This speak easy themed restaurant was delightful. The food was extraordinary. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. He made excellent recommendations and kept us entertained. The vibe was classy, but casual and the cocktail menu was both interesting and delicious.

Finally got to go to Moodys!!! We absolutely loved it. Food was fantastic. The cocktail shrimp was amazing with the cocktail sauce that had a little bit of a kick (i don't eat alot of spicy). My Pork Fraise was AMAZING. I personally was not a fan of the couscous but my husband liked it. Their iced tea was amazing! Even their water was good and that was just water! We will be back!!!

Our server was amazing! Our app? Delightfully 10/10! Cocktails? Again, 100%! Seating? Sucks. 4 times eating there? Our views were the path, politely put? To the maze finding all patrons asking where the bathroom was. While trying to enjoy our dinner. Third time asking for a booth or anywhere, another table, only a party of two were told no. Again awesome food, amazing cocktails, the place has an excellent staff! But? Nah, won't be going back. Only because Im paying out the ass for good food, which we got? But appreciate not having my dinner interrupted by other patrons asking for directions where to pee pee.

This is our second time here and we will be back! Although busier tonight, the service and food were amazing. Our server, Sierra was quick and took good care of us while the kitchen got our food out fast. Still the best steak we have had and the crack fries are great too!

Appetizers and desserts are really amazing! The mains are really creative and pretty good, though a bit too salty. (Love the wine pairings though!) Would definitely recommend

What a gem. Visiting GJ for a few days and had lunch here. I liked it so much I came back for dinner. The food is unique and prepared with a lot of skill. Their whiskey selection is well thought out, covering a lot of ground but very reasonably priced. Last, but not least, the bartenders are professionals. They are making actual cocktails, and it's an entertaining seat at the bar watching them work.

Google
This is our go to restaurant for great drinks and amazing meals. I enjoy their rotating specials. The bone in pork chop was amazing. I had the tomahawk steak for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Their sides are not an after thought either. The sides were seasoned perfectly and cooked right. If you like bourbon their selection is very decent. They make their old fashioned with and Elijah Craig barrel pick.

Google
Amazing speakeasy style lounge with amazing food and cocktails. The salmon was perfectly paired with three large grilled shrimp and some of the best mashed potatoes in history. The old-fashioned was a nice treat as well. Great ambiance and the most delightful staff. Sierra was welcoming and helpful with my food selection.

Yelp
Surprised my girlfriend with a visit to Grand Junction and we decided to check out Moody's....so glad we did! The atmosphere is cozy and dark with a cool, intimate vibe. From the moment we walked in, the staff and our bartender were super welcoming and attentive. We kicked things off with cocktails. I had a Cosmopolitan and my girlfriend had a Hibiscus Margarita. Both were perfectly made, flavorful, and honestly some of the best we've had. We weren't planning on a full meal, just a few bites, but the food tempted us. The curry lamb eggrolls were outstanding.....packed with flavor and cooked just right. We'd 100% order them again. We also shared the calamari, which was delicious, and ended up ordering another round of drinks because everything was just that good. Highly recommend Moody's for a great drink, tasty bites, and a chill atmosphere!

Yelp
We had our best meal for quite some time at Moody's tonight! Jake Huddleston is an amazing Executive Chef, creating not only creative meals but also mastering the flavor profiles! Mary Jane was our waitress and we could not have asked for a more vibrant and professional wait staff! Dining at Moody's is a one of a kind experience we recommend to everyone.

Yelp
I had been in the road for 5 hours, & the whole time I knew I wanted steak for dinner. So happy I found Moody's! I went for the filet and swapped out the roasted fingerling potatoes for the truffle mash. There could've def been more truffle, but still delicious! The steak was cooked to perfection, and the service was on point at the bar. The ambiance is dark and... moody. Lol Definitely recommend coming here for a lovely and lively vibe.

Yelp
Nice spot in old downtown Grand Junction. We arrived later than intended due to a dinner running late and we got in basically at last call which was like 1130ish? They closed at midnight i think. The place isn't too huge but a group was leaving luckily as we arrived and we were seated quickly (there were 7 of us). The bartender was awesome and friendly and attentive. I tried the sidecar as my drink and it was good! Never had one before so was pleased and it was stronger than I thought it would be ha!

Yelp
Outstanding bar tenders! The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. Feels like having a drink in your house. Will come back.

