Pork BBQ

Things I want to eat in LA
Moobongri BBQ(무봉리 생삼겹 BBQ)

Sasha M

Google
One of my favorite k-bbq place. The side dishes and food are so delicious. It's good to eat when the group comes, and the meat is served once in advance before it is served. So if you cook the meat a little more and eat it, you can eat it quickly. Iced Kimchi noodles are so good.

Google
The BEST quality pork belly bbq place in town. They specialize their pork meats like belly, jowl, and neck, but also their intestines as well as beef choices are pretty awesome. Most of their meat selections come out precooked or pre grilled so that the meats can be done faster on your grill with that perfect crispy outside and even juicier inside condition. Not many sides, but their soy sauced garlic leaves which you can’t find somewhere else go so well with any meat choice they have. The fried rice at the end is the top notch👌.

Google
At this local Korean BBQ spot, the quality of meat speaks volumes. Their pork belly achieves the perfect crisp-tender balance, while the beef's rich marbling makes every bite melt in your mouth. Paired with an array of fresh, flavorful banchan (side dishes) and excellent customer service that kept our grills clean and sides replenished, this place offers a standout BBQ experience that satisfies all your Korean food cravings.

Google
They grilled pre-cooked pork belly and Kimchi together which was really delicious and good pair. They served sunji soup for free. don’t forget the Korean desert: fried rice 😄 Enough parking space for the mall which was very convenient.

Google
The pork belly is my favorite 😍 Staff is friendly. I love their side dishes as well. Great portion 👍 Parking is free but a bit tough to find the spot.

Edward K.

Google
Great service; they cook the meat for you and check in with you pretty often if you need anything. Pork belly is a must get as well as their pork jowl. Meat quality is superior to many other kbbq places around ktown. The side dishes were great as well as the finishing fried rice. Overall, very solid place to grab kbbq with friends or family. FYI there is valet parking for $4, and seating may be limited since it’s a small restaurant. Make sure to call in and check how long the wait is before coming :)

I was influenced by IG and finally decided to try it on a Thursday night because I read that the weekends could get crowded and parking could be tough. We arrived at 6:30, and the restaurant was about 1/3 full, but it filled up pretty quickly. It was busy by the time we finished. The menu was pretty small, and we already knew what we wanted, so we placed our order as soon as we sat down: pork belly, pork jowl, and kimchi fried rice. They brought out a small veggie pancake, some spicy soup, along with dipping sauce, garnish, and salad for the bbq. The food arrived quite quickly, and the staff cooked it for us. Both the pork belly and jowl were so flavorful, and I loved the chewy, slightly crispy texture. There were also some pickled leaves served (sorry, I don't know the name), and the staff recommended wrapping the meat in them. WOWWW! It totally changed the flavor profile of the meat. The sour and sweet flavors cut through the fat of the meat and added freshness to every decadent bite! It's a must-try! We were pretty full after the bbq, but since we saw everyone recommending the fried rice, we decided to try it as well. Unfortunately, it was soggy and average in my opinion. I prefer my fried rice to be dry and slightly crispy. The staffs were very helpful and attentive. Overall, we had a great experience and we're glad we came!! We would definitely come back for the pork!!

Google
Perfect lowkey spot. You spend at least 50$ here for the grill and it’s worth it each and every single time 💕💕💕💕the service here is amazing it’s like a cozy environment. No reservations needed!

Yelp
Now THIS is the place I will come back to. Service was good, food was good, everything about it was classic, korean, and GOOD kbbq. No complaints what so ever, and if I ever crave kbbq, I will be back. Now, I can only speak for the pork belly and pork collar, but both of those should be an order you try here! They have valet parking at night, I think it was like $4 or something.
google avatar

Jodi Y.

Yelp
The pork here is very quality! They also help cook and cut the meat. Lack of side dishes, they only give kimchi and leaf wraps. My favorite is the kimchi fried rice that you can ask for at the end. If you leave it on the grill for long enough, there's a nice rice crust. Good ventilation and located around other popular ktown places.

Yelp
Pork overload! Oh my gosh, I love Moobongri! What took me so long to come here!? My friend and I had the Pork Belly and Pork Collar, loved both but I'm partial to the belly. Pork belly is what they're known for here and they do it real good. Prices are completely reasonable, everything a la carte and our cuts were $35 each. They cook for you and I love how they have a little metal tray for the cooked meat preventing burning. The meal comes with some banchans, soup and PAJEON! Let me take a minute to discuss this pajeon. It's not what people come here for but they sure should. Food was enhanced in my dining experience last night, but I swear to you - they have the BEST pajeon here. Oh Em Gee. So crisp on the outside, soft on the inside with the legit best flavor. I'm never a big fan of this parking lot because this little shopping strip has so many amazing places sharing such a small lot. It's always such a clusterF. But they do have valet for $4 so that helps.

