Love this place. Definitely a hidden gem in Lenexa. It’s a little hole in the wall but the food is fantastic. Their fried rice is one of my favorite things to get. Lunch special combination fried rice is only $10 and comes with egg roll and crab Rangoon. For the price, you can’t beat it.

Little Chinese place in a strip mall. The food was all very taste. The portions were large, I had Pork Fried Rice and there was enough left over after dinner for lunch the next day. Staff was all super polite, we were waiting for some friends and he offered to wait on putting in the order until our friends came. We decided to have him put the order in right then. The food was out in five minutes. Maybe we should have waited, maybe our friends should have been there on time. Either way, food was hot, fresh and tasty.

Tried for the first time just now 12-27-2023. So good. 10 out of 10. We will be going back. I read the reviews and thought they were fake. The food was delicious and so fresh. They got my entire order correct and was on time. People were super nice and restrooms were clean (my criteria for judging how Cleaner restaurant is).

The food was so yummy so hot and so fresh. The food quality was so good. Everything was so yummy. The only reason I’m taking a star off because every time I come in, it seems like the workers are standoffish and kind of condescending. I have not received this above and beyond service that everyone talks about. But it has such a nice and homey feel to it. It’s definitely a lovely family owned restaurant with great food.

Walking in and smelling the food would have me give it an automatic 5/5 but the whole experience is 10/5 - I ordered online for pick up and arrived at the time my receipt said, the woman working the register was super apologetic that my food needed a minute or two more before it's ready (which was totally fine as the restaurant was full and she was serving tables, bussing, and taking orders), my food did come out maybe 90 seconds later and she was apologetic again. The potions are generous, the food reheats perfectly, everything tasted amazing, and its worth the cost. I can't wait to come back.

Absolutely fast, clean and friendly service. Delicious Chinese food, cooked perfectly. This place is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Dragon inn and China inn are my favorites too. I love and appreciate our Chinese Chefs in Kansas. Thank you so much and we will be back many more times!

Stood at the counter to order food for ten minutes while they answered call after call but never once asked for my order. Crappy cause my son and I use to love eating here often. Customers in the store should have their order taken before answering all those phone calls! I’m bummed!

First time here. Several items from the menu ordered. Excellent flavor for all choices. Yummy!!!

Teriyaki chicken had to have been deep fired taste like leather pieces getting stuck Between teeth salty dark sauce like everything was over cooked, cashew chicken was good eggrolls too salty no outside seating inside was not a dine in really order and go

Ordered general tso's chicken and it wasn't great. Chicken was old and hard. Also, it gave me the worst gas, but the price was great! Egg roll and crab Rangoon were good too but there are better Chinese food places.

Very delish and workers were friendly. The place was clean and super quiet. It was a great spot for lunch!

The location is kind of easy to find in the lot with toci bell but the parking is tight. The food was a 4.5 out of 5. The absolutely best item was the egg drop soup it was hot savory full flavor not just salt with the wonton crisp. The pepersteak with onions and peppers was pretty good they don't skimp on veggies my gosh if the meat and veg ratio was even it would be great to he flavor was pretty fair. The crispy crab ragoon was nice on day one dry on day two after heating up again. The general tso's shrimp is not a winner for me. Giant overly breaded and that sauce is not meant for shrimp with the he 4 PCs of broccoli. I haven't tried the beef and broccoli yet..but idk if I'll return. I ordered pan fried dumplings and didn't receive them so that turned me off. The ambiance of the restaurant was clean and pretty. The lady that took my order was nice and professional and called me back once my order was completed for pickup. The update: the beef and broccoli is hitting on everything especially spicy its my other favorite. So it's egg drop soup and beef and broccoli for the win.

This is my favorite American Chinese restaurant. I love the food. I love the service it's always fast and clean.

I've only been a couple times but the owner is super nice! I asked for my General Tso's to be extra crispy and extra spicy and they were happy to do that, and it turned out great. A solid 2-3 meals just from one of the dinner orders.

Love Moon Wok! Simply solid food, not too expensive, nice enough staff. It is the perfect Chinese place, always good!

I got takeout: Sweet & sour chicken and fried rice, with an egg roll. All the food was fine- no stand outs. Friendly counter staff. They did not honor my request for no plastic utensils.

