençal flair through October 2025. Culinary offerings range from Michelin-starred Elsa led by chef Marcel Ravin to casual poolside brasserie classics at Le Deck and barefoot, toes-in-the-sand dining at Jondal à La Vigie. Wellness is quietly sophisticated, with PAOMA spa treatments in sea-view cabins, a traditional hammam and morning open-air yoga, alongside a gym and thoughtful service touches. Practical perks include arrival upgrades when available, daily full breakfast, a $100 food & beverage credit, early check-in/late check-out subject to availability, complimentary Wi‑Fi, and easy access to Monaco attractions (about 45 minutes from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport); rates start from around $619 per night."

Had THE WORST experience in Monaco by the beach, with one of your staff.|We only asked for two sunbeds, first kicked us out telling us this is a private area (nobody was guiding us so we sat on an empty bed), then we were asked to walk to the other side and speak to the staff there. So we walked all the way to the other side and tried to find someone to help us. (There was a private event so we were asked to book sunbeds by the beach in advance. So we even have booked them)|The staff I spoke to was very hostile and rude to us. His attitude was like 'this is a private area so F off'.|I assume it was a form of racism, because I saw him being polite to other European guests there.|After just standing in the middle of it so a while, they finally gave us the beds, but at a very awkward place.|THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE AND SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN.|I hope nobody experience something I experienced, considering the amount of money paid to have a pleasant holiday with loved ones.

The Monte-Carlo Beach Club Hotel is simply in a league of its own. From the moment we arrived, we were met with the kind of service that is both intuitive and genuinely heartfelt—staff who remember your name, anticipate your needs, and make every detail feel effortless. It’s rare to feel so well taken care of while still having complete privacy and space to unwind. The outdoor areas are absolutely spectacular—recently refreshed and more beautiful than ever. The Olympic-sized saltwater pool feels like a sanctuary, framed by lush greenery and designer loungers. Direct ocean access lets you float in the turquoise water with views that take your breath away. The beach club is refined yet relaxed, and the food? Simply divine. Breakfast and lunch are a highlight of the day—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented with panoramic views of the sea. The restaurant staff are extraordinary: attentive without being intrusive, warm, polished, and consistently kind. Every meal feels like a five-star experience, made even better by the people who serve it. Our room was supremely comfortable with all the modern luxuries one could want—plush bedding, generous space, and a private terrace overlooking the sea. Add in the convenience of a hotel car ready to take you anywhere in Monaco, and you have a stay that’s as seamless as it is unforgettable. This hotel is a true gem on the Riviera, where elegance, ease, and excellence come together perfectly.

Monte-Carlo Beach Club Hotel is the embodiment of effortless luxury. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless—warm, intuitive, and delivered with a graciousness that made every moment feel special. Whether it was the front desk, the beach attendants, or the restaurant staff, every single person went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable.||||The recently updated outdoor areas are stunning. The Olympic-sized saltwater pool is serene and beautifully maintained, surrounded by elegant loungers and lush greenery. Direct ocean access offers the most perfect, tranquil swim imaginable, with attentive beachside service that makes it easy to spend the entire day soaking in the Riviera sunshine.||||Each meal was a highlight. Breakfasts were fresh, generous, and served with a view that set the tone for the day. But lunch—lunch was something else entirely. Every dish was artfully prepared and bursting with flavor, the kind of cooking you’d expect from one of the top culinary destinations in Europe. Service was impeccable, and the setting made it all the more unforgettable.||||Our room was luxurious, quiet, and incredibly comfortable, with a sea view that felt almost surreal. The hotel car made exploring Monaco seamless, but we found it hard to leave this paradise. Monte-Carlo Beach Club Hotel is the kind of place you dream about returning to the moment you leave.

This was our first visit to Monte Carlo and I’m so pleased we chose Monte Carlo Beach to stay in… |The room is just incredible (23), the most beautiful view and balcony area, a turn down service and exceptionally clean. |The staff are wonderful, each and every one so friendly and attentive.|The spa offer a variety of massages, we had a Swedish today and throughly enjoyed it. |The pool area is just amazing, beautifully kept and again staff go above and beyond to ensure your comfort is perfect.|Fabulous location, we have enjoyed walking in and out of the main square and in the evenings the hotel arrange taxis to get us into the square although I think you can also call the hotel to help you with transport. |We will return to Monte Carlo as we have absolutely loved it, it’s a little hidden gem that we will be frequently returning to and we will always choose the Monte Carlo beach hotel.

Yelp
This beach was great! It was fun looking at the yachts and meeting people from all around. Everyone was very fashionable and friendly. I felt like a peasant with what I was wearing... Next time I'm in Monaco, I'll be sure to dress the part!
