I came here with a big family and the customer service was amazing! The food was also delicious! They are very attentive and the waiter was very sweet! The chicken had a good flavor. The bread was so fresh and warm. Everything was fresh!

This is long overdue. We ate here in December 2023 with family. It was spot on for the large group of about 12 people, and we sat at combined tables to have all of us at one table. We sat promptly at our reservation time, and the server was excellent in telling us how they do things with dinner since this was our first time visiting. The food was that good ole country friend chicken with all the normal sides. Everything was spot on for the meal. Our server was familiar but not overbearing during our meal. The server kept our drinks filled and asked if we needed any additional food. The other clientele dining knew this was the place to go for a great family meal. Everyone was just enjoying the food and the conversation. We didn't see any phones out unless they were taking pics of the meal. After that, it was all talk and dining. Do yourself a favor... make a reservation, bring the family, and enjoy this off the beaten path for an excellent dining experience. It is worth the drive to this restaurant.

One of the Best Food Experiences I’ve had in a long time! It stays busy for a reason! I do recommend making reservations! Monte Ne Inn Chicken absolutely lived up to the hype—and then some. From the moment we sat down, our server Phoenix made us feel right at home. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and made the entire meal even more enjoyable. Now let’s talk about the food… wow. The chicken was phenomenal—crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and seasoned like a grandms cooked it. Every bite was packed with flavor. I was skeptical about the bean soup, but one spoonful in, and I was hooked—it’s seriously to die for. Even my picky ten-year-old went back for seconds! Every side dish was a standout, from the tender green beans to the warm, fresh bread slathered with sweet apple butter. Everything tasted homemade and full of love. I have family members who’ve been coming here for over 25 years, and now that I’ve experienced it for myself, I completely understand why. This place is a gem and I can’t wait to come back!

Google
Great fried chicken served family style. There is no menu, everyone gets the same thing, bean soup, bread, corn, green beans and the chicken. They'll keep bringing it until you're full. Don't miss out on slathering the apple butter on a slice of the bread. I would give the food a 5, but the instant mashed potatoes and canned corn were what you'd expect from instant and canned. They do have dessert, but I've never saved enough room. Reservations are highly recommended. No alcohol served.

Google
A hidden gem. This family style chicken dinner was top tier. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the mash potatoes are cravable and the homemade bread with apple butter was delicious. However, my favorite bite may have been the starter- the bean soup. My daughter ate 4 bowls.

Google
Monte Ne Inn Chicken is truly a Classic Southern Comfort Food Experience! We decided to make a long weekend road trip to Arkansas. A family member highly suggested for us to try Monte Ne Inn Chicken. If you're looking for a taste of true authentic Southern comfort food with a generous portion size, this restaurant is a must-visit. This family-owned establishment boasts a warm, down-home atmosphere, with friendly service and a menu centered around their famous fried chicken. Highlights: Chicken Perfection: The star of the show is undeniably the fried chicken. The crispy, golden-brown skin gives way to juicy, flavorful meat, cooked to perfection. Whether you opt for a half or whole bird, you won't be disappointed. Sides Galore: The sides are just as impressive, with classic Southern options like mashed potatoes with gravy, creamy coleslaw, buttery green beans, and fluffy biscuits. Generous Portions: Be prepared for large portions, perfect for sharing with family or taking leftovers home. Charming Ambiance: The restaurant has a rustic, vintage feel with antique décor and photos that transport you back in time. Local Favorite: A true community staple, Monte Ne Inn Chicken is often packed with locals and visitors alike, so reservations are recommended. Things to Consider: Wait Times: We were lucky and were able to sneak in without a reservation. As we were told, due to its popularity, there can sometimes be a wait during peak hours. Limited Menu: While the chicken is phenomenal, the menu isn't extensive, so if you're looking for a wide variety of options, this may not be the place. However, this did not deter us as we polished off several large bowls of chicken. Overall, Monte Ne Inn Chicken provides a delightful and authentic Southern dining experience with exceptional fried chicken and generous portions. If you're in the Rogers or Bentonville area, make sure to add this to your culinary itinerary!

