Mooloolah River Fisheries Takeaway Fish & Chips

Been coming here since 2000 - locals Worst fish’n’chips - luke warm fish and chips $5 worth of chips no more than 20 chips straight out of the frozen Packet type thin and limp the best part was the small tub $5 coleslaw $38 for 1 small snapper 2 teeny tiny crumbed whiting @ $5 each the fillets were no more than 6cm long!!!!!! Never again ….. 24 years of loyal customers gone

5 stars for the calamari and chips. This should be the benchmark that all other fish and chip shops are judged on. $17 for a gigantic serving of very high quality calamari and pretty good chips represents fantastic value seldom seen in fish and chip shops anywhere lately.

Terrible fish—definitely not locally caught. Chips were passable, but the price? Like paying for a silk purse and getting a sow’s ear instead. I’ve been here before, but this will certainly be my last visit, and I’m a local business owner.

The service was excellent. The fresh cooked Mooloolaba prawns where to die for. But the best part was that l just experienced the best potato scollop l have ever had the pleasure of trying. Oh my. You absolutely hit my craving 100% see you tomorrow for lunch again.

Again, a quick bite to eat before heading home. The choice we made was Calamari and Chips and a bottle of Apple Juice. The Calamari very crunchy and large cut strips. The chips also very nice. The meal and drink and sauce $22.90 - plenty for two people - actually struggling to finish the meal. The shock was the prize of the Prawns $ 49.90 a kile - we gave that a miss. Sitting upstairs and eating the goodies out of the carton with a great view over the harbour - looking at all the trawlers - it was relaxing. We will be back! Compliments to the "Chef" that cooked the Prawns and 🍟 - actually the best we had for a long time - there at the Fishery.

You would think with the hardship that people have to go through today the price of standard prawns wouldn't be twice the price. $52.90 a kilo. Well done guys thanks for helping everyone's Xmas. Greed.

Wanted 2 Dory, Calamari & Chips but told there was no Dory so after seeing the small pieces of Snapper (18ea) opted for the Cod/Hoki as an alternative. Fish was very overcooked and dry with very thick, dark brown crumbs. Returned to be told by female cook "there is nothing wrong with it"!! I said it seemed there was about 4 layers of crumbs and she said "no, it was crumbed freshly this morning" I was offered a refund and on going back in to buy some fresh green prawns to take home, there were trays of fresh Dory to buy??? On reading recent reviews, it appears this is a very common complaint... Never to return.

Went there for Father day lunch downstairs ordered 2x Grilled Barramundi and 2x potato scallops there was no potato in the scallops just all batter one of the grilled Barramundi was massive in size tasted different, the other grilled Barramundi was very small in size and it still had fish scales attached, the person has ended up with food poisoning from the Barramundi. Rang the store spoke to the production manager and was told there was nothing they can do cause all there check were fine due to this it has caused the person to become very sick to the point they have lost wages and they don't care. Would not recommend getting fish from this place
