Moraca Monastery (1252.)

It is very beautiful and peaceful here. The courtyard and surrounding area are incredibly well-kept. You can go into a large church and a small old one, more like a cell, only you can't take pictures inside. There is a small bell tower, you can drink and wash yourself with holy water, sit in incredible peace on a bench, see the local apiary and carefully grown flowers.

Visitors are not allowed to see the thirteenth-century frescoes on the east end of the church behind the iconostasis. You will see only the sixteenth/seventeenth century frescoes - beautiful but somewhat less interesting from a historical perspective. Photos are also prohibited.

Small and nice place to visit, but not so interesting to stop here while excursion.

Beautiful Monastery, flowery, well maintained, Pleasant stop to make. Also the cakes at the shop were delicious! I recommend this place.

13th century monastery, still very active. Lovely ambience, very serene all around. Nestled in the mountains of Montenegro... Loved the experience

Very impressive monastery with very beautiful and elaborate frescoes. Unfortunately, you don't feel particularly welcome on the site, but you can take a look at everything in peace. Photos are not allowed inside.