Yelp
Honestly, I love a good speakeasy but aside from the great service and the bread, this place had no redeeming qualities. The lounge area ambiance far outweighs the dining area's so don't bother getting a reservation. Do NOT use their bathroom under any circumstance and do NOT get the steak... The bathroom was dirty, old, and smelled like raw sewage. The $50 ribeye steak was completely inedible. Also, their drinks were subpar and very expensive. I wouldn't go back if you paid me to.
google avatar

Yelp
Outstanding service from the moment you walk in the door. Food is delicious and of good quality for the price. Never once did a water glass go empty or our needs weren't met. Fantastic place, highly recommend. Don't forget to call ahead.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, from the paneling to the giant black-and-white prohibition-era photos to the lighting! And the staff fit right in, both in style and service. We had lunch here, and the menu was suitably fun. They offer a little bit of everything, from chicken to steak to salmon to burgers--each with a little twist to take it beyond average. I enjoyed the truffle fries. They weren't over-truffled, which was lovely.

Yelp
Moody's Lounge was an eclectic sort of feel. You walk upstairs from a clothing store to get to the entrance of the restaurant. There's a lounge area to sit while sipping or a bar - a place I would probably grab a drink. But the restaurant portion itself just felt off. The door to the bathroom is right there in the space. And the way it was laid out just felt like that were trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. It just didn't work. The food was good but not outstanding.

Yelp
My partner and I came for dinner and drinks the other night while we were in Grand Junction and had a good experience! The cocktails we got were tasty and the food was out of this world good! This is probably the best food we had in GJ! We ordered a calamari appetizer and split the chicken piccata. The chicken piccata sauce was buttery and silky. It paired really well with the crispy chicken cutlet. The calamari was so good too with a caper dipping sauce. The cocktails were solid. Overall they were well balanced, and not too sweet. I didn't try anything unique but then again they were out of the one I really wanted. Be aware that this spot is extremely dim (speakeasy feel). There is a little lounge in the front and then tables in the back for dining. I'd definitely recommend making reservations if you're coming to eat. Overall, good experience, excellent food!

Yelp
Went here for the Valentines Day dinner. We went through the back way (by the Ally / bank side) and wow did it feel like your walking into a speak easy. For drinks I got a lemonade and my S/O got the Black Widow cider, it was very good but very strong (well strong for us). We ordered the Parmesan truffle fries and house salad for starters, the garlic sriracha aioli for the fries were amazing although we had to get a second ramekin of sauce. And normally I am not a sriracha fan but this one was amazing. For main I got the Chicken Piccata and S/O got the Wagyu Burger. They were both delicious but as we already split some fries and salad we were full so we got the leftover Togo. The waitress took out food and boxed it up for us nicely. We also ordered the special strawberry cheese cake to go. While the place was busy considering it was Valentines Day, the small wait time to be sat (we had reservations and only had to wait 5-10 minutes for our table to be ready) and they got us drinks while we waited, the noise level was not two loud but like I said considering it was during one of their busyness nights the noise level was to be expected. But the wait for the food and service was amazing. While we were there waiting for our food, we booked another reservation for May for our anniversary. This is definitely our favorite place to go for special romantic date nights! Great service, great food, for a reasonable price. Unfortunately we didn't get to take any photos of the food due to how yummy it smelled and looked like.

Yelp
I was saddened to see that Moody's succumbed to easy food that doesn't set them apart from any other location in GJ. The ambiance has changed from a speakeasy to a general bar. My husband ordered an old fashioned. Our server put it in as a happy hour drink. It was watered down and not served with a cube but served over ice. The calamari was tasteless, fried in flour without seasoning added. The rib eye was done well, we both enjoyed it and the sides it came with. Our server was ok. Not very attentive and didn't share what the soup was or any particulars about the menu, just scan for the menu and I'll be back. It was an ok experience, I was simply expecting the Moody's that opened in GJ not a diluted shell of a random bar with a couple escalated dishes. Disappointing.

Yelp
The drinks are amazing. The wagyu burger was delicious. The server was awesome, the manager...meh. The fries, well they suck so bad. The menu says "house cut fries". I must be nuts because what showed up were not house cut fries. Google a picture of house cut fries. You tale a nice big potato, wash it, remove any eyes, slice it (I don't want mine peeled), cut it, fry it, season it, serve it. That to me is a house cut fry. I got some coated wimpy BS fry covered in mascara. I asked the manager who had been yapping to the bartender for 10 minutes in front of me how these are "house cut fries" and she says "oh yes, we cut them amd fry them and then coat them in corn starch and refry them. That is not a house cut fry. You've got a great place here. Please change your fries or fix your menu.