Tried everything the owner recommended, it was all fantastic. Not only was it delicious but it came out so quick we were in and out in 10 minutes. It's a hole in the wall to check out!!

We are creatures of habit and never detour from our favorite, but thought we should venture out. I agree with others that the staff is welcoming and efficient. The large portion sizes and spiciness are true. Tonight it seemed to be all about carry out. They appear to know their regulars coming in for their take-out. They certainly welcomed us for being 1st timers. All of this being said, Moon Wok won't cause us to change from our usual. There was nothing wrong, but their just wasn't our flavor pallet Be advised that if you plan to eat in the restaurant your meals are on paper plates, plastic silverware and bottled or canned drinks and no fountain drinks. Not criticizing, just setting expectations.

Consistently good. Reasonably priced. Big fan of the shrimp lo mein. Shrimp are always plump & tender never chewy or dried out. Also the beef and broccoli is very tasty. Chicken And peas also highly recommended. Hot sour soup and eggrolls always good.They don't taste like freezer burned like some places. Great neighborhood place. We always carry out.

We love moon wok! It is our go to carry out. We have had trouble finding a spot where we enjoy everything. Usually we find good dumplings one place, lo mein another etc etc, but this place has it all! We haven't been dissatisfied yet.

Good enough for what it is! Fast Americanized Chinese food! No P.F.Changs for sure! Not enough onions and green peppers and what they did have were all raw not even warmed! One woman with two kids taking money and orders. You go in, order, get your utensils, napkins, sauces even your own fortune cookies and to go boxes and lids. You sit down in the three booth a couple of tables with chairs and they bring you the food on all disposable plates/bowls!

I had my doubts about ordering late. I should've followed my gut!! I asked when I ordered can I please get fresh food. I was told oh everything is always fresh! LESS LIES LIES!!! I don't even know why I asked! Shrimp fried rice was soaked in grease. It was like it had been poured into the container bc it was just sitting in grease. I couldn't eat it but my daughter did manage to eat a few bites before throwing it out. It also had a funky taste to it and the shrimp was rubbery. The egg rolls were also oily and just burnt black!! I was horrified! I have never seen a black egg roll. I couldn't believe they actually gave me this food and charged me for it! The crab rangoon was just more of the same. The bottom looked fine but as you moved up to the crunchy portion they were dark and burnt like they had also been re-dropped in grease. To say this meal was horrible it's an understatement!! Everything was baaaaad!! Each time I would pull something out of the bag it was just more of the same. I was unable to call that evening bc they were closed by the time I got home. I called the next day. I explained my distaste for the food I had received. She asked if I still had the food. Of course not! It was in the trash! I guess she's was going to have me get it out of the trash and bring it into the restaurant. Are you kidding?!! Who does that?!! They do! As much money as my family and friends have put in their pocket!! So in the end I was told there was nothing they could do! I will say yes I've gone there many times in the past and never had a problem. This is why I was so shocked at the food I received this time. Everybody can have a bad nite but you don't treat a loyal customer this way when they bring an issue to you. I did tell them that I wouldn't be coming back or any of my family. But they didn't care about that either. At the very least if you go just don't go late in the evening. Allow yourself enough time before closing that if you receive the kind of garbage I was given you can make a trip back and MAYBE get a refund. Good luck!

Update: Open 7 days a week including Monday. Great food. 2 things that I love about a Chinese restaurant: SHE LOADS your plates up with LOTS of food, and Lots of sauces. Also, the food is high quality. The fried rice is the best tasting fried rice I've ever had at a Chinese restaurant, mixed with peas and mini-carrots and probably egg. Delicious! Amazing orange chicken and General Taos chicken. Lots and lots of chicken in my too-go dish! So I'll be back! Lots of delicious sauce packets including hot sauce, honey mustard, duck sauce, a ton of sweet and sour sauce, and hot mustard. Delicious! A small hidden gem in Lenexa! Love this little Chinese food gem. Amazing crab ragoons and appetizer tray too.

So good! So affordable! This is our favorite Chinese food place in Lenexa. It's always hot, fresh, fast, and delicious. I LOVE the option to purchase sauces. The orange sauce isn't available for vegetarian dishes but we can make it work with an orange sauce side for a nice price. This place is definitely worth a try. We love it for delivery or pick up.

