We paid $2,200 for 7 nights in the Family Villa with Private Jacuzzi. Over $300/night, one of the most expensive places on the island. I’m writing this so other people know what they’re actually getting.
The villa listing says fully equipped kitchen. It had 3 coffee cups and 2 wine glasses. Nothing else. No TV either, even though the listing mentions one. The jacuzzi hadn’t been cleaned in over a month. We asked, and it took 3 days before they did anything about it.
Food was the worst part. First night, half the menu was unavailable. The shrimp came out cold and looked a day old. My partner got food poisoning from it. I ordered a medium rare steak ($35, which is absurd for Cambodia) and got well done. You can eat a better steak next door for half that. They also make you reserve dinner and pre-select your meal in advance, even when the restaurant is empty. The included breakfast was so bad we walked to the resort next door every morning and paid for theirs instead.
WiFi was completely broken the entire stay. Staff didn’t know anything about it and it was never fixed. Hot water worked maybe half the time. Staff said the system couldn’t handle the number of guests. Room cleaning was late or just didn’t happen. They never replaced coffee or water. If you want water you have to go ask at reception, and they charge $1.50 for a 0.5L bottle. A 1.5L bottle costs $5, which is somehow more expensive per liter.
Guests doing karaoke until deep in the night, nobody from the resort intervened.
The staff is friendly but they seem lost. Nobody knows how to fix problems, and the manager doesn’t seem bothered. It feels like nobody in charge actually cares whether things work or not.
I tried not to let it ruin the trip. But this resort was a waste of money.
