Monte Do Alamo - Turismo Rural, a Design Boutique Hotel Tavira, Portugal

"Set on a private estate near historic Tavira, this former farm house has been converted into a beautiful country getaway, nestled amongst almond and olive trees. Just a short drive from attractions such as the Roman Bridge of Tavira, Monte Do Álamo offers a small number of individually furnished rooms. Wake up to the scent of flowers floating into your room from the garden. Enjoy breakfast outside on a sunny day. While you sample regional deliciacies, your hosts can arrange horse-riding trips or other activities. Both rental bikes and packed lunches are available upon request. After a long day you can return to Monte do Álamo for an evening to remember. Soak up the evening sun in a hammock. Later, you can relax in front of the fireplace in the lounge or watch the sunset from your balcony." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

We loved our stay here & wish we could have had another evening. We had 2 nights of wonderful sleep in our studio. The place was plenty big and we really appreciated the larger shower and outdoor shower to rinse off sand before coming inside. We loved spending time on our patio, watching the sunset & loving on the cats that came up to us (which we named Monte & Bemposta!) the animal encounters where you get to feed the llamas, horses, donkeys, alpacas, sheep & goats happens daily at 9am and 5pm and we really enjoyed that. Breakfast was good. The beach in walking distance in front of the hotel and the restaurant there, A Ilha was really yummy. A drive into Porto Covo takes less than 15 min and was always easy to find parking late September. These coves were so beautiful and not busy at all. This was our favorite coastal stop throughout our trip!

We spent six nights here in June and really enjoyed this charming little farm. Our room was beautifully decorated in a Mediterranean style (although the wooden ceiling creaked quite a bit at night), and the garden and grounds were absolutely lovely and peaceful. With only six rooms, the atmosphere is very personal and quiet, which we truly appreciated. Breakfast was wonderful, with homemade bread, yogurt, and fruit – and we loved the many little spots where you could sit and enjoy it.

One of the best places I have stayed in during my visit to Portugal. Very welcoming, coordinated my itinerary per my request. Very communicative and the property is intimate & stunning. I highly recommend the cooking class. You learn the history of each dish and the rationale behind ingredients used. I found it to be very informative!

We had the absolute best time during our private dinner at taste Algarve. Marianna and her family Plan such a wonderful evening and private meal for our group of 20. They told the history and their story of the family farm which made it even more special. Our dinner even included wine from their cousins winery. From start to finish, we were blown away even with the coordination and communication prior to arrival. Marianna and her family anrr absolutely amazing. The food was 10/10 and even better - it came with a phenomenal view. anytime I’m back near their farm, we will definitely book again!

Myself and three others attended cooking school at Monte do Alamo this morning, what a wonderful time! We started at the market in Tavira, had a coffee in the common room and enjoyed the view. Then we cooked Cataplana, a fried goat cheese starter and dessert. Learned a lot, ate a lot, and drank some delicious wine. Great place, great people, give it a try.

We were tempted not to write this review as we wanted to keep the secret of this lovely agroturismo to ourselves!||Located in the countryside just on the edge of Tavira in the east Algarve we couldn’t have asked for a better welcome and hospitality from Rosaria, Mariana and her sister.||Our spacious room with its enormous, comfy bed and little patio was one of just a few others surrounded by landscaped grounds. These included a plunge pool, small swimming pool and a covered outdoor dining area where, weather permitting, breakfast is served.|| Dinner is also available three evenings a week and these are not to be missed! All our meals, continental breakfasts included, were delicious and were accompanied by wines from the family’s vineyard in northern Portugal. Mariana and Rosaria were very attentive but with a light touch and nothing was too much trouble, equally all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. ||The atmosphere is so peaceful it is an ideal retreat in which to chill and|relax for as long as you want. That said there are interesting towns within reasonable distance to visit plus fabulous beaches and excellent nature reserves close at hand. Tavira has lots of excellent restaurants for those evenings when dinner is not provided.