Google
Interesting concept where they just bring the meal to the table, just like you were home. Fried chicken just ok. To be honest, I prefer Publix fried chicken! I like that they served white gravy. Corn was nothing special. I had the blackberry cobbler and it was good. I did learn that they use vegetable oil to fry the chicken.

Yelp
What can I say about Monte Ne Inn chicken. It is the best within at least four states, and right up with the top 10 nationally in my opinion, and that include Paula Deen's The Lady and Sons in Savannah, GA (possibly my #1 but that's a very difficult and complex thing to determine). The restaurant decor at Monte Ne Inn has a lot of antique cooking and everyday farm tools and nostalgic signs, the service is great, and the menu simple -- white meat only or mixed chicken and all the fixings served family style until you are full, then you can add on fresh cobbler w/ ice cream if you've got enough room to handle it! This gem has been operating and excellent for over 50 years!

Yelp
Definite middle of the road...... My wife and I went here for lunch yesterday. It is suggested to make reservations, as this place fills up quickly. We were seated promptly, and served the bean soup which was pretty fantastic. Our server Nathan was attentive and on point for our dining experience. Price was pretty reasonable for a bottomless chicken dinner with all the fixins. When you walk in, there is definitely a lot of history inside this establishment...... Main-course wise is a family style chicken dinner, for which you can get more food if you are hungry. Dinner consisted of fried chicken, cole slaw, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and home made bread. The food arrived hot, but the chicken was very very dry. Everything needed salt (I prefer it this way, as I can salt my food to taste but you cannot remove too much salt). The bread was hard to cut, as it was very soft and the knife to cut it was in need of sharpening.

Yelp
The bean soup is the best. Chicken and sides are really good. Great service staff is super attentive. Not fancy just good food.

Debora B.

Yelp
I've been coming to this restaurant for many years and it's always been delicious. Love the servers as always. They really know take care of the customer. Definitely a family friendly place to eat.

Yelp
First, the positive: 1. The service is spectacular! We came not realizing that reservations are suggested; however, they seated us despite being busy. Our waitress was excellent! 2. The bean soup and green beans were very flavorful. So why only 2 stars? To start, the menu is extremely limited. Second, this place has been recognized for having the best fried chicken, be it in NWA or Arkansas as a whole; however, I don't understand why. The dark meat was average, nothing to write home about. On the other hand, the white meat was dry. Combine that with bland corn, lackluster mashed potatoes, and unseasoned gravy (seriously, put some salt in it!), and the overall dining experience was unremarkable. At $17.95 per adult, I would expect at least the chicken to have a wow factor, but since it is all-you-can-eat, it's clear that it's about quantity rather than quality. Most of the clientele were past the retirement age, so it seems that the nostalgic factor, combined with local support, keeps this place in business. That's all well and good, but I would dispute the claim that it's Arkansas's "best fried chicken." It's essentially Cracker Barrel with a limited menu.

Yelp
So other than wait all was wonderful. They do take reservations. We had one and still waited. The soup was a hit and the chicken was fantastic. Usually they have pieces with no bone. The mash potatoes were okay and the corn needed a bit more seasoning. They family style and atmosphere was just was we expected. NWA icon you have to give it a try.

Jim M.

Yelp
The chicken was so-so and the veggies tasted like they came out of a gallon can! Came from the Southwest to visit relatives and asked for them to take us to a great chicken restaurant in the Bentlnville- Roger's area and they took us to Monte Ne Inn. Sorry, I've had better chicken at KFC!

Yelp
We had a large group on July 3rd eve. We had reservations, were seated right away, and well taken care of the entire meal. Excellent service. All food is served family style all you can eat. A bit over-priced but the price point would be doable if they upped their food quality. Chicken was over cooked and dry, although seasoned well. Corn and green beans were likely from a can. Pinto bean soup was the best thing they served and cobbler were very good but very sweet.

