The food was really nice and the staff were lovely but they needed to be slightly more attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing and it was very authentically Italian. Overall it was a nice evening out maybe a little pricey for what you get though, but would still highly recommend it.

Amazing seafood specials, fresh langoustines, scallops, clams, proper Italian food like you used to get. Great service delicious wines and excellent value for money for the quality of the food. Just fantastic! 🥰

OMG. Best Italian restaurant outside of Italy. Food is amazing and service was perfect. Started with scallops, delicious. Mixed seafood with bread, plentiful and soo tasty. Ravioli porcine, so tasty and fresh. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Should be 5 star without a doubt. Will be back ASAP.

Really lovely meal, came with my partner, had the focaccia and the beef ragu pasta for main. One of the best Italian meals I’ve had, very jealous this place is hours away from where we live. Lovely atmosphere and great staff.

As a family, we must have been to Monte Cassino over a hundred times. And tonight was just the best. We took our 1 year old for the first time and the staff all went out of their way to assist us and ensure all was ok. The food was also OUTSTANDING. It’s a fabulous restaurant with great people.

Visited this restaurant with some work colleagues for a evening meal. Everything about this place was amazing the food was outstanding and the service was top notch. All the staff were super friendly and very welcoming. Definitely worth visiting this little gem if your around the area. Also there is plenty of parking at the restaurant too. We plan to visit again next time we are working near 100%

Great food as always. Hadn’t been in for a while, but we both throughly enjoyed the food and service. Mains were delicious and topped off with beautiful desserts. Highly recommended.

Overall a delightful experience the room was rather unique and totally European, the staff was absolutely professional, the food was incredibly tasteful well-prepared well presented the desserts were the joy of the evening. The kitchen actually allow you to split entrées; my friend and I had 50-50 where we actually took an entrée and he had half a plate of one thing have to put another and I had half a plate of one thing and half a plate of another because we couldn't decide and so they split the plates (it's just pasta sauce easy) but who else does that? Melrose is a great little town we go there all the time even though we live in the states we always anchor ourselves in Melrose when we come to Scotland

Welcome Surprise! Sometimes you find a gem in an unexpected place and this was one for us. Superb and authentic Italian food in a little Borders town. We had dinner without reservations on a Saturday and were well treated and well fed. I enjoyed their bread thoroughly and we shared a delicious antipasto plate.

We decided to try this place based on the yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! The food was excellent! I ordered the tortelloni, which was goat cheese and roasted peppers in a cream sauce. It was so good. I meant to take a picture but I devoured it quickly. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

This restaurant was suggested by our B&B hosts. The setting is wonderful in an old railway station. That was just the beginning. The service and food was simply amazing. Both our dishes were beyond anything we have every ordered at an Italian restaurant before. We will return before we leave this part of the country.

Charming Italian run and staffed restaurant. Everytime I have been the food has been excellent! The service is occasionally a bit slow but this barely detracts from the overall experience.

Monte Cassino's is a traditional Italian restaurant in old railway station buildings. There is a large and varied menu including pizza, pasta, meat dishes, and seafood blackboard specials. The waiting staff are very efficient, fast and friendly, and VERY Italian! The decor is quite traditional, pictures of italy on the walls and an old expresso machine. Food is consistently good. The menu is very traditional, pasta served with many different sauces (they'll do you a half portion for a starter), pizzas including calzone, risottos, calamari, veal dishes and steaks and chicken. Desserts include tiramisu and ice cream, and of course they serve great coffee. Pizzas are £7 - £8, pastas from £7 - £9, and meat and fish dishes more expensive.
