Group of 4 booked a half day private excursion. Tika, the owner, picked us up from our Hotel dock at 8am on a stunning day. The boat is brand new with a powerful & quiet engine, along with comfortable seating up front in the sun, or shaded down back.
We visited both lagoons, taking in the sights & Tika provided great insights into the history & key landmarks. We then visited the shark & ray spot, well ahead of all of the other mass tour boats, having the place almost to ourselves.
We then went in search of turtles & spotted eagle rays & swam with them also.
We stopped for a bite & refreshment (provided) at the coral garden. The coconut bread was superb.
We then went for a tour south around the lagoon to Ha’apiti, where there is a popular surf spot. The Mountain View’s from this side are spectacular.
On the way back to our accommodation, we went in search of finding a pod of dolphins, playing in Ōpūnohu Bay.
Highly recommend Moorea Blue Dream tours, exceptionally run, great quality boat & ideal to get away from the larger tour boats with heaps of people!