Yelp
Five stars because there is no option for 10. Monte Ne Inn Chicken is nowhere near the beaten track. The location is well out of the way even for Northwest Arkansas. The building looks like it may have been there for 100 years (it is closer to 50). The restaurant itself feels old, the walls hold all sorts of farm equipment, the fixtures are warn and feel "old cheap". The kind cheap from the mid-1900's that lacked luxury but was built to last indefinitely. As for the food, I am partial to "in-your-face" flavors and am partial to Louisiana fried chicken. And yet...I would hold Monte Ne Inn Chicken up against any Michelin star winner (no matter how many stars) or any other award winning restaurant. It is for this reason that Monte Ne Inn Chicken itself has a pile of awards that seems to continue to grow. Despite being outside my flavor profile preference, I could taste the mastery of their culinary craft in every bite. I say again to highlight the point...mastery! With the chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and bread on the table, my family all picked their favorite dish. No two people picked the same dish and everyone agreed with each others take. Through and through, dish to dish, this meal was phenomenal. The chicken is no doubt the highlight though, cooked to fall-off-the-bone perfection the secret recipe leaves you with the impression that this is how chicken was meant to be cooked. The staff is stand up on your chair and applaud worthy. They are fast, focused, and yet still manage to be cordial and welcoming. It was impressive, from sitting to exiting every detail of our experience was guided by the Monte Ne Inn Chicken staff. Some would say it was clockwork, but it would not be mere clockwork here, it would be master chronometer certified. Let's be honest, it's doubtful anyone would just happen upon Monte Ne Inn Chicken. Most likely, someone recommended it anyone walking through their door. Thus, I feel comfortable summarizing by saying, whoever recommended this place to you isn't lying. They're telling the truth. It is that good. For me, I took my family there with some skepticism, I left with a core memory. 10 out of 5, can't wait until my next visit.

Jayme R.

Yelp
great service and friendly staff! all you can eat chicken and sides. you can't go wrong!

Judy A.

Yelp
The only reason they don't get 5 stars from me is they serve instant mashed potatoes. The chicken deserves better! The green beans are "like granma made", the bread is even better, and the chicken is - well, what can I say, it's the ONLY thing they serve and there's a line out the door. It's crispy, hot, tender, and, well, perfect. The corn is just corn. The slaw is okay. The gravy is flavorless, but a lot of pepper helps. None of found even a trace of a bean in the bean water, but it was flavorful at any rate. But did I mention how good the chicken is?
google avatar

Paige C.

Yelp
Wow I can't believe all the bad reviews for this place. Last time I came into this restaurant it was delicious. So you walk in and you get seated. They start you off with your choice of drinks. Next they bring out lil pot of beans and bread which I thought was delicious. So after that the real food comes out. Fried chicken mashed potatoes and gravy corn and fresh bread. Now when we ate here it was all good food as well as the service we got. So it's good especially when you have to make reservations to get in to eat at least that was the case with us. I have been here without a reservation and had to wait 30 mins before I was seated.

Yelp
Has been the same for all these years we have been in NWA (at min 15). If you like Fried Chicken and lots of it come and gobble it down. At $17.99 it is only a bargain if you plan to eat enough. Fast and Friendly for sure. Southern Local setting by the lake. Great for campers looking to fulfill their appetite after a long day in water.

Roberta B.

Yelp
The old time restaurant experience! The food was good as well as the service. Definitely don't go if you have dietary exceptions. This is Grandma's Sunday dinner! The desert is Granny's also, very good!

Judd W.

Yelp
Amazing chicken in a Sunday Dinner setting. Absolutely great! Really loved the coleslaw also!

Yelp
I have been wanting to come here for years and finally made it to this icon of restaurants in Arkansas. This is a small town diner with a very unique menu and offering. The place is kept up very well, clean and very well staffed. Most of the tables are pretty large to serve family style. Everyone receives the same food and it is all you can eat. We couldn't eat half of what they brought us. You start with a bean soup, followed by fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, Cole slaw, corn and a loaf of bread and apple butter. The fried chicken was as good as I have ever had! I thought all the sides were ok. We did have the peach cobbler which was as good as I have ever had as well. Service was great and at a fair price.

T W.

Yelp
This is a classic memaw's table dinner. It's all served family style by attentive, and cheerful staff. The food is classic, good, family cooking. Fresh baked bread, bean soup, fried chicken and all the fixins. Just go.

Tara C.

Yelp
Delicious fried chicken and sides. Definitely "comfort" food! An interesting little place that's off the beaten path! Be sure and make reservations.

