Moor of Rannoch Restaurant & Rooms

This was our third stay at the Moor of Rannoch Restaurant & Rooms and we are delighted to say it was as good as ever, if not even better! So many restaurants and hotels are cutting out the little treats that make for the pleasurable experience. Not Scott and Steph. The food was sublime with lots of lovely treats to tantalise the taste buds. Steph really is a classy chef who could easily compete with the best. The selection of wines is always superb and we do enjoy trying out new ones. If you like whisky then you will be in paradise. The welcome is always friendly as is the service and the added bonus is that the area is simply beautiful. |We will definitely be going back when we are next in the area, either by car or catching the train from Mallaig which simply adds to the adventure. |Thank you Steph and Scott, once again you have made us feel very happy!

What a truly wonderful experience staying at this place. Delighted to have had the opportunity to visit and taste the outstandingly good food in glorious surroundings. Scott is a font of knowledge, and very hospitable. Steph is outstanding at preparing delicious dinners and breakfasts - and very humble about her talent. Katie is friendly, welcoming and helpful. A stunning, remote location to enjoy warm hospitality and amazing food. ||The rooms are comfortable, very clean and we loved the little tasty treats that were awaiting us. ||The dinner was so delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the range of courses from Steph. Breakfast was equally high quality. The service from Scott and Katie was friendly and knowledgeable. ||A really fabulous stay after enjoying a day on the hills. We would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back.

Another wonderful visit to the idyllic Moor of Rannoch Hotel. The location, food, ambiance - everything - was just perfect. Scott Steph & Katie are the perfect hosts and made for a brilliant stay. Worth the drive here even if our preferred option (train) was off due to engineering works. Already planning our next stay.

Our second stay, just as wonderful as the first. Fantastic food, with drinks menu and a selection of wines and whisky to match.||Very personal, very hospitable. If the weather is nice there are a few walks in the area, if not, it's just as nice to watch the it from the conservatory.||We particularly appreciate how they organise around the Caledonian Sleeper - if you arrive on the night train from London, breakfast will be waiting for you. If you leave on it, you can enjoy another fabulous dinner before crossing the bridge to the platform.||Absolutely top place, 100% recommended.

This is an exceptional place to eat, and stay. Scott and Steph look after you so well, with marvellous food, drink and hospitality. The surroundings are also unique. Rannoch Station, the moor and the wildlife are all that are here, so don't come expecting a wild time!

A fabulous, remote location (for Scotland) in an incredibly beautiful part of the country. The 'hotel' is small and based around a superb food offering. |The rooms are adequate at the price point...but remembering that maintenance in this part of the world must be expensive. The rooms are comfortable. The rooms however do have great views...often of the frequently visiting red deer.|Room 3 has a good double aspect. (Stayed there on both our visits).|The food is excellent. A foody destination in itself. Complemented by a great bar (malts) and a decent wine offering. |The foody aspect needs mentioned more than once. Steph is a seriously talented chef and the effort Steph and Scot go to is immense - not a life i would want.|Dinner each evening was different. All quality and scottish ingredients. We particularly loved the scallop starter and lobster main on night 1. |The walks around this area are beautiful, of course.|Scot is a brilliant host and Steph likes to get out of the kitchen occasionally too.|Service and quality like this is to be appreciated as a rare commodity.|We will be back.|

I think this was the best meal I've ever had in one of the most beautiful and unique environments I've ever been to. The food was astonishingly good, the room was lovely and comfortable, the moor was wonderful to breathe in. All the little touches combined to make a really memorable stay. Scott and Steph have created a very special place.