Yelp
Hands down the best pork belly spot in K-Town. Nothing can beat Moobongri! The complimentary sunji (blood) soup is a hangover cure... even without a hangover! They offer to remove the sunji and also refills so don't miss out! Kimchi, mushrooms and onions drenched in pork belly juice :) you know if you know! Always wrap up with k-dessert (the fried rice) and a cold kimchi noodles to cleanse your palate
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
The meat quality is good. No combo so you just order a La carte. We got the pork belly and brisket for 2 people with the fried rice. Everything was really good. The soup is included along with the banchans. FYI the soup is SO GOOD. We thought the price was decent for 2. Came on a Thursday but it was very busy. We only waited like 5min but we could tell larger groups had to wait much longer - especially later in the evening. They cook the meat for you but as it gets busier, they do forget you so you have to make sure your meat isn't burning. Parking is valet.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
Solid soups and gukbap with traditional soondae! The meat just falls off the bone, and the yukgaejang is perfectly spicy. Side dishes were also plentiful and delicious-- service is good too. Hole in the wall place with amazing food in a plaza with limited parking. Pro tip: Head to TPO (formerly Mr. Coffee) for great dessert afterward!

Yelp
After seeing this place on TikTok, I finally had the opportunity to try it out. It's a pork belly specialty restaurant, and I must say, the experience was fantastic. The pork belly served here is exceptionally thick and incredibly delicious. Every bite was a savory delight that exceeded my expectations. If you're a fan of pork belly or looking for a memorable dining experience, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. At first I thought the staff will help me to cook all the way til the end, but it seems like they only help at the beginning and you have to do the rest yourself. Parking is vallet ($3) in the plaza like typical other restaurants in ktown.

Yelp
Ordered kalbitang for delivery from here. Everything was packaged and neatly, impressive. The broth is soo good, meat is tender. Banchan amount is good. Will definitely come again to eat in and try more dishes.

Yelp
The employees are so nice here. Food is good but nothing outstanding - this was really hyped up to us by a friend but it wasn't anything crazy. My friend loves pork so she was really excited for this place but it was a little underwhelming. They would come by to help cook the meat but eventually they forgot about us so our meat got burnt... Oil was also splattering onto me more than half the time which really hurt. We turned down the flame a bit but when the employees would come by they'd turn it back up so I got hit with oil a lot. That part was very unpleasant - maybe they need bigger tables or to move the grill away from customers more... I really liked the pickled leaves on the table (not sure what they're called- it was my first time seeing them at KBBQ. Ramps possibly?) They were perfect for wrapping the meat and made it taste way better. We asked for extra because it was much better eating the meat with those. Paid about $94 for two orders of meat and a drink. Pretty expensive dinner but they do give you a lot of meat. Parking is $3 for valet which isn't bad. Not sure I'd go out of my way for this place again - getting hit by oil every time I tried to simply eat from my plate (not even grabbing anything from the grill) was so scary LOL

Yelp
Food was good, price was fairly expensive but I got nothing to complain. Service was good as well We were so full. They had my favorite daechang as well
google avatar

Yelp
It is soooo hard to find Samgyeopsal in ktown the way it's typically served in Korea. But this place feels so authentic and it's the only place I recommend my friends to go eat kbbq. I especially loved the pajeon that was served in the beginning and that seaweed was a side dish (again super hard to find in ktown). This place is delicious!

Yelp
Food, Service, atmosphere - everything was amazing!! We ordered pork belly, pork jowl, brisket, soup that has pork blood (never tried before but it was delicious and the soup had umami flavor!) , and kimchi fried rice! Marinated garlic leaves to wrap meat was something new to me and absolutely delicious! We came here at 5pm on Sunday with 4 people, and it was relatively empty around that time, but after 6pm it was full. Limited parking space. Valet parking is 4 dollar. Will come back for sure!
google avatar

Robin K.