Raymond B. L.

Yelp
Delicious food, great service, nice antique tools decorating the restaurant, awesome dining experience for our first visit to Arkansas. Highly recommend as you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Amber R.

Yelp
The staff is very nice and super quick, so speedy quick you need to keep your hands away from the table while they slap all the food down in front of you. The restaurant is very old and quaint with antique decor. The food is served family buffet style so you get a large pitcher full of bean soup upon arrival that you can immediately serve yourself as the dishes are already on the table for you. Once your finished with your soup they bring you the meal. There's no ordering. You just get the meal. Fried chicken (our bowl had a breast, a leg and a couple of thighs I think) mashed potatoes, green beans, fresh bread, etc. The food is all you can eat so for a family with kids that's great. If your preference is soft skin, not crispy, fried chicken, you will like it. There's very little seasoning on it so I added some salt for taste. Reservations recommended if you don't want to wait along time. Or just go somewhere else to eat.
google avatar

Karen B.

Yelp
Food was fair, they shuffled our family into the back because they were so crowded. We'd waited about 30 minutes. My chicken was very over cooked - like it had been sitting under a warming light. The sides were things people don't typically cook at home anymore so that was good. It's pretty pricy for chicken, but it was good to go there since I'd heard about it for many years.

Connie M.

Yelp
The food and service is excellent! I especially love the bean soup. And since we live on the lake it's not too far to drive there.
google avatar

Carolyn P.

Yelp
Great meal if you like to over eat!... Lol Food so Good!! This is served family style, all you can eat... Or want to eat. They will replenish your bowls as you empty them. Especially the good fried chicken with just the right amount of crust. Served fresh bread with soft butter and I believe its like apple butter , jelly or something. Wish they had honey butter !! Yes, you can get more bread too. Sides are corn, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and the Best Cole slaw. Oh, and when you first sit down they bring a pot of puree bean soup. Most will crumble crackers into it but I just slurp it. Really good flavor even without whole beans. After meal, go ahead and go for the peach cobbler. Extra charge but really good size bowl to share and delish. This place has been here for years, close to Rodgers AR. If your headed to Eureka Springs or all the craft shows they have in area, it's a great stop. Service it great. The young girl waiting on tables in our area was kept very busy. Make a reservation, if at all possible. Open at 5. There will be a line of people already there waiting when they open and will not be a table empty.

Mike H.

Yelp
At Monte Ne Inn Chicken the food is always amazingly delicious, the service is great and has the old home cooked family dinner atmosphere,

Riley P.

Yelp
This is a cool spot for family groups. Their chicken was tasty and the couple of side options meant the whole family left satisfied. My brother in law is dairy free and was able to have the fried chicken which was unexpected. Our server was very nice and we never were waiting for more food refills. We felt like it was reasonably priced and it was easy to make a reservation the week of.
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
Family style restaurant that's been around for a long time. We've been a few times over the years, and the food has been consistently good. Most important, make a reservation, or you could wait for a long time. There is not a menu that I know of, just soup, chicken, potatoes, etc. All served family style with no limits. I would enjoy more solid beans in the soup, but it does have good flavor, but the star is the fried chicken!! It's so good that I still go periodically despite the no alcohol policy.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Just plain ole fried chicken that people rave about being the best ever because they've been going there for years and don't know any better. Bread was good, corn and green beans suit the geriatric crowd (soft, mushy no flavor and definitely no salt). Bean soup, again think geriatric crowd because there wasn't one whole bean in there. Wouldn't eat here again. Best for folks that like to over eat.
google avatar

Brandi G.

Yelp
Great service and food. Was very pleased with large, continuous portions. Chicken is delicious and dessert was huge enough to split. We are from out of town but would love to return here on our next trip.

Richard W.

Yelp
Went there with a party of 16 on 2/25/24. When arrived table was not even ready and had to wait a few minutes. They had the reservation and could not be ready. Bean soup was watery. I didn't see one bean. Chicken was very dry and needed salt. Bread was very soft but the knife to cut it was very dull. Utensils are probably very old and could be replaced. It used to be better a few years ago. Chicken used to be very tender and juicy. Bean soup had a lot of beans in it that you could actually see when you ate it. This place has really gone downhill. My tab was $301.00 for 16 people plus left a $50.00 tip. Servers were great and attentive. This place needs some new cooks.
google avatar

Kristi S.

