The restaurant is over hyped. As you enter through the gate, you get a strong smell of variety of seafood. Ground floor was clumsy and the seating arrangement was not cleaned properly. We ordered Crab tawa fry, beef curry with rice and chicken fried rice. Crab dish was tasty. Beef curry was okayish. But chicken fried rice was disappointing. Although they portrayed a board 'Alcohol not allowed', you can get a bottle of beer if you ask the waiter. Options are limited. Try to grab a outside table, you won't get the strong fishy smell They even charge for the mouth freshener

Moonrakers Restaurant is a must visit in Mahabalipuram for seafood lovers! The variety of fresh seafood dishes is impressive, and the flavors are absolutely delicious. The portions are generous, and the taste is authentic with a perfect balance of spices. The ambiance has a laid back coastal vibe, and the service is warm and friendly, making the dining experience even better. A great spot to enjoy freshly cooked seafood with family and friends, highly recommended!

The tawa fry prawn recipe is the most favourite dish of Moon raker. You can try red snapper fry and crab masala though it's expensive but you can try once. Could've been cleanliness and hygiene little more. Tastes are not the same when I experienced decades ago, and to be upgraded aa many same kind of restaurants flooded on the street. Please keep a beeda shop nearby aa many people were searching for it.

It used to be my favourite over the years but now with time I can see the quality going down, inside was a strong smell so chose to sit outside but that table was infested with ants Food quality was average which was quite shocking The waiter was paid but then the cook came out and was expecting a tip also Request the management to take care of the basics and this has been a good place to dine but if nothing is done you might lose customers

If you want to get fresh sea food with authentic south flavours. This is your go to place. If you are looking for ambience - not your place. If you’re a vegetarian not your place. Over all for sea food lovers - my family loved it. It gave me a nostalgic feel to sit at this place and eat when restaurants used to be small , and less spaced . The service team and chef are really polite and on top of their game. This is by far the best place for fish food - fresh , served with love and cost effective. They even showed us the fresh catch on the place. How authentic and true to their customers. How much our society has evolved and grown. A older millennial may relate to this.

Sea food at its best, must try Calamari fry, prawn fry and Masala fried fish. Got paarai fish (tamil) which was around 500 rupees is a bit overly priced. Prawn and Calamari were large in quantity.

This restaurant is 5 mins from the main road. This is one of the oldest eateries in Mahabalipuram. The place will give you vibe of vintage. We we not sure how will it be . The service is nice and quick. The decor tell us about how this place has been there since ages and continuously serving people. The prices are very reasonable. The sea food options are just out of the world. We took Red snapper masala fry. The fish was fresh and delicious. Cannot expect more . Definitely recommend. Please visit.

Had a decent dining experience with manageable food quality. The staff was accommodating and did a great job. Ample parking space is a big plus. However, hygiene needs significant improvement to elevate the overall experience.
