We had a fantastic time here. It’s a Vietnamese fusion restaurant, and every dish we ordered was excellent. The cornbread, snapper, prawn, rice cake, and curry all stood out — rich, layered flavors with great textures. Each dish feels thoughtfully designed, well balanced, and even a little surprising in a good way. We ordered three desserts and they were all amazing and very unique. Definitely try the seaweed and durian desserts — you won’t regret it. They also offer some very creative cocktails, though to be honest, we didn’t really enjoy the ones we ordered.

I will remember this meal for many moons to come! Just wow! Went during restaurant week with some friends and it was outstanding! I feel often people say nice places don’t go all out during RW but this place sure did! Service was OUTSTANDING, portions were large and every dish was packed with flavor. We did the 5 course menu and enjoyed every bite! Can’t wait to go back! Favorites included the bbq shrimp and the pork belly, but truly everything was delicious! Also the decor is warm and the restaurant was not too loud even on a busy Friday night!

Enjoyed my meal here overall. Service was attentive and detail-oriented - napkins folded when you step away, water glasses never empty, and staff were knowledgeable about the menu and allergens. We walked in around 7pm on a Saturday and were able to get two seats at the bar. The menu is creative on both the food and cocktail side. The Pho Dac Biet cocktail was vodka-forward and reminded me of a martini with pho spices, especially star anise. The sparkling sake was excellent. Highlights were the mochi beignets (great chew, nice crunch from the pickles, excellent eel - just wish there was more of it), the koji focaccia with chili satay beans (perfectly toasted, fluffy inside), and the curry dessert, which was an unexpected favorite - everything worked beautifully together. A few misses for me: the muffuletta pasta didn’t feel cohesive and the mortadella lacked flavor, and while the pate chaud was good, I hadn’t realized it was a pie going in. I also really disliked the mandatory 20% service fee, and would much rather have the restaurant raise prices and not accept tips than deceive customers by not clearly including all charges in their menu prices. Docking a star for that alone. Overall good, thoughtful cooking and service, but at the price point nothing quite stood out enough to make me rush back, especially with the forced fees.

First time here but loved it. Service was warm and very personal. Decor is homely and I like how there are personal effects and other personal touches everywhere you look. Pacing of the food is good and you can do a la carte or tasting menu. All the selections I chose were good but I particularly find the pate chaud and stuffed leaf great. So many different influences all over Asia, plus French techniques, and the seaweed pandan dessert is almost like a tiramasu for me in its layering of flavors. Will visit again when I'm in town.

We recently tried the chef’s tasting menu at Moon Rabbit DC, and the experience was a mix of highs and lows. The meal started out strong—every starter we tried was excellent. The Summer Roll and Cassava Corn Bread were standout dishes, and the wagyu beef with perilla leaves, labne, fermented honey, and pickled shallots was beautifully balanced and full of flavor. These early courses set high expectations for the rest of the evening. Unfortunately, the main courses didn’t meet the same standard. The sweet potato tapioca gnocchi with cold crab meat felt disconnected, both in flavor and texture. The Szechuan-spiced red snapper with pepper & plantain, herbed freekeh, and charred caulini also didn’t come together—the ingredients felt more disjointed than harmonious. Given how strong the starters were, the drop in quality was disappointing. Service, however, was a highlight. Our server was warm, knowledgeable, and did an excellent job explaining each dish. The wine pairing, on the other hand, was just average and didn’t elevate the courses the way we had hoped. There were noticeable delays between dishes, and the overall vibe of the restaurant felt crowded, which took away from the experience a bit. In summary, Moon Rabbit DC delivered fantastic starters and great service, but the main courses and pacing left room for improvement.

One of the best Vietnamese fancy meals I've had. Everything was amazing, from the meals to the service to the food and drinks. Very cool modern and eclectic takes on Vietnamese food. Me and my friends thoroughly enjoyed it. I came for RW and got the $85 five course menu. I was given really burnt ends of the pepper steak while my friends did not. I informed the server, and she audibly sighed. She was just a bit rude the whole night and made us feel like we were bothering her. My friends steak was not chewable. The seating situation was also very uncomfortable. It was a collection of makeshift booth of differently shaped sofas with a round table. Unfortunately, they were fully booked so we couldn’t sit anywhere else. The pasta and tuna (unique to to the five and seven course menu) were really good. A majority of the food was great. The staff has excellent music taste. Just not sure if I’d come again.

We came here to enjoy a nice dinner to kick off a birthday vacation. Before dinner, we had drinks at Silver Lyon (highly recommend if you haven’t been!) and then walked over to Moon Rabbit. We chose their tasting menu and also tried some of their non-alcoholic options—which I’d recommend because they pair nicely with certain dishes. Overall, we really enjoyed the dining experience. The food was delicious, and the dessert options were just as impressive. The atmosphere was a little busy, but still enjoyable and lively. I can’t wait to come back and would definitely recommend their food to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