Yelp
This is a family style restaurant and you don't get to pick what you're eating. It is a preset menu consisting of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, coleslaw and bread. For me, everything needed salt but then I tend to like quite a bit of salt I guess. I would definitely recommend getting the peach cobbler if you have room when you're finished!
google avatar

Geoff B.

Yelp
Great chicken and for the price you cannot beat what it all comes with..family style and southern charm..heard a couple came from Joplin and another from Russellville..the country gravy was fantastic over the mashed potatoes..bread was warm and fresh with whipped butter along with apple butter..my only mention are the veggies are bland and hade very little flavor whatsoever..hard to beat the price as well..place would be a killer if they put some flavor onto those green beans and corn!
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Guess if you like to overeat a 'whole lot of nothin' this is the place for you. Went alone, hadn't even sat down when bowls of tasteless food was dumped on the table. Corn and beans are obviously from the can and soaked in the canned water. Cold mashed potatoes and gravy, and what was the watery dish liquid stuff - supposedly 'bean soup' The chicken and bread was good. Being by myself and not a glutenous person which this place is mostly for, I couldn't eat all three pieces of chicken or scoff down the tasteless side dishes so thought I'd take the left overs' THAT I HAD PAID FOR home and season them for another meal. Was told I couldn't, that anything left was tossed out which is understandable.

Terry B.

Yelp
Good home cooking. Takes me back to Sunday dinners with Mom. Bean soup is always a great starter.
google avatar

Don L.

Yelp
Great food and friendly atmosphere and service was in for a birthday celebration young and seniors all were happy

Eric W.

Yelp
Awesome place to check out! Service was great, food was superb, and a very quaint restaurant to look around at. As a couple of construction workers being away from home, this home cooking really hits the spot. We plan on frequently returning while in the area.
google avatar

Shawn G.

Yelp
Great food and staff. Can't go wrong for this home cooking! Chicken season is spot on and if you can make it to desert the fudge cake is amazing.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
This place used to be good but every time I go and it's gotten worse and worse. The food is some how always burnt? I'm not sure why but it's just burnt tasting/smelling. The servers are a huge hit or miss sometimes we have a very nice server, other times it's like the server is so miserable to be there it makes me not even want to ever come back. I think the worst part is the male owner. He's legit so grumpy and I'm just so confused why he would sit in the front of the restaurant and just glare at people. I probably won't ever come back
google avatar

Lindsay L.

Yelp
Great service and boy that fried chicken can't be beat. The mashed potatoes were delicious. People keep commenting on the bean soup not having beans but it still tastes delicious and comes in a cute crock. My son wouldn't try it because of how it looked so I had him just taste a tiny spoonful. He ended up eating 2 bowls of it lol the fresh bread and apple butter is perfect. Just a nice homey, family style place. We will be back!
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
This small family style restaurant is everything you are looking for in a chicken dinner. in my opinion, it is the best chicken around. Everything is served in big bowls to share. My husband loves the bean soup. It is a great place for a couple or large group. Be sure to make reservations because it fills fast and you will wait. My only complaint is the bathroom always has a line.
google avatar

Branion B.

Yelp
Great great old fashioned chicken dinner. Fantastic. Food just keeps coming, and coming.
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
Pure joy and lip smacking, finger licking love. That's the only way I can think of to describe Monte Ne chicken and how they make me feel. I'm not sure if my peers recall the Winnie the Pooh happiness sway - the excitement Pooh feels every time he eats. But that is exactly how monte ne chicken makes me feel. Family style fried chicken dinner (white meat only please) that starts with a pot of bean soup (that no one can resist) and continues to flow with a delicious meal - chicken, potatoes, corn, coleslaw, bread and applesauce and green beans. Yes, it's true! You CAN have it all. I cannot wait for you to swing your doors open wide - please reopen soon! I'm having fried chicken dreams...and withdrawals.
google avatar

Cindi F.