Yelp
Always love coming here when I visit. Went last night to celebrate my younger brother graduating college. Started with the Negroni! Was made perfectly. We got the crack fries, calamari and Reuben rolls for appetizers. Crack fries were my favorite. Got the steak for my entree. Steak was cooked perfectly and subbed the fingerling potatoes for the truffle mash. Great choice! Service was great like usual.

Yelp
Cool little speakeasy vibe in downtown Grand Junction. Tina took great care of us, super friendly and on point. The food was decent, but the old fashioneds were solid. Great spot to unwind and enjoy a good drink.

Yelp
I just arrived in town from California after a 12 hour Trek. Made my way to Moody's in a thirsty and hungry mood. Was greeted by Mike and I ordered the mezcal drink and the wagyu burger. I wish the mezcal drink was more Smokey but it was tasty and the wagyuburger was great. Cool lounge vibes with couches and booths. Reminds me of hip bars in LA.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
This is a gem of a lounge. They have an excellent whiskey menu and the bar tenders know how to make cocktails. The service is good. The ambiance is a little corner bar, a little speakeasy, and a little upscale lounge. I like it! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Came into Grand Junction late (around 9:30pm) and one of the other restaurants that had stopped serving recommended Moody's. So Happy they did. The cocktails were awesome and the food was great. Liked the vibe. I got the Wagyu Salad and my son got the BLAT sandwich. (Photos below). Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Couldn't be happier with our server Mikey. Turns out he's the bar manager as well . The cocktails were outstanding . The space is super cool and I can't say enough good things about the food . Definitely will come back

Yelp
Another delicious lunch at Moody's... if you haven't been do yourself a favor and go.. MaryJane is an amazing server..

Yelp
was my third visit to Moody's .. #1 - a lazy lunch by myself to check the place out and discover what's it all about .. gave me positive vibes and a real chill feeling .. even as it's located in the heart of "downtown" GJ .. #2 - an early dinner to "celebrate" my wife's end of employment - which will move the finish line that much closer to retirement .. Now both times I was puzzled as to the lack of patrons (being new in town I've yet to blend into the ebbs and flows of the dining landscape) .. BUT --- #3 - dinner with friends on a Wednesday night in July .. walked in without reservations and was offered a table in the lounge (relaxed area next to the bar .. very warm and welcoming) .. the staff was rockin' and rollin' ... two mixologists behind the bar .. shakers high overhead .. could have closed my eyes and it could have been North State street in Chicago .. or Chestnut Street in SF .. an interesting menu which could use work (inventiveness) .. but all in all a great dining experience ...

Yelp
First time here this past Saturday night. Not to crowded but seemed like that on Main Street. The vibe is pretty cool. Service was good. My only criticism was that we ordered Moscow mules and they came as lemonade and vodka. Am I missing something here? I'd say given this a try and make sure the bartender knows what you are asking for when you order.

Brooke L.

Yelp
Food and drinks are wonderful and unique and service is unparalleled. This time we sat at the bar and enjoyed talking with the bartenders. The ambience is cozy and the location is unique. I highly recommend it here.

Road R.

Yelp
Food : average Service : extremely slow and there was hardly anyone there Ambiance : mediocre I hope this isn't the best Grand Junction has to offer. Youre paying for " the experience " and that was lacking

Steve G.

Yelp
Food is rock-solid consistently good. Service is great. Ambiance is nicely decorated but LOUD from people talking and having fun!

Krystal R.

Yelp
Service and food was amazing! We came across Moodys by chance and I'm glad we did. The staff was super nice considering we don't drink just came in for the food! The staff even offered to make me mock-tails just to give me the chance to try something. Try the BLT and you won't be disappointed, but happy with all the flavors in this sandwich. I promise it's the best twist on a traditional BLT.

Yelp
My husband and I had a date night here, and the food was phenomenal!! I had the pasta, and he had a wagyu burger. I can't speak for his dish, but mine was amazing. It was seasoned so well and tasted so rich, using gouda was a fantastic choice. I absolutely want to return here. They have great reviews for their drinks as well, but we are not whiskey drinkers. He had a wheat beer local to CO, and I had a glass of Moscato and we both liked our drinks as well. I'm telling you though, that gouda Cavatappi and cheese pasta warms the soul.

J M.

Yelp
I didn't eat here but I had the best whiskey sour & ol fashioned ever! Service was excellent with a nice selection of whiskey. The "speak easy" style is very comforting.

Stephen K.

