I was visiting Krakow for the first time and decided to try Moo Moo after seeing it recommended on TikTok. I went with four friends for my birthday and was genuinely excited, but the whole experience ended up being extremely disappointing.
We ordered the Moo Moo set and asked for our steaks cooked medium. What we received was nowhere close — my steak was rare and very fatty, and everyone else at the table also got theirs cooked incorrectly. My wife’s herb butter was basically frozen. The staff offered to remake two of the steaks, which we agreed to, but things didn’t improve much.
They cleared the plates and brought out the remade steaks without any cutlery, and after waiting a minute or two for someone to return, we ended up grabbing clean cutlery from another table ourselves. Of the two remade steaks, one was slightly better but still nothing special, and the other was again fatty and still rare. Overall, the food quality just wasn’t good.
When we finished eating, we had to go looking for someone just to ask for the bill. The person at the till — who we assume is the manager — was vaping behind the bar, in the same area where food and drinks are served. Considering they have signs on the door telling customers to go outside to smoke or vape, staff should absolutely be expected to follow the same rule. It felt unprofessional and honestly set the tone for everything that followed. When we asked for the bill, she didn’t greet us or speak properly — just gave a dismissive “mhmm.”
When the bill arrived, they had removed the cost of one steak and that was all. We told our waitress — who genuinely seemed lovely — that we felt bad complaining because it wasn’t directed at her personally. She went to check if the service charge could be removed. Instead of her returning, the manager came over and twisted what we said, claiming we had told the waitress we were “happy with the service,” which was absolutely not true. We were simply trying to be polite to the waitress; that didn’t mean the service was good.
Despite everything, the manager insisted we had to pay the service charge because it’s their policy for groups of four or more, regardless of the experience.
We made it clear we didn’t want to pay the service charge as we believe despite their “policy” service charges are optional if we’re not happy with the service or quality of the overall experience.
However despite the managers appalling attitude and reluctance to back down about the service charge, at that point we couldn’t be bothered arguing, so we paid and left. But we won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend Moo Moo to anyone visiting Krakow. It’s absolutely not worth the hype.