Good friendly service, fast, nice cozy dine in. Nice size portions. Food was excellent! I will be back!

Food was so good. We ordered for the first time just now and I would give it 10 out of 10. It was fresh chicken tasted delicious. We will go back, maybe our new favorite Chinese restaurant. The bathrooms were clean, which is what I look at before I order any food. I read the reviews and thought they were fake but no, this place is so good.

A complete mistake led me to this YUMMY restaurant. I discovered this quaint place totally by accident and *WOW* what a stroke of luck! I had arranged for a friend to meet for a Tuesday lunch at Holy Land Cafe. I drove all the way to Lenexa from Lawrence to discover HLC was closed on Tuesdays. We were hungry, had little time and in a strip mall with few choices. Moon Wok was the first restaurant we happened upon. Upon first glance I wasn't sure this was going to be a good choice. The restaurant was empty at noon. The best way to pick a restaurant is by the number of people dining there. Or so I thought. We were promptly seated with menus and then we ordered at the counter. The man taking the order was very businesslike and did not engage in small talk. We did not have to wait long to get our food. You have to gather your own plastic utensils, chopsticks, and napkins. You also make your own beverage. You know the drill. When the food arrived, I noticed how vibrant the colors of the food were. That observation might sound strange but the food wasn't covered in sad brownish gravy. The food was delicious and the freshest Chinese I've ever experienced. The zucchini was crispy, colorful fresh. I had the cashew chicken and the chicken was big, fresh pieces of chicken. There were no broken cashews, either. Big pieces of fresh cashews. I had ordered wonton soup and I was the same- plentiful and delicious. Just scrumptiously fresh. Truly inspiring Chinese food. This food made me realize that I had never had good Chinese food ever before in my life. I figured out why there weren't any other customers, too. This restaurant was hopping with take out customers. Couldn't count the delivery drivers who came and went or the people who came in to pick up orders. Prices were more than reasonable. There were plenty of lunch specials. The menu was very extensive. The man and woman who were working were very nice and pleasant. Again, they weren't there to talk. They were there to make the best Chinese food ever. There was plenty of parking and easy access. The restaurant was super clean and nicely decorated. Amazing restaurant and made me so happy Holy Land Cafe was closed. I will definitely be back

We ordered to-go and the order was ready on time. The food was fresh and had some of the best flavor I've had from a Chinese restaurant. Staff was friendly and ensured I had all sauces and silverware in my bag. Great experience and meal!

Great menu selection and they're cool wraps are just the best, better than P.F. Chang's. I have never had an order delivered with the wrong items and they have a great delivery service. ENJOY!!

Finally a great Chinese place in Lenexa! This place gave you great potion sizes, had fantastic crab Rangoon, and every entree we ordered was amazing. We all needed up spilt up our orders so we all got a bit of everything. I recommend the honey chicken with extra veggies and fried rice. I normally am not a fan of fried rice but they definitely have one of the best! I'm looking forward to going here again soon!

Food is above average. The service/people are amazing. This is a great place for pickup or a quick bite - restaurant is clean but not full service sit down restaurant. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Overland Park/Lenexa area.

Some of the absolute best Chinese we've had! Their soup is amazing, dinners are perfect and their portion sizes are more than generous. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very homey and felt like a nice place to be able to take the family. We would VERY highly recommend!!

One of the best "faster food" restaurants in the city. Regardless of cuisine type. Food is great, affordable, and served fast. Then the service is great and folks are friendly. And this is after 3 visits. Let alone the name is awesome.. tribute to Michael maybe?

This used to be my second favorite place for Chinese food, but lately they are dropping the ball. Tonight they forgot the sauce for my dumplings and gave me fried rice instead of the white rice which I requested. Also, another price increase. What used to cost $12 pre-pandemic now costs 20. I unfortunately will not be going back. So sad.

For what moon wok is it is the best of its kind. Small carry out/ delivery place with a small dine in area. Fresh all natural white meat chicken All natural sauces. This must be the best value and quality of a Chinese joint I e ever found. Their combo meal plans are perfect for one hungry person and are all under $7. I won't bother trying to find anywhere else to order from nearby. Of course tons of options but unusual gems like Springfield cashew chicken? If you ever went down there you'd know. Go here and try it and see what you think. Ask for sauce on the side if doing takeout and enjoy!

