Moon Dog Excursions

Really great tour with Moon Dog out of Rockport ME. The boat: lobster boat, very clean and very comfortable, we were a party of 3 but definitely space for 6, head, large cooler with ice and water & sodas. Your captain: Jonathan is a Rockport native who has been on the water since he was a kid, friendly, knowledgeable, and will focus on your interests...ours was lighthouses and sightseeing. I will add that Jonathan was really good with our adult son who has Down syndrome (see photo). We had a wonderful morning and would love to go out with Moon Dog when we return to Rockport.

We had an incredible experience on our Moon Dog journey.   Jon is an amazing captain with a lifetime of experience on the local waters of Penobscot Bay in and around the Camden and Rockport area.  On our route to a local island, we saw harbor seals, porpoises, bald eagles and osprey.  Jon provided all the comforts we needed.  Paddle boarding into the island from Moon Dog was a highlight for all of us. Jon shuttled in all the food supplies we needed for a relaxing afternoon.  When my family returns to the area, we will book another Moon Dog excursion.

We had an incredible time on our wildlife boat tour! Was so nice to be dog friendly and our pups loved all the sights and smells. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something to do in the area. Will certainly book again if we are in the area!

My high school students and I had the most magical day on Moondog yesterday. I’ve never seen them so happy before in fact! Jon is an awesome captain and made sure we had the best day. We saw a ton of seals basking on Robinson Rock (so cute!) had a fantastic time swimming/dunking, walking, eating and relaxing on an island beach. And to make the day even more special (hard to do!) we came across a humpback WHALE on the way home!! Incredibly rare to see that in the bay, so there was a LOT of very happy screaming following the whale home. Hands down best day of the year for me and my students. Thank you Moondog!

Jonathan is extremely personable and syncs your trip to your desires. The boat is a Lobster boat with chairs and love seats-very comfortable!. We went on a day trip and another evening a happy hour, sunset trip. We shucked and ate fresh oysters on the boat while watching the sunset!! Did NOT disappoint!!

We had a lovely boat ride with Captain Jonathan. He was very communicative regarding weather and the best timing for our outing, was very kind to my family, stopped for wildlife viewings, and gave us lots of information about the Maine coast. I learned a lot and enjoyed the experience. Thank you so much!

Been out with moon dog excursions several times and always had a great time! Jonathan is a great captain and tour guide! Very knowledgeable of the area
