Moon Valley Campground

🌲 Hands-down the best camping trip we’ve ever had. I brought my 7-year-old and 3-year-old to Moon Valley hoping to pass along a love for the outdoors — and this place delivered way beyond expectations. My 7-year-old learned how to build a fire and read trail maps. My 3-year-old explored every inch of the place like it was her personal jungle. And here’s the kicker: my wife, who is not a camper, actually loved it. She said she’d come back — and that’s saying a lot. The sites are clean, well laid out, and peaceful. Trails are nearby and easy for kids, but still beautiful enough for the adults to enjoy. Dominic was exceptional, giving us directions and assisting in anything we needed. It honestly felt like we had our own little slice of nature. We came home tired, happy, and already planning our return. If you’re even thinking about camping here — do it. You won’t regret it!

What a terrific stay. Hilltop Hideaway and Heavenly Landing are comfortable campsites close enough for couples traveling together to enjoy without sacrificing privacy. The views are stunning, and the canvas tents are comfortable and weather-tight. Camp cooking is a breeze thanks to the picnic bench/cupboard with countertop combination. There’s a lot to do in the area. Domenic is a great host, always available to answer questions. We look forward to returning in the future.

Had an incredible weekend at Moon Valley! The tent was lovely and there was plenty of room for a pack n play and kid air mattress. Super easy to get firewood and have any questions answered. Quick access to hiking, boating, and some great food and beer!

The Lookout was above breathtaking. Me and my children stayed 3 days two night and it was the most perfect serene location. Between the silence, stars and moon, campfires and good wholesome family fun we can’t wait to make it another adventure here!! 5 stars you must book a stay. From beginner camper to experienced glamper it’s perfect! Thank you for having me and my family can’t wait for our next stay! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What an awesome experience. We stayed here on Memorial Day Weekend and it was a perfect reprieve from the hectic weekend. The tent was pristine, the bed and pillows were comfortable. We grilled using the provided fire pit that has a grate over it. We also had a great time doing the recommended activities at Treescape (ropes course and zip lining). There’s walking access to impressive trails and the property in general was well taken care of. The site has perfect cell service allowing you to maintain communications with your host. Looking forward to returning here at our soonest opportunity.

What a magical place! We had an amazing time at Hilltop Hideaway as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 young kids). The bed was very comfortable and the views stunning. Dominic was very helpful and super responsive. The location is perfect with great hiking accessible on the property. We look forward to coming again and trying the other campsites.

We absolutely loved our stay at Moon Valley Campground! The host was responsive and everything was as described. Our primitive tent site was lovely and access to the Appalachian Trail was so close! We loved being able to walk out our tent, up the trail and onto the AT. We would definitely stay again!

A Hidden Gem in the Hills! Moon Valley Campground in Vernon, NJ completely exceeded my expectations. The property is absolutely stunning—perched on a hillside with panoramic views of the valley and working farm below. Just a short walk from our site, we were indulging in fresh apple cider donuts and ice cream from the farmstand, or setting off to hike the famous Angels Landing section of the Appalachian Trail. We stayed at “The Lookout,” which came fully furnished with a super comfy bed, a table, heater, lights, and all the basics you’d need for a cozy, restful night—and best of all, that million-dollar view! The campsites are thoughtfully spaced so you feel completely secluded, and each one includes a picnic table, fire pit, and secure bear-safe trash containers. Being tucked between Vernon and Warwick meant we were just a quick drive from some incredible farm-to-table dining, too. Whether you’re a seasoned glamper or someone who wants the outdoor experience without roughing it too much, I highly recommend this campground. We can’t wait to come back!