Came in on a weekday at an odd hour (3pm). Restaurant was empty, as expected, and it was clean. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the small size of beef and green beans. The small size comes with rice, but not with side of egg rolls fyi. Came out literally in minutes. Extremely flavorful, and well cooked. Beef was tender and the green beans were bright green and a little bit crunchy, so I know it was cooked fresh and not sitting under a light somewhere. Even though I ordered the small, an ample amount of food still came out. Pricing is standard for this type of place. Would definitely come back.

The service was outstanding today. I did a carry out order and the staff was very friendly and helpful as I had never been in before. The wait wasn't long especially for not calling ahead. I would definitely recommend to everyone!!! Super fresh and really great taste!

We had lunch here recently...I've been eager to try the new spot. The dining area is small, but still has a good amount of seating. Considering it's a new place, everything is nice and clean. They have all day combo specials for a decent price ($7 or so, depending on what you choose), these come with choice of rice and a crab rangoon and an eggroll. You get a good sized portion for the price. The rice was flavorful, which sometimes fried rice is kind of bland. The food tasted good and didn't seem like the store bought/prepackaged sauces you often get. I ordered triple delight and mom ordered cashew chicken. They add zucchini to their dishes, which is a turn off for me. My triple delight didn't have a lot, but the cashew chicken did. The triple delight only had 2 shrimp, which was disappointing, despite it's tastiness. I found the egg roll and Rangoon wontons to be kind of on the thick side, but they were both tasty. Room for improvement would be the plates and plasticware they use. Food is served in the dining room on very flimsy plastic disposable plates. We found ourselves wishing we'd have ordered to go just for better containers.

The best Chinese food I've had in a long time! The place is very clean, they got our food out fast, and everything was very fresh! And it's a ton of food for the price. I got a small honey chicken with fried rice. The fried rice was so flavorful, I could've just eaten that! The chicken was DELICIOUS and all white meat. My mom got the Springfield Cashew Chicken, and she said it was the best Cashew Chicken she's found outside of Springfield. We also got an order of crab rangoons. They were light and crispy and the filling wasn't just cream cheese - it had great flavor. We will definitely return!

My family was in town and we ordered about 6 entrees and appetizers. We lived them all! It was ready in less than 10 minutes and was still very hot when we arrived at home. It was my first time ordering from here and certainly won't be my last!

A casual Chinese diner which offers fresh food. Our family usually gets the special fried rice, special lo mein noodles, crab rangoon, orange chicken, and beef with broccoli. It's delicious and affordable!

My chicken with vegetables all day combo was ready about four minutes after I ordered at the counter. There were many fresh veggies, white chicken meat, a tasty spring roll, and a crunchy creamy crab rangoon. I also liked the healthy brown rice option. The serving size was generous, and the price was reasonable. The dining area was clean, and new, with a big screen TV, while the service was polite and professional. Very nice.

Found this place when craving crab rangoons recently. Extremely impressed with the quality and reasonable pricing. We had chicken lo mein, chicken and broccoli, and rangoons and loved all of it. We have found our new neighborhood take out option! The parking lot is frequently packed because there are so many wonderful options including and surrounding Moon Wok but it is well worth it.

My new favorite Chinese restaurant! The value for the price was great. And, the sauces tasted just right not too salty or bland.

I probably won't go back to this place and seriously don't understand the high rating people are giving?? I'm wondering if people in Lenexa know good Chinese food?? I ordered a small pork lo mein and asked if I could add mushrooms and a small egg drop soup was told my total was $8 something. I came to pick it up and was then told "I forgot to tell you it costs extra for mushrooms so it will be $1.00 more" I thought that was a little silly but paid it and went on my way. I get back to the office and dump out the very melted styrofoam container into a bowl and find the equivalent of literally less than one whole mushroom in the whole serving of lo mein, also less than a 1/8 cup of meat. The only other vegetables in the lo mein were onions, 2 pieces of water chestnut (I know because I hate them and picked them out...also who the heck puts water chestnuts in lo mein??) and a VERY tiny amount (like maybe 3 strands) of Napa cabbage. The taste was bland and I had to add a ton of siracha and soy sauce to not just taste like a bowl of noodles. The soup.... oh god it was horrific! It was a thick, flavorless, gelatinous goo. It wasn't even really liquid it slid off the spoon in blobs! Save your time and money and go down the street to Fortune Palace they make great food and soup there!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. My friend is a deployed military wife with twins and they refuse to deliver her when they are the ones who have made the mistake. They told her that she cannot receive deliveries when they were willing to deliver to my house which is further away. They also have not made sure their orders are correct and get upset when a customer asks to be refunded for undelivered items which have been paid for by the customer. As a friend of the US military, I deplore you to not use this restaurant.

