Montecito is a really great spot to eat - one of my favourites in the city. It has a great, relaxed, but upscale vibe to it. I can see this as a great romantic spot to bring a date if you sit in the dining room, but also a great lounge that oversees the street. The food is exquisite. I really enjoyed the creativity and the burst of flavors that came from each dish. We tried quite a few but my favourite hands down was the risotto. Not overly heavy, but full of flavor and that creaminess you expect from a risotto. I had a chocolate allergy and they were even able to accommodate that with something off menu! Truly a place that cares about the experience of their guests. Highly recommended!

We dined here for a work dinner on a Wednesday night. We got seated next to the kitchen so it was quite loud to keep up with the conversation. Service was great. Food was ok, my main course came out lukewarm but it looked like everyone else enjoyed their food. I was surprised at the small Canadian wine selection, although the wines we had were delicious.

Stumbled into this place on a Saturday evening for dinner and was happily surprised with how upscale the experience turned out to be. Accommodating and friendly service - waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu which is chef-driven and fresh. Best dishes were the KALE SALAD and a raw tuna special app. Kale salad was a mountain and could probably satisfy 3 people. The main dish I got was shrimp & steak which was a tad underwhelming flavor-wise. Pricey but worth it for the fancy setting & service. Disappointing main course but I'd go back and try it again for a special occasion.

Had a good Christmas party with my coworkers there. Delicious appetizers and charcuterie board. However I was underwhelmed by the lamb pasta entree. The pumpkin pie was a good dessert and the service was awesome!

Great service, even printed our friends name on the menu! Very nice touch. Nice food not overly priced for lunch! Wednesday is summer had a 1/2 price any wine option! :)

From the staff to the food, from the venue to the wine… everything was on point! We were recommended The Montecito on a scouting visit for an event we were going to hold in Toronto. The concierge at the hotel said they were upscale, had good food and located nearby, which checked off all must have items on our list. Upon arriving for lunch, we inquired about the event space. Lesley the lead event person came down and introduced herself and then took the time to show us the spaces on the spot, since we were only there for a day. We fell in love with the amazing pillars in their space and the different feels to the different areas. We also loved the memorabilia around the restaurant in honor of the owner’s many movies directed and produced. Moving forward Lesley was amazing to work with and so helpful in thinking through layout and menus. We decided to go with the Market Tasting Menu and wine pairing for the attendees and the staff would order of the menu. The food was OUTSTANDING!! We had rave reviews on the food from the attendees and I ordered the strip loin off the menu. It was tender and perfect (even after sitting for about 10 mins because I had to step out to make a call.) To be honest, my favorite part was the seasoning on the green beans that came with it. They had this salty umami flavor that was reminiscent of ramen noodles from when I was a child. It was almost a “Ratatouille” moment that brought me back to my youth and I LOVED IT! Also I wish I could take pounds of their burrata home with me… so so good. We work with a lot of staffing in a lot of locations based on the events that we plan, and I had members of my staff state that these were the best they have worked with. The servers, bartenders, and sommeliers were knowledgeable, friendly, and upbeat. They kept our staff informed as to progress on the dinner and mood of the room, which is always so helpful when you are running an event but not in the same room. The week of, we had Katherine (co-event staff) as our go to and she went above and beyond to accommodate our ever changing needs/requests/etc. She did it with a smile and made it happen quickly, which is so important. I would and do, recommend this restaurant and staff to anyone who is looking for something hip, delicious, and fun while being on the upscale side in Toronto!

I came here for my fiancé's birthday and we were nothing less than impressed! The place was cozy and more spacious than what it appears to be on the outside. We got the bread and butter to start and it was slightly salted and very yummy. We then ordered the gnocchi and pork chop and these dishes were phenomenal! The gnocchi just melted in your mouth and the pork chop was tender with a delicious BBQ sauce on top. We ended the meal with the sticky toffee pudding and it was the perfect size to perfectly appease our appetites. The servers were kind and friendly and while there was a little bit of a wait for service, it was worth it! We will definitely be going back!

Thoroughly disappointed with the whole experience. We came here with another couple and their sentiments are the same. Our waiter did not listen to us, he was rude and spoke down to us as if we didn't know what we are doing. Little did he know, all four of us came from the industry. The duck was dry, the beef tartar lacked in flavour, and the dessert was quite boring. The only saving graces were the mushrooms, the scallops and the pork chop. All in all, we probably will not be coming back here, but if you are, good luck!