Yelp
Had drinks and ate dinner at the bar, the place was very busy and bartenders were hard to flag down, nice atmosphere, food was not impressive, chicken parm was pretty tasteless, blackened shrimp skewers were inconsistently cooked, not returning soon.
google avatar

Megan J.

Yelp
Moodys is a cool spot that's unique compared to the other options in GJ. I've been a half dozen times, usually for drinks. It's not actually a speakeasy like some folks bill it as but more of a lounge. They have a decent selection of craft cocktails at a reasonable price. The location is a bit awkward being inside a building above a women's clothing boutique. The inside is a bit weird how it's a lounge with dining area that doesn't quite flow. The appetizers are okay but drinks are delicious and service is excellent. I don't much care for the ambiance in the dining area but the lounge is a chill spot to hang out. I'm hesitant to try this place for entrees or lunch given how lackluster the appetizers have been. However, it's worth it for the vibe and the cocktails alone. It is a very small space so be sure to call for reservations.

Chase Hammond ..

Yelp
My wife ordered a cosmo and I ordered the old fashioned. My wife's cosmo was very good. My old fashioned would have been great but instead of using a block of ice (as their menu specifies) they filled it to the brim with ice cubes. Ice cubes = death to a good old fashion. Immediately watered down. Any good bartender should know. Likely would have been made correctly depending on the bartender. We will give it another shot.

Robert C.

Yelp
Food was very good .. dessert and drinks were awesome! Service was also great! Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
Great place for cocktails and desert. We decided to visit the place on a Friday around 4:30 and it was packed. It is a speakeasy lounge that serves food in the dining hall. The ambiance is great for a date. We went for cocktails and snacks /deserts. Tied the Thoreau which was a light version of mojito and colorado G&T . Both very well prepared and not too strong. The cheddar truffles were great and then for dessert the chocolate drunken mousse which I loved and the cream brûlée which was too creamy for me . Overall great experience and I would recommend the place

CK M.

Yelp
Lovely establishment with good drinks and artwork. Great wait staff. Don't order the Tomahawk steak though. It was the toughest and most fatty steak I've ever had.
google avatar

Kyler S.

Yelp
Logan sets this place apart from other local venues, and with that I believe it is important to think beyond that; just as it is important to separate the art from the artist. We separate Dali from his paintings, or Chris Brown, R. Kelly, recently Till Lindemann from their music. It is true, we try. We try indeed. With that said the meal was incredible. The sword fish was rich and the zest provided by the lime and tequila sauce was something I've never had before but something that should exist everywhere. I will always go to Moody's when I am in Junction, I will chat with Logan who is often behind the bar. I'm the same way I will listen to Ignition. And with hope, I will muster the courage to do both of these things guilt free.

Jane P.

Yelp
Loved Moody's. Mikey was great. The food was so good and the ambiance was very nice as well. Will definitely be going back.

Jessie B.

Yelp
Great cocktails- EXCELLENT poke nachos! Highly recommend getting your self a reservation - went on a Thursday at 6:30 and it was jammin'!
google avatar

Hilton M.

Yelp
Tried the rabbit hole cave hill and blue note joke joint bourbon both good . The wagyu tenderloin and strip both ok not the greatest but well prepared . The crème brûlée was very good best in the valley , the cherry lime cheesecake was also very good . I guess our expectations were a little high so was a bit disappointed. The entrees were good the bourbon and desserts excellent. The service was also very good and we will return. I junk probably more a bourbon and burger place for me then steak and bourbon. Again service was excellent.

Suzanne

Yelp
Ordered calamari appetizer, sent it back because it was underdone. Ordered Tomahawk steak...it was extremely tough. Mostly fat and grizzle. Not worth the price. Only reason I didn't give one star rating is because the service was very good.