Yelp
If you love fried chicken and a no frills menu. . . This is a must stop! Unlimited sides upon request. Don't ask for a menu, just decide if you want light or dark meat chicken and be prepared to waddle out with a full tummy. Delicious! I wish we had one in California! If we are ever in the area we will be at there again.

Chris B.

Yelp
Great place for after church on Sundays. Good country food. The service is fast and friendly. A bit of a hole in the wall but in a good way. The food isn't fantastic but every item is good across the board. Give it a try. I think most will appreciate the meal and value.

Yelp
Winner winner chicken dinner!!! Oh my gosh this little gem is well worth your trip off the beaten path! I would recommend reservations if you are able. I popped in solo was seated quickly. Waitress came and asked me what I'd like to drink then came the magic. First came my drink order and a bean pot with ladle. It contained my first ever bean soup. This was a thin liquid soup from I'm guessing navy beans? Either way no solids left and it was amazing. About 3/4 of the way through this bean soup came the spread.... Loaf of fresh bread, apple butter, real butter, green beans, corn nibblets, mashed potatoes, white gravy, Cole slaw, and the star of the show a bowl of fried chicken! So door to feast was about 8 mins if that. Everything was delicious personally my favs were the cole slaw and chicken. The wait staff are all rock stars too. Anytime it looked like a bowl was getting close to being empty there was someone offering to fill it up. I admit I did call for more chicken a few times. They offered dessert at the end but I knew the drive back to the hotel was already going to be tortuous. I was over stuffed but it was worth it. Tips: dont eat lunch the day of your dinner, look up hours they are limited, get reservations, and pace yourself LOL

Yelp
I love Monte Ne Chicken & I don't consider myself a regular or a "local". The atmosphere has a down-home feel with lots of antique-looking tools & photos on the walls. I would highly suggest making reservations as the restaurant is packed. We were seated promptly & our server was friendly & efficient. We placed our drink orders then were brought a tureen of their famous bean soup- great flavor. You don't receive a menu- everyone receives the same dinner which is served family style. The fried chicken was moist & delicious. KFC who? Also, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes w/white gravy, bread w/delicious apple butter, & some of the best coleslaw I've ever eaten. It's all you can eat: we asked for more coleslaw, green beans & of course, chicken! I ate here for the first time about 3 years ago & nothing has changed. Still consistent & great. Dave, the owner is so nice & is hands on- from working the counter, taking time to talk, & when we left, he was in the kitchen cooking. You pay at the counter. Only regret is we had no room for the peach cobbler!
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
First time to visit. Highly recommend getting a reservation. Staff is super friendly. Meals are served family style. Fried chicken was good but nothing great. Green beans mixed with bacon / ham and was good. Coleslaw is homemade and was very good. Be sure and try the apple butter. The bean soup they served threw me off as the beans they were pureed and it looked like gravy. Tasted good once we figured it out.

Yelp
What a fun family style restaurant. Great service and good food. Our favorite was the bean soup!

Tom K.

Yelp
Best chicken and dining experience you will have. everyone and everythung was great. Dessert was peach cobbler topped with ice cream amazing. Thank you guys for a great evening with friends and family. Tom King

Yelp
Had heard about this restraint since moving to Arkansas several years ago. Was sorely disappointed after finally eating here. The bean soup should be called "beanless" soup, as there were no beans to be found. Nor was it seasoned with salt or pepper. Their fried chicken was not cooked through and the crusting was hard as if it had been rolled in flour and allowed to sit to long do that the juice from the chicken z as no flour had formed a plaster V like substance that sat up while frying. The corn snd green bean sides were simply removed from the bag they had been frozen in and warmed, not hot or cold, salted or peppered or buttered. However, at their serving temp I doubt butter would have melted on them. The whipped potatoes were whipped and whipped again till they were perfect for any nursing home. Also void of any flavor and bland. In hopes of redemption I ordered cobbler with ice cream for dessert. The cobbler was warm on the outside but still crystallized frozen in the middle. I noticed that most of the customers were elderly and ready for nursing home food. However, I am not. I can only assume that people who like this restaurant did not have a mother or grandmother who knew how to fry chicken properly.
