Very famous spot in Popayan for locals and visitors alike, it is both a cafe' and a lunchspot. Portions are not huge so order a bit more to get full, otherwise the quality of everything is great. The granitas are just delicious, especially combined with the gelato scoop.

Food is extraordinary. You must order, carantanta, empanaditas de pipian(at least 20 pieces), salpicon payanes and tamal de pipian, and for desert helado de paila, if you do not speak spanish show them this text they will know.

Everything is right here. I love the food here, really old formulas, very regional food. Is like a snack meal kinda place...has a lot of visitors, foreign and domestic...sometimes there's no place to sit and you have to wait for a while, but is worth it

Such a cute place !! They have a short menu for food but of great quality!! A lot of juice and traditional drinks are available. Also, the coffee is really good, you can even buy it on site. I recommend 100% !!

Highly recommend coming here to try traditional Popayan foods while you’re in town! We tried: -champu (maize drink made with lulo, pineapple, Panela) it was sweet with the taste of cinnamon. The cinnamon is a bit overwhelming. if you don’t love cinnamon, choose one of the other drinks! -Lulada: made with chunks of lulo fruit, which looks similar to a tomato with a green/orange color. Very tart but highly recommend! -salpicón payanese: the best local drink! BlackBerry, lulo and guanábano (white tropical fruit). Delicious and sweet! The small sizes for drinks are tiny, so go for the grande! Empanadas de pipian: local empanadas made with potato paste and peanuts. They come in an order of 10 and you’re going to want more than one! It sounds like a lot, but they are tiny for empanadas. They came out hot and fresh. It was hard to stop eating them! Served with yummy peanut sauce. Tamale de pipian: made with corn and the same potato/peanut paste. Served with peanut sauce. It was okay, but the empanadas are definitely better.

My favorite place in Popayan to enjoy traditional local dishes (Tamales y empanadas de Pipián, carantanta, champús, salpicon). Excellent customer service, pleasant atmosphere, reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Typical dishes like tamales, empanaditas (for once all vegetarian :) )with a yummy peanut dip and drinks like champus, salpicon, etc. Cute place, seems to be very popular for locals

As a local, I think this place is overrated, you could find way better tamales for half of the price in some other places . It is not the best service, but it's ok. I ordered aborrajados and I received a completely different presentation of the traditional dish, small, rounded and expensive!...
