Unforgettable experience at Monte Solaro! You reach the summit by a single-seat chairlift from Anacapri — the ride takes about 13 minutes each way, but it’s best to book in advance since lines can be long. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, a 360-degree panorama of the sea, Naples, and the island — truly one of the most beautiful sights imaginable. There’s a restaurant at the summit with amazing views, though quite expensive (we paid €7 for a cappuccino). Even the toilets cost €1 to enter, but honestly, the view alone makes it all worth it. A must-do experience on Capri!

Monte Solaro is beyond words. The moment you reach the top, everything just stops — the views are so breathtaking it feels unreal. The endless blue of the sea, the cliffs, the islands, the sky… it’s like standing in heaven. I honestly forgot to breathe for a moment. The journey up is part of the magic, but the reward at the top is something you’ll carry with you forever. It’s peaceful, powerful, and deeply emotional. One of those rare places that stays in your heart long after you leave.

Google
Monte Solaro offers breathtaking panoramic views—you can see the entire island of Capri and beyond. Access is very easy via the chairlift, which is a lovely experience in itself, providing stunning views throughout the ride. Visiting Monte Solaro is highly recommended — a must-see spot for any Capri visitor.

Google
I love the view. Very safe chairlift. It cost 14 euros per person. It takes 14 min to go up and 14 min to go down. U can take ur time at the top to enjoy the view and take pictures. U can try the restaurant overe there as well. By little bit expensive but logical. U can also have a walk down if you dlnt want to take the chair lift for the return. Enjoy your stay in capri

Google
Nice chair lift to the highest point of Anacapri. 20 minutes wait line and on the top we sat for some cold drinks. Lovely views. There's not much to do, but it's worth the 14 euros PP for the ride.

Google
The view from the top is amazing. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the place is in bad conditions and not very clean. For the money they charge for the lift it could be a better experience.

Google
It’s a very nice view. There’s not much to do in Capri and this is one of the things. There’s a little cafe at the top too.

Yelp
We went here on our trip to Capri - this is in Anacapri but it was certainly a big highlight in our Europe trip. Gorgeous views from the top with a cafe at the top. We got paninis and cappuccino and it was perfect - quick service which is great when you don't have a ton of time to spend an hour in a restaurant. They had beer and spritzes too but it was too chilly for that. Remember to get a token for the bathroom! Chairlift takes about 13 minutes to get to the top - it doesn't stop (like a ski chair lift) - the workers help you get on and off though. So worth the 14€ round trip.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing views from up here. Don't go up on the chairlift too early or if there are visible clouds up there, because you won't be able to enjoy the views as much (though it's still worth it). This is a must when you're in Anacapri. A round trip is only €14. The ride each way is 13 minutes. The cafe on top of Monte Solaris is great for drinks, but I've heard the food is not great, so I didn't order any food.

Yelp
You absolutely must take the chairlift up to the top of the mountain. The views are some of the best in the world. Cute little bar to have a drink before you head back down. Tell James we sent you!

Yelp
For me, it was all cloud but still managed to see the panoramic view of Capri. Locals often refer to Monte Solaro as the "cloud catcher" after the thick blanket of fog which forms around the summit, especially at dawn. Wanna experience Capri's most beautiful panorama? Well, you need to come here. Monte Solaro is the highest point on Capri. it is 589 meters above sea level and the highest and most panoramic point on the island. The easiest way to get to Monte Solaro is by chairlift. I have explained it in my chairlift review. in short, take the bus from Capri to Anacapri, take 12 euro up down ticket to the chairlift and within 12-13 minutes, you will reach Monte Solaro. Once you reach the peak, you can relax with a drink on the rocking chairs at the La Canzone del Cielo café or simply stroll along the scenic overlook and snap pictures. Looking around in a 360º panorama you can see the whitewashed houses which cover the hillsides of Capri Town, the three rock stacks called the Faraglioni lying off the coast ( you will see this on the internet photos) and the Bay of Naples and the islands of Ischia and Procida. There is also a ruined 18th-century fort, the Fortino di Bruto.

Yelp
Incredible views. There is a little bar upstairs where you can grab a little snack and a spritz. There are also chairs where you can enjoy your snack along with the views. Highly recommend the trip. The chair lift takes 13 minutes and I highly recommend this to get up to the top of the mountain.

Yelp
We did a day trip to Capri and we had limited time to do things. We decided to do Monte Solaro over the Blue Grotto and I think we made the right decision. We had to wait on the ticket line which did take a while (I can only imagine it during busy season) but then everything moved quickly. The ride takes about 12 minutes up and down. Once you are up there, the views are amazing!

Yelp
For a handful of euros, you can hop a precarious chair lift and ride it up to Mount Solaro, taking in the most breathtaking view Italy has to offer. That is a general assumption--I-I mean I have not seen every angle of Italy. That would be...well, impossible. I'm sure someone can make a comparison between the number of views one could have in Italy with the Coastline Paradox--something involving fractals I guess. So I guess I can't say the view from Mount Solaro is the best; what I should say is that the view from Mount Solaro is...CLEARLY the best, I mean how can anyone argue with that? It helps that the day I was there, the clouds were perfectly fluffy with the proper ratio of blue sky. The sun was bright; the grass was green. It was quiet, serene. I never wanted my girlfriend at my side more than being atop of Solaro. There was a restaurant up there, but I totally forgot about it (also, thanks to the tour schedule, I didn't have time). It's the best investment one could have in Capri. The ride up is pleasant and without danger. Some folks (Mom) might be terrified about the idea of dangling from a chair with only a single rod to prevent you from falling off, but I had no issue whatsoever. You can see every corner of the island, from harbor to harbor. It's not much of a mountain at 565 meters, so if you want to walk up and avoid the lift, you can. There are stairs--seriously. If I had the time, I totally would've tackled that challenge. I climbed the steps of St Paul's Cathedral, I could handle Solaro. If you do anything in Capri, this is it. Do not, repeating for emphasis, do not visit Capri and not take in the chairlift to Solaro.

Yelp
Getting here is half the fun: individual chair lifts that transport you, and they also provide you with peace and quiet and allow you to think about where you are and how lucky you are to be in such a magical place. When you get to the top, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the most amazing views you'll see from the island.
