Monte Christo Winery

We were recommended this winery as part of our tour and we were very grateful afterwards. It was some of the best wine we have ever tasted! ALL staff were fantastic, knowledgable and we received such a warm welcome. It is clear to see that they have such a passion for their work and care for their customers. Thank you so much. We would definitely recommend this to all!

What a fantastic set up at Monte Christo - outstanding food (with a real homemade authentic flair - Charcuterie Board was amazing!) The staff were so accommodating, helpful and warm. It was a standout for us visiting many of the Central Otago venues. You will not be disappointed - we were not, have been back a few times now - consistently great!

Fantastic! The work that has been put in here is awesome, from the renovation of the historic winery, to the new rooms, to the grounds. Everything is very well done and worth a couple of nights to explore the area. We stayed 2 nights in the Bladier Cottage and loved it. After a day biking, arriving back here is a welcome sight with cold beer and great food from the caravan! Dog and kid friendly. The wines are top notch. I only tried the Pinot Noirs and pick would be the Pisa, Bannockburn and their regular 2022. All grown in their own vineyards. The 2024 Alexandra holds promise of a being special wine in 5 years or so. The 22 is drinking beautifully now.

We stayed in the cottage for two nights and it was a perfect little getaway for us. The cottage was stunning, the area was beautiful and peaceful, and everyone was genuinely friendly and helpful. The food was seriously good too. We left feeling refreshed and already want to come back.

An unforgettable winery experience! We had an absolutely incredible experience at the Monte Christo tasting room in the Gibbston Valley. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed, and beautifully set up for a perfect tasting. A huge shoutout to Guillaume who guided us through the tasting—he truly made the experience exceptional. His knowledge, passion, and genuine enthusiasm for the wines were contagious. He took the time to explain each pour, answered every question with ease, and made us feel completely comfortable, whether we were seasoned wine lovers or just there to enjoy the moment. The wines themselves were outstanding—each one unique, well-crafted, and clearly made with care and intention. Hopefully we will be back to visit the winery in central Otago!

We stayed for one single night (unfortunately) and will definitely stay there again.|The cottage is beautifully decorated, the colours are peaceful and the materials luxurious. The bathroom is to die for, with an outside secluded shower (that we didn’t use due to the weather) . A small log fire can be lit in the lounge on chilly nights. |An ideal place for a romantic getaway. (Our grown up daughter slept on the sofa bed) so we will be going again at some point !|We booked direct and a complimentary breakfast was in the fridge|It was Boxing Day so everything was closed at the winery. A casual dinner at Paulina’s down the road, then back to the lovely house for a very chill evening

Wow! Absolutely worth the detour when travelling between Wanaka and Queenstown. We had a fantastic time, the wine was delicious and the presentation just outstandig. Thank you very much for this fantastic experience! This was the best winetasting we did in the entire country...

Today we visit Monti Christo in Gibston This winery, is amazing, the host is very dedicated, the way he explained the history of Monti Christo was impressive, and most important, the presented Red Wines are fantastic. I say thank you. Rob Broers, Netherlands
