We all had a wonderful time at Monte da Bemposta! I can imagine it would be great for younger kids but my two boys aged 12 and 14 also loved it. Every evening we played padel and the boys enjoyed the table tennis and snooker table. We ended up eating in the restaurant 3 out of 4 nights, the food was very tasty and very friendly service. The accommodation was very comfortable and quiet - we stayed in one of the two bedroom properties a little away from the main pool/restaurant. All the staff were helpful and friendly. It was a very relaxing stay.

The three of us — two adults and one child — stayed for a week. It was wonderful. 'Casa dos Aivados' was the perfect place for us to stay. With two bedrooms, a small kitchen, a large barbecue/fire pit and a whirlpool, it was luxurious and thoroughly enjoyable. It was a 15-minute walk from the main house, which had a pool and a restaurant. There was also a private golf cart, which was an adventure for the little one every time. The additional amenities, such as the sports facilities, playground, pony rides and the many animals on the grounds, rounded everything off perfectly. We would definitely come back again in a heartbeat.

I loved this place. We stayed at one of their cottages near the coast. It was small but nice. Comfy bed and a nice little patio with semi privacy overlooking meadow with wildflowers and the ocean view. The pool was smaller than I had anticipated and very cold so I didn't go in but I'm sure on a hot sunny day it would be lovely. I really enjoyed the location altho' the roads there are very bumpy and you need to be super careful. The surroundings were awesome - fort, great beaches both sandy and rocky, trails, farming countryside. For families it's great as they have lots of activities for young ones. Lots of animals. We had a nice breakfast but the hot food selection was lacking. Service was top notch. We also had a dinner there but it wasn't the greatest. I had pork and it came with some sweet potato puree. It was tasty but not a lot of food for the price and there were no green vegetables just some cold raw cherry tomatoes cut up and thrown on top. Bread was nice. Remember you have to pay for bread and water everywhere in Portugal. All in all we had a great time.

Properly the best hotel we ever stayed at.

Monte de Bemposta was a great way to ease into our two-week Portugal road trip adventure. My wife and I had a very relaxing two-night stay, opting for dinner on the deck the first night, consisting of a huge and sumptuous butterflied sea bass. Breakfasts were equally filling, including endless pastel de nata. Our secluded room backed to wildflower-filled fields with horses roaming. Horseback riding on the beach was a highlight. Suggestions for day tours were spot on. The western Atlantic coast is not to be missed with scenic coves, endless vistas, and picturesque towns. We highly recommend Monte de Bemposta.

Lovely rural accommodation in a beautiful location on farm with animals. If you are after peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The whole property has been done up nicely, modern with a chic country touches. The accommodations are part of a farm on a large piece of land, that has been landscaped very well. It has small breakfast room/ restaurant, communal lounge, outdoor seating, swimming pool, games and various animals in enclosures. We were upgraded from a double room to a studio, which has been done up very nicely and we appreciated the upgrade. You can park right in front with your own entrance directly from parking and small patio overlooking back of the property. It’s not a big hotel, rather a collection of studios, rooms, bungalows in various buildings, smaller than expected and so you cannot just walk in to restaurant/bar at the spur of the moment and order anything (this is off season not sure other times) need to plan and book ahead. We have enjoyed our stay, but there are few upgrades needed like pillows and curtains, really need some black out curtains as gets very bright in the morning. The major issue however is the water pressure, so weak it is difficult to shower. Quality of breakfast items was very good, however we did find the variety to be limited and a bit disappointing for a 4star place, would have expected wider selection.

A gem in Alentejo; the view, the sorroundings, and the experience. Monte da Bemposta is a small boutique rural hotel near Ilha do Pessegueiro and Porto Côvo. The natural landscape is amazing and it is a short walk from the beach. It’s a really nice place to bring your kids and play paddle and feed the animals. Near the beach you can access a ancient fort.

Incredible is all I can say. The staff were the most amazing people. The breakfasts were ridiculously good. The accommodation and plot of land is out of a movie. The amenities are endless. And the surrounding areas and towns are quaint and beautiful. Could not ask for more and will be back.