Yelp
This is my second time eating from here and always to-go'd. This time, they didn't pack my order correctly and I had to come back after arriving home which was annoying. Their soondae is decent, probably better when eaten at the restaurant, but their kimchi fried rice was like really bad. Like, truthfully, it tasted like a rag that I was curious if the ladle or bowl was clean. Other than that, kimchi is solid haha. Still should give it one more try
google avatar

Dorothy R.

Yelp
The pork belly was thick and great quality, which is exactly how I like it! The parking can be a bit difficult but there's valet. The servers were attentive and this is def top on the list for pork belly in ktown!
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
Saw this spot on tiktok and it definitely lives up to the hype! Their pork belly and pork jowl was one of the best I have had. Highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a pork KBBQ spot! Prices for the portion is average I would say. With a party of 2, we ordered pork belly and pork jowl which was the perfect portion. When you order, it also comes with a pancake and hangover soup which is refillable! So don't be shy like the employees would say and ask for more if you like it! They cook the meat for you and everything is cooked to perfection. There's valet parking for $3 which is nice because you don't have to drive around the area to find parking. Came on a Thursday night and it wasn't packed at all. Staffs are friendly too and very attentive!!
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
Looking at their name, I have never thought about trying KBBQ at this place. Always thought this place is for soondae which I really don't eat. Rumors on the street say that this place has the best pork belly so decided to give it a go. Honestly pork belly was 9/10. It wasn't the best I have ever tried. It was slightly chewier than I expected but maybe it was one of the bad days so I will give it a try one more time. On the other hand, pork jowl was to die for! 10/10 would come back just for these. Service was good. Free crispy jeon and sunjigook. And make sure to order the cold kimchi noodle with the meat, it goes so well together and refreshing!
google avatar

Steven C.

Yelp
One of the best places to get pork kbbq in LA. Prices were fair for the portion. It wasn't hard to get a table at 7:45 pm on a Friday night. The plaza where this restaurant is located is crazy busy though so mentally prepare yourself. We ordered the pork belly and pork jowl, which were both so freaking good. They do cook the meat for you, which is always nice. At the end, it's essential to order the kimchi fried rice. It'll fill your other stomach if you are already full. At least that's how it works for me. If you order soju and are lucky, they bring it out semi iced so it's basically a soju slushee. WORLD CHANGING. It's dangerous.. but I don't care. Parking in the plaza is valet. I warned you how busy it can get at the start.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
The BEST wagyu beef brisket i've had in ktown! Soooo so good and pairs perfectly with the cold noodles. It is a bit pricey but very well worth it. Parking is usually valet and some street parking available nearby. So glad i tried this place!
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
The service is outstanding--fast and friendly. The ambiance is clean, with the typical feel of a Korean restaurant. As for the food, it's hands down the best pork belly I've ever tasted!
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Great meat quality, the brisket is some of the best I've had. I would've been happy just wating rhe beef, but Moobongri's specialty is their pork, and their pork belly definitely sets it apart. They give very meaty slices of pork belly, which gives it much more of its natural flavors. Bancham was nothing to write home about, but the kimchi fried rice at the end was delicious. I was super stuffed, but still found room to eat the fried rice because of how tasty it was. We even got a couple of boxes of it to take home, and it was still delicious.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Why did they close? This is the best place in LA. Were the owners affected by the fire? Weird timing.
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
We found this place because one person in our party had been here and said the food and service were fantastic; well they are consistent--the service and food absolutely lived up to the hype! You pick the meats you want from a list of like 10 or so (not AYCE-style; you pay per meat), but this includes a bunch of sides, stew, etc. Everything we had was delicious (especially the myeongi namul- holy moly that was delicious, I'd never had that before but I'll be looking for that in the future). But the staff was truly what's worth writing home about. They were so kind, thoughtful, and fun, and made our time so enjoyable! They were so attentive in making sure our plates and glasses (ahem) were always full. Speaking of glasses, be sure to get some soju while you're there, it really added to the whole experience. We will certainly be back! Everyone who worked there that we met are amazing people, especially Dustin and Dongbeu- thank you so much!!! Please go see for yourself!
google avatar

Zena K.

Yelp
My go-to place for hearty soup :) My husband loves their radish kimchi (he literally told me he could eat the whole box of them lol). I tried all soups and my favorite is just plain pork soup. It goes well with kimchi :) Soondae was okay for me, but their spicy soondae soup was great (spicier than spicy pork soup).
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
Surprisingly very short wait (5min) when we came on a weekday for dinner! I hear it can be somewhat long though so plan accordingly Came here to try their famous thick cut samgyup/pork belly. My friends really love this place and say it's the best in ktown for thick samgyup! I realized I don't personally like thick cuts but the meat itself was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They cook it for you so that's a plus! Parking: we found street parking, metered but free after a certain time
google avatar

Peter W.