Yelp
This is a new and beautifully sleek second-story cocktail lounge/restaurant right downtown Grand Junction. Their focus is on prohibition-era cocktails and they boast an impressive array of eclectic and tasty spirits. (I tried a small sample of Cnia Mata sweet vermouth and Purity Gin, both of which were new to me, and both absolutely delicious.) The bar staff is so friendly and welcoming, in particularly a very cool guy named Mikey. This man knows his stuff and was very generous in sharing his encyclopedic knowledge on drinks and answering all my out-of-towner questions about Grand Junction. The Last Word he made me was simply divine. (See pic). Thank you, Mikey! A different bartender made me a martini, but shook it instead of stirred it, and left a ton of ice shards in the drink, which ended up diluting the cocktail pretty quickly. As a result it was not as tasty and satisfying as I was anticipating. (The martini is my favorite cocktail, btw, so forgive my fastidiousness here.) Perhaps this is something I should have pointed out to them prior to ordering, but I assumed martinis were always stirred. Remember, James Bond had to go out of his way to say he wanted his shaken, not stirred. Also, I was not asked if I wanted a garnish (i.e. lemon peel or olives). Anyway, all of that can be forgiven. I should note that I was tempted to dock a point because my two cocktails totaled $37.99 before tip, which is even more than what I pay in my home city of Chicago. So in that regard, there are some minor areas for improvement, and I have no doubt that they will get these fixed. After all, this is a new operation and they are still growing. Still, the overall experience is 5-stars all the way. Locals are very lucky to have a place of this caliber in their midst.
google avatar

Dan C.

Yelp
First impression was poor, however our dinner improved. The tables are crowded but functional. The decor is basic at best (as in put a few prohibition posters on the walls and call it a speakeasy) . Plan ahead and do not use the bathroom- its downstairs and had an overpowering odor of sewer gas and air freshener. They still use covid-menu's like they do not plan to be there long enough to actually print any. The bourbon selection was very good and the house old fashioned was tasty along with my wife's cocktails. We shared the Calamari, it was tasty and well prepared yet a very small portion, like tiny foor for not tiny food price. I had the ribeye - rare- and it was cooked perfectly and very good. My wife loved the salmon and shrimp plate and the service was excellent. Overall I could take it or leave it; there are many other places I would rather go for a nice dinner.

Yelp
WOW! Just WOW! My wife and I were SO AMAZED by this BEAUTIFUL and artfully crafted space that not only wooed us with their mixology but made us fall in love with their hospitality and AMAZING people We were instant fans and CANNOT WAIT to see Jesse, Mikey, and Logan again and to enjoy their AMAZING cocktails, food, and hospitality again

Yelp
We returned with out of town friends for dinner. The sincerity of staff to bring the best experience to your visit is remarkable and makes this establishment stand out. I hope they make a strong go of it and are around for a long while. This is not a place you can 'recommend' a specific cocktail because it truly depends on you personal preference. If unsure, ask your server to assist you in what might be best given your preference. Be adventurous as every drink has been exceptional. Oh, and ask about their drink specials as they usually have one. I appreciate they update their website as drinks come and go depending on what quality ingredients are available to them. For food, we started with the bread service, yum! - and the calamari that was just right in breading and the sauce accompaniment (both a 5). Each couple shared their own chicken piccata that had a strong but flavorful combination of lemon caper sauce on the pasta- delicious (5). We also added a Caesar salad and house salad(share) to each order. Our friends complimented the Caesar and our house salad was unique and delicious, maybe a bit too much dressing for me but my husband loved it (4/5). I might ask for light dressing next time-just a preference. We spent 1.5 hrs, a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely return. Yes, drinks are not the price of sports bar but this is not that kind of place. If you want to treat yourself to a QUALITY experience. This is it.

Yelp
Our first visit to Moody's and it was amazing. The two bartenders we amazing and quick to recommend great drinks. The food was excellent and very quick from the kitchen. Would highly recommend making reservations as it can get very busy

Yelp
Love the speakeasy vibes! Had the crack fries and they are amazing. The drinks were simple wish they had unique cocktails but overall super cool!

Yelp
Love the moody atmosphere. Bartenders were super friendly and fun to talk to. Food and drinks are excelente.

Yelp
My friend was visiting from Phoenix, so I wanted to try this place with him, my husband, and another friend. We loved everything we ordered: west coast oysters, bread service, calamari, Parmesan truffle fries, chicken piccata, pesto pasta, wagyu ribeye, and crispy chicken sandwich. Every dish impressed, even something as simple as bread service. There was variety of sourdough bread, and variety of dip. There were no leftovers. We ate every single bite of the deliciousness. The only thing I didn't like was having to scan a QR code for the menu and our server never checked on us. It was the food runner that would help us ask for more drinks and refill our water. We all had 2 rounds of drinks and our total for this meal for 4 guests was $290. Great price for such quality.
google avatar

Joy O.

Yelp
The crack fries earned their name. Much better than the regular fries and waaaay too tasty. Ordered pickup of the fries, burger and calamari and was ready in about 20. Would order again.

Yelp
Such a cool vibe. As soon as we walked in service was great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Drinks were awesome, as well as the food. Highly recommend if you are downtown. Great prices too!
