Nice old hotel in the Dalarna region. Historical building with a lot of old things really nice. Rooms are clean and comfortable, we got the family suite with an extra room for children filled with toys. Nice SPA..pity the pool water is not kept warm..

I was very disapointed and wrote a letter of complaint that was never answered by the hotel. I wanted to give them an opportunity to appologise but heard nothing of Mora Hotel again. here a copy pf my letter.||We have stayed the weekend from the 20. 01. to the 22.01.2023 at your Hotel.||Mora means a lot to my wife's familiy as she was born there, her father was a clark at the local court and her mother was working at Zornmuseet.||We celebrated their their 50th wedding anniversary at your hotel in March 5 years ago with the family and had very good memories of your hotel .||We returned for a race for preparation for the on coming Vasaloppet and where extremly disapointed with the standards of Mora Hotel beeing apperantly a 4 star accomodation.||After arrival the frst thing noticibel was the thin toiletpaper we found in our bath room that would'nt suit even a 2 star. Turning on the TV and trying to connect one of our 4 devices was impossible ( we done it before in other hotelswithout problems and it was impossible in Mora Hotel). My wife went to reception and there was nobody able to help.||Next mornings breakfeast: the first thing in the morning I need a hot cup of coffe - the coffe on your buffet had around 40°C bathwater temperature. When I complained I was told to warm it up in a microwave that was standing next to the bar.The temperature in the breakfeast room was quiet cold /uncomfortable. I eat in the morning a 5 minute egg that I cook with my timer at home - I took one of your cold 6 minute eggs on your buffet and the egg white was still liquid. The bread on the buffet was in my opinion very ordinary. Havregrynsgröt was not available ,I found that so far in all hotels I stayed in the past. ||On the 21st January we decided to have a spa in the afternoon. The sauna was opposite the mens changing room with open doors and naked men running everywhere. I had to coach my wife to go there with me as all the women seemed to be intimidated - on the upside , the sauna was therefore empty. I have my own wood fired sauna at home and noticed straight away that the temperature was only around or below 60°C , probably because the door could not seal the sauna - there was an aprox 5cm open gap on the bottom of the door.||Leaving the sauna the showers had no ice cold water. The set up of changing rooms and showers was relatively discusting - they should be before you enter the spa aerea for hygene reasons already.||In the evening of the 21st we had a table booked in your restaurant. At first we where led to a table next to the screens separating your cold breakfeast room from the "Restaurant". When we refused to sit there we where offered a window table . The waiters where very friendly and helpful. I ordered the planksteak medium because I had'nt eaten beef for some weeks and was looking foreward to it - the steak arrived medium rare (I dont mind that so much) but it was the toughest chewiest steak I ever had in a restaurant. My wifes röding was an average non exciting dish - realtivalably eatable. We had after our main courses desserts - my wife had an apple pie which turned out to be just a apple crumble (not apple filling in a Pie cake crust but a small dish with apples and a standart crumble on top baked in the oven). Nothing wrong with that, but it was not a apple pie. The vanilla ice cream was nice, my dessert was a very uninspyring chocolate terrine with a decent but not memorable ice cream ( I would not eat it again or recommend it). ||The small menue in your restaurant described the dishes in a way no one could realy understand the composition.||The next morning , 22nd, at breakfeast we had the same cold coffe experiences as the morning before, but at this stage had resigned ourselves to the situation and where happy to leave the hotel at an earlier than planned time that morning to return home.||I have owned 3 restaurants in the past and worked in the hotel industry my whhole life and dont write normally these comments but did so to your benefit as we enjoyed our stay in your hotel the first time, 5 years ago, very much. We would have liked to, but will most likely not return to your hotel. ||I can not understand or agree to your 4 star rating - even 3 stars would be pushing the limit the way our stay turned out.||Very sad to see a place we liked going down like this,||Best Regards||Emma and Markus Rosenbaum||Ps.:All my comments have nothing to do with your staff as they where very friendly and helpful. I have not reviewed your hotel on line as yet.

It's a typical Swedish hotel - small but fairly comfortable rooms with breakfast included. It has a pricey restaurant. It is right across the street from the Inlandsbanen train station, which is why we came to Mora. Because we would be returning here after the train trip, we left our car in the hotel parking lot, which seemed to be ok since it was there when we returned.

Overall hotel is in a great location and staff are friendly:-). DO NOT accept room 127 it has a massive air conditioning chimney outside the room and you can't get any sleep... when you mention to reception they say "oh yes we know about that"

Unfriendly greetings with no information on any amenities on arrival. Staff were rude when asking about anything. Horrible experience with our booked restaurant visit and then was forced to wait 30 minutes to be seated in a clearly empty venue. We were excited to try the tastings menu but apparently that's a prebooked experience so we decided to order the flank steak which was very chewy and indigestible. No waiter even came to check on us during our meal either, I really wonder how this place got its 4 stars for such high prices. If you just need a quick place to stay and avoid all the extras then it's ok.

There was an initial glitch with service however the hotel went out of its way to correct this and could not have been kinder and more helpful. The staff were warm and friendly and the food excellent. We had a very good room and the spa is just lovely.

We visited Mora Hotel during the Christmas celebration and the aspects we enjoyed the most were the service (they were super kind) and the “julbord” was also super tasty.||||On the other hand, I would like to see this hotel improving on the timing; the dinner of three courses was surprisingly slow, especially if one takes into consideration this was a fixed menu. I got the impression the waiting time was introduced for the guests to enjoy their drinks, but the problem is that we were not consuming alcohol.||||The spa was also ok; I would have liked to have warm water in the pool, especially during winter, but that might be my personal preference.||||Finally, there were some Christmas activities arranged by the hotel, but there wasn’t any staff around during these events; a conference room was arranged with some utensils (like paper and crayons) and it was up to the guests to figured out what to do with them. I believe this was the reason why the attendance was low.||||My recommendation is to come with family and friends; the facilities are nice and fresh, and the staff is super helpful and friendly. It can become very cozy if you stay with your loved ones.

On a trip from the north down to Kristinehamn we booked a night in Mora - party of five. We looked forward to their restaurant and outside bar. Upon checking in we were asked if we wanted to book a table for dinner - it was hot and we wanted to have a swim in the lake and look around so we said eight o'clock. The respons was that was no good it had to be seven thirty. The hotel was empty as this is pre season. We thought this a bit snobby but reluctantly agreed and proceeded to the outside bar for a beer. There we were met by the barmaid who informed us that they only served lokal IPA beverage and had no beer - if it was beer we wanted she pointed to a nearby restaurant on the shoreline. We tried an IPA but it was undrinkable. We went for a swim and took the barmaids advice and went to the Wasa Stugan. It was friendly and wonderful with great service, beer and food. Cancelled our table at the Mora Hotell and did not regret it.