Yelp
The Soup taste is good and thick. Kimchi and Kaktugi (Radish kimchi) taste also balanced. The waitresses are very kind. BUT their receipt printed the suggested tip was calculated based on including the tax total amount. So even though I gave them 18% of the food amount, but same amount was printed as 15% on the receipt. I'm allergic to this method of tip calculation.
google avatar

Darian G.

Yelp
Underwhelmed is the word to describe this. Yea its pretty good, but anything kbbq is pretty good. Heard this place has the best pork in town. This made me intrigued. Specifically cuz the cuts of pork is thick. Nothing special was done to it tho, felt like it was just reg thick juicy pork Also got the intestine n yea same old same old. Nothing special. Pork was nice. Premium thick pork cut. Doesn't look like your average pork belly Interesting style to eat tho. No side dish except for salad n soup. So you eat meat the whole time n at the end you have the option to get fried rice. Pretty expensive. Good experience tho.
google avatar

Grace C.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this spot and I finally got to cross it off my list!! It's a popular kbbq spot in koreatown that specializes in pork! I personally LOVE pork so I was excited to try it out! My group of four got the pork belly and pork jowl with the fried rice at the end. We also ordered the cold kimchi noodles which was the only disappointment of the night. Sadly it had no flavor to the broth and felt like it was missing something. BUT everything else was SO good!! The pork belly and jowl was sooooo delicious & juicy. I LOVE how they fry the kimchi on the pan and the juices from the pork cooks into the kimchi and fries it together. UGH ITS SO GOOD!!!!! My only complaint is that the portions are small and pretty pricey but lately that seems to be the problem everywhere with rising cost. Overall loved the food and I would come back :)
google avatar

Sophia K.

Yelp
In the past, I always had to wait to eat there, but this time it was a little quiet, and the service from the staff was a little different. In the past, even if they were busy, they grilled all the meat for us, but this time we grilled half of it ourselves, and they didn't have kimchi roll noodles, which was a little disappointing. Still, it's a place I often visit when I think of samgyeopsal.
google avatar

Chloe K.

Yelp
food, vibes, and service is absolutely amazing here!! i love the korean ladies when they're so kind and 친절해, it makes me want to come here more and that's definitely their plus. the meat was good too, it was such a good place to have a drink of soju w ur friends and overall i liked it a lot, one of the best kbbq spots in ktown, def not the most expensive too so it's not the worst price wise.
google avatar

Emily N.

Yelp
Parking: Parking is terrible in this area, but you can find street parking. Service: They cook everything for you here! I like my meat on the rarer side though so personally I would rather cook it myself. I love that there's a set menu here. Coming from San Diego, all our korean bbqs are ayce, and I went with friends who can't eat a lot as well. This was the perfect amount for us. The meat was a lot higher quality and I enjoyed all the sides they gave us!
google avatar

Jasmine C.

Yelp
Good quality pork belly in ktown! Their pork belly is thick and juicy. Their kimchi is really good too! I love how their side dishes are unlimited especially ramps which many BBQ places charge for refills.
google avatar

Katrina Rosario J.

Yelp
Come for the pork!! Less greasy and pretty juicy pork that's worth the price and serving is good for 2-3 people. The servers are really friendly. Come on a weekday night to avoid crowds.
google avatar

Diane K.

Yelp
Great food. The pork was very tender and great quality. We tried the jowl, belly, and the shoulder? All paired beautifully with soju. The wait time is pretty long so get there early. Parking is a nightmare so Uber if you can. We walked over to Frank and Hanks for drinks. Love ktown.
google avatar

Brenda Jiwon L.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best pork belly places in the LA area! The quality of the meat is superb, and the serving per order is also pretty good. With 3 orders of meat for 3 people, it was more than plenty. I highly recommend the pork belly and the pork shoulder. They unfortunately don't provide a lot of side dishes, but they do have some veggies which is fresh. I also love how they give a side of the spicy blood soup, which goes really well with the meat. Service is also great-- and I also love that the interior is really big and spacious. I will definitely visit this place again if I'm in the area and I am craving for some really good pork belly.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
I would love them even more if they were open for lunch! Love their pork selection! A little disappointing with the limited seating because the waiting can be super long since people do like to eat and drink here! Love the vibe of mimicking the Korean street bbq vibe!
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Their soondae isn't that good but the pork is decent. Better quality than most but it's more expensive than the average. Customer service and sides can be better. Would try again if there's no line.