I was craving egg drop soup so bad on this really cold day. So I ordered a cup and they give me this brown soup. I dont know if this is their version of egg drop, but imagine my big disappointment that the soup tasted horrible. Guess I'll have to go across the street to Fortune Palace and pay double for my order to be right. I will give 3 stars for my meal though. Chicken fried rice is really good.

Best Chinese Food in Lenexa and quite possibly KC Metro area. We are guaranteed by weekly patrons if not more. The ingredients are visibly and flovorfuly fresh. Mandarin Pan Fried Noodles are my fav, the wife is an avid fan of the Chicken in Garlic Sauce. Try it you wont regret it!!!

I have been ordering from here for over 3 years and the food is always great! Delivery is fast and the order is always right.

Chinese isn't exactly my favorite and I can honestly say that I probably haven't eaten more than a handful of offerings off of menus in this genre. The trappings of this place are very modern and chic for a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. 3 booths and 6 tables seem like the right amount of seating. Coke products are on tap. With all that being said, just had the best fried shrimp in as long as I can remember. Perfectly fried, fantastic flavor, and the right portion for an appetizer. Sweet and sour chicken was cooked perfectly too (though I forgot to order without the green pepper...which tends to add a weird/not great flavor/my bad). Rice was steamed properly. And the fortune cookie undoubtedly gave me the winning lottery numbers. Great food, close to home, at a great price. 5 stars.

Moon Wok is actually pretty good. They have delivery, catering, take out/carry out, and even dine in. They are open 7 days a week. They are located in the same strip as Holy Land Cafe behind Taco Bell. The menu has coupons for free crab rangoon (w/$25 purchase) or free egg roll (w/$20 purchase). You can only use 1 per visit. My family received a menu in the mail advertising this new Chinese place so we decided to dine in to try this place out. The interior is nicely renovated and clean. It's actually quite quaint with several tables and a few booths. Right as we walked in, we were greeted by the owners. They are pretty friendly. You can tell that they are excited and eager to serve the customers here. When dining in, you're supposed to go up to the counter and order your food there. There's even a sign right at the front door giving you directions. We actually missed reading the sign so we spent some time trying to figure out if we order at the counter first or if we just sit down first. The food came out piping hot. Literally almost burned my tongue but it was delicious, and I was hungry. The food is served on disposable plates so it's easy to clean up after yourself...just chuck it all into the trash. All four of our meals were portioned and seasoned well. Overall, this place is actually pretty good as far as Chinese takeout places go. In fact, it's more receptive to dining in, compared to other takeout places. The interior is new and super clean and the decor is nice (the canvas photos on the wall are beautiful). I definitely like this place. It's about as good as you can find of the "fast food" variety of Chinese restaurants. That said, you're going to get paper plates and plastic utensils, even if you are dining in. There is one thing I have to give special mention to - the dumplings. Great dumplings have to hit on all cylinders for me. It goes without saying, they can't be mass-produced, frozen and shipped... The filling has to be right, the dough, the way they prepare them... Also, the sauce has to be right. Moon Wok has a 5-star dumpling appetizer, including the best dumpling sauce I've had in the area. I still maintain that the best Chinese restaurant in the Johnson County area is right across the street from them - Fortune Palace. And because they are just as fast, and you can have a more pleasant dine-in or carry out or delivery experience - for me, I'm eating over there. The only exception would be - if I am just getting dumplings!

This is by far the best Chinese Cuisine delivery I've ever had! First off the online ordering is super easy to use just click what you want, pay for it, and bam! It's right at my office door exactly when I expect it! Amazing staff! Fantastic food! Fast delivery! Absolutely the best in Lenexa!