Ro T.

Yelp
FYI. FOR 2 PEOPLE: YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO PAY $35 / PERSON. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CHOOSE TO GET AN ORDER OF PORK BELLY AND FRIED RICE, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO CHOOSE A SPECIFIC MEAT IN THE $30+ RANGE FOR EACH PERSON. HONESTLY, A RIP OFF AS THIS IS THE PRICE OF AYCE. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE THICKNESS OF THE PORK BELLY, WHICH PEOPLE WOULD SAY MAKES THE "QUALITY" OF THE PORK BELLY. SURE. By law, if the restaurant requires a minimum charge for each party, this should be stated in the menu or have signage posted somewhere in the restaurant. This is a personal experience, I do understand that people usually order that amount. However, I wanted to have a bit of pork belly and enjoy some alcohol with my friend without eating too much. The lady that served our table shook her head saying "no, you can't do 1 order". It is not stated at all in the menu and we had already waited a while to get seated on top of getting our order taken. Extremely disappointed with this establishment. Please post signage for your minimum charge requirement instead of bullying your customers into accepting the minimum charge after sitting down.
google avatar

Tony T.

Yelp
My friend took me here since this is his favorite KBBQ place. We ordered 2 Wagyu Brisket, Prime Ribeye, Pork Jowl, Kimchi Fried Rice, 2 soups, Kimchi Pancake, and some Soju for 6 people. The brisket is probably the one of the best briskets I've had. The Ribeye was solid as well. I don't usually like pork jowl, but this one was pretty good especially when eating it with the Kimchi fried rice towards the end. The total was about $46 a person which isn't too bad, considering that's around the price of AYCE, but you're getting higher quality meats and not stuffing yourself.

Perla M.

Yelp
Went to lunch with family it's a simple menu for Korean soup. Food was delicious very flavorful and service was good and the workers are nice. It's a very mellow and calming place to eat at. Highly Recommend to try.

Su M.

Yelp
The best pork bbq restaurant in K-town!!! Salad is fresh each and every time ... the complimentary soup is piping hot and so tasty ... I love that they serve Serrano peppers instead of the usual jalapeño ... and the cuts of meat are on the thicker side. Everyone is super friendly & I would definitely recommend
google avatar

Lara Y.

Yelp
My favorite kbbq place in Ktown. They help you cook and even help you scoop up the leftovers. Everyone needs to try the kimchi fried rice at the end, it's my favorite part!
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
I went a couple weeks ago but my friend and i enjoyed some yummy pork. Also liked the gopchang and it didn't taste too strong. They offer a seafood pancake which was yummy. I could tell the chef put in a lot of thought into every different flavor/sauce. Servers were also very nice. But i will say those who like self grilling more shouldn't come here cause they cook the meat for you.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
The pork belly is very good. Genuinely do not know anywhere else that does it this well. Would pass on small intestines though. They were good but I was happy with just the pork belly. Also comes with fried rice at the end! Quick and effective service, lively ambiance.
google avatar

Jennie T.

Yelp
The pork belly is really good here - probably the best I've had. It was highly recommended by my dining partner and happy to report that it lived up to the hype. The quality of pork belly is just different and you can taste it. We also got the cold kimchi noodles, which were 10/10 super refreshing and tasting and paired perfectly with the crispy pork belly! Also tried large intestines for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was! When the fat was rendered out, it almost became somewhat like a chip - so crispy! I recommend if you want to try something new. The service was really good and the servers cook everything for you. They were very attentive and made sure you were stocked on the sides, etc. Overall, I really like the chill ambiance and relaxed vibes. Definitely not as hectic as most other Kbbq places. There is a parking lot here and its valet only ($4). Make sure you bring cash for valet!
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
All foods are very tasty and staffs are friendly. I like spacious dining table. Soju temperature is perfect. Only thing that I can complain is tip suggestion on bill. Their tipping suggestion is after taxes.
google avatar

Grace Y.

Yelp
If you want to eat pork belly, come here. Barbecue baked on hot stones is the best. There are not many side dishes, but the spicy soup served as a service is delicious. Lastly, you have to eat fried rice.

Jimin K.

Yelp
Pork belly was sooo good ! They grill onions and kimchi together. Service was great 10/10
